Jiyeon’s POV

I was really pissed when I see someone pouring me a drink over me and not apologizing. I was so pissed that no words could come out of my mind. And I didn’t notice that it was Myungsoo who did that until the guy named WooHyun came to us and started apologizing. Actually it was ok for me as long as someone apologizes to me. But it was not the case for Hyomin. She demanded Myungsoo to apologize and even shoo WooHyun away. I wanted to clap out loud when she did that but I held in the urge.

I have long heard of the group infinite. But I wasn’t really interested in them so I didn’t really bother paying attention to them. But now, I know their true colors. They are just a bunch of playboys, snobby and arrogant. I couldn’t understand why girls drool over them. It was so not worth it. I was glad that Hyomin wasn’t like the other people. This is why I like her and made friends with her. She is special. Really special.

After the “confrontation” with WooHyun, Hyomin pulled me into the ladies to clean and dry myself. We completely forgot about Junhyung, who was waiting for us outside. We even scolded the infinite members in the washroom and I guess lady luck wasn’t by our side. We were heard by some girls in the washroom and they were really angry about it. Well. We didn’t know about this until the next day when some people came to scold us because of it.

After 15 minutes in the ladies, we went out to see Junhyung still waiting for us outside the ladies. Hyomin saw him and went over to his side. “Pabo! Why didn’t you go first? You could have gone first!” She said. For no reason, Junhyung started stuttering: “I…I don’t know. I …I just felt that it was the right thing to do.” And he got stared in the face by Hyomin and of course he blushed. Hyomin tiptoed and patted his head and said:” I knew you were a nice guy. A guy better than those infinite guys.” And she smiled at him and Junhyung looked away immediately. I couldn’t help but giggle.

Hyomin turned to me and looked at my shirt: “Let’s go home alright? Your shirt is so dirty and you should be feeling uncomfortable right?” I nodded and she passed me her jacket and said: “Wear this. So you would feel exposed.” And she laughed. I realized my shirt was kind of “transparent” after the encounter with the drink. I took Hyomin’s jacket and wore it to cover my body.

After wearing the jacket, she linked my arms and also Junhyung arm and off we went. While walking home, I couldn’t help but notice that Junhyung is forever blushing. There are times when I can’t help but think that Junhyung actually has a crush on Hyomin. I was so determined to find out the truth someday.

Myungsoo’s POV

I looked at the girl standing in front of me and staring with me like as if her eyes are going to fall out. I was going to apologize for being careless, but after seeing what the girl did, I don’t feel like apologizing anymore. So I just eyed her and walked away. I couldn’t even bother what she would think of me. Let her hate me all she want, I’m not interested in what she think anyway.

Upon reaching the music studio in the school, I lied on the floor feeling the cool breeze of the air conditioner. It was just so cooling since it was such a hot day. Just then, WooHyun walked over to me and sat beside me:”Yah, Myungsoo, why didn’t you apologize?” I looked at him and just replied: “I don’t feel like.” This is me. I don’t like explaining to others and neither do I like doing things against my will. I do what I want, anytime, anywhere.

“But it was your fault dude.” He nudged me. I closed my eyes and just said: “Who cares?” He was going to continue blaming me when Sunggyu cut him off at the right time. Oh nice, Sunggyu became my savior without realizing. I hate being questioned. “Hey guys, we need to talk.” Sunggyu gathered us and he sounded serious for some reason.

“What’s wrong Hyung? You look like you are having some difficulties or something.” Hoya asked. He kept quiet for a while and finally talked. It was the first time seeing him so serious apart from the times we are practicing and this time round, I am sure he is not looking serious due to practices. It just got to be something else.

“I will be leaving Korea and study in the US. I will be leaving in another few days’ time.” He announced. Upon hearing the news, everybody was really shocked. Questions like What? What is going to happen to us? What is the group going to be like in the future with you? A year? That’s long! Why are you leaving? What are we supposed to do now? popped out from the other members. Only I remained calm. I knew Sunggyu had a reason why he was doing this, so thus, I calmed the members down by voicing out:”Hey dude. Let Sunggyu explain. I am sure he has his own reasons. Give him some time and chance to speak please.” And I folded my arms.

After hearing what I said, the other members stopped talking and kept quiet and waited for Sunggyu to explain. “Thank you Myungsoo.” Was Sunggyu’s first sentence after the commotion. I nodded indicating that it was fine. And then, he started talking.

“I’m leaving for US because my parent decided to expand their business there and we will be migrating there as a whole family. And of course, I will be back but it will after a year. I need to go there for a year and live with my parent and only will they allow me to come back and live alone. So thus, I think you guys need to find another vocalist for the group. I know we have WooHyun for the vocal part and some other members participate in the singing too, but as you know, each member have their own roles to play, so I don’t want anyone to feel stressed out just because you guys have to take on my role, so thus, I think it’s better if you guys search for another vocalist to replace me.”

“But how are we going to do it?” Jangwoo asked. “An audition.” Sunggyu replied and he paused a while before continuing. “We will open this to the whole school and we can search for people that have the best vocal. It’s up to you guys how you want it to be. We will plan it out in detail later on if you accept this idea.” Everybody started to think and silence was observed.

In the end, it was me who started talking again. “Let’s just do it. I know that we wouldn’t want another person to join us and replace Sunggyu. But it’s only for a while. You know we have competitions coming up and we have learned all our dance steps as a 7 member group. So if we change everything, we will only put ourselves in a mess. So let’s just compile this time? And when Sunggyu is back in the future, he will join us again, alright? After a year, when he comes back, we will still have another year as a group before we graduate, so it’s fine I guess?”

The other members nodded and they seemed to agree with my idea. In the end, we ended up planning for the audition and we came up with posters to paste in school. And of course we will stick those posters up tomorrow along with an official announcement. Even though I feel uneasy of the outcome of the response from the students tomorrow, I was actually kind of curious of how the days of being an infinite member will continue to be.

Next Day at School

Hyomin’s POV

Jiyeon and I came to school together today. Since it was a Friday, we met each other for breakfast and thus, we came to school together. When we reach the school, we could see a lot of posters in the school corridor. We went to one of the poster with lesser people and started reading:

INFINITE’s CASTING AUDITION

We will be replacing one of our members with a student from our school. If you are interested, please take one of the application forms and fill it up and place it in the letterbox outside the music studio where we always practice.

Details of the audition:
Time: 5.00PM

Day: This coming Friday

Venue: Music Studio A

ATTENTION PLEASE. ONLY GUYS ARE ALLOWED FOR THIS AUDITION. If you don’t know what a GUY means, it is another word for MALE OR BOYS. SO PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE OF THE RIGHT GENDER BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN THE AUDITION. THANKYOU.

After reading this, I felt a tug on my hand. I turned back and saw three girls standing in front of me. “Hey, you are Hyomin and Jiyeon right?” and we nodded.

“Great, just the person I am looking for.” They replied with a smirk.
