WooHyun’s POV

I ran back to the school gate to see LeeJoon still standing there. I was thinking of walking there since he looked like he was in a daze, but then, he started to turn around, and immediately without thinking, I just shouted for him. ‘HYUNG! Wait a while!” Luckily he heard me shouting for him and he stopped his footsteps. I ran towards him and panted while I spoke. “Hyung! I got the answer for you! Hyomin is Sunyoung! But, why did you hurt her in the past? Do you know, because of you, she started closing her heart and has never ever allowed a single guy to step in before?” He seems shocked by the statement that I just made. “I didn’t mean to hurt her, and really? She has never dated once after breaking up with me?”

I shook my head and reply. “No, as far as I know, she doesn’t even allow guys near her, how could she have gotten another boyfriend.” I paused for a while before continuing my sentence. “However, she is exceptionally close to one guy.” He raised his eyebrow and asked. “Who?” I was about to reply when I saw Junhyung walking down the stairs of the school gate. I looked at Junhyung and replied LeeJoon. “That guy there, Junhyung.” LeeJoon followed the direction of my gaze and it reached Junhyung. When Junhyung saw me staring at him, he immediately gave me a bow and went away quickly. I continued staring at him until LeeJoon started talking. “Don’t you think, he look like the old me?”

I thought for a while and realized what LeeJoon said was true. They look exactly the same. I mean, those specs, the way he dressed and the way he behaved, he was like the old LeeJoon who hasn’t dated Hyomin. LeeJoon continued talking instead of waiting for my reply. “Does this mean that Sunyoung hasn’t given up on me? I mean, look. Out of all the guys in the school, she has to pick someone who behaves and dresses the same way as the old me. Doesn’t this mean that she is looking for a substitute for me?” After finishing his sentence, he started beaming. I really wanted to correct him and tell him that whatever he said wasn’t true at all. However, I couldn’t bring myself to do it as I myself started thinking that whatever LeeJoon said was true. Why him and not the other guys? I sighed while my mind keeps on repeating whatever LeeJoon just said.

The next day at school during Japanese class

Jiyeon’s POV

For today, I went to class alone, since Hyomin said that she would be late. So in the end, without waiting for her, I went to class and saw WooHyun sitting at his seat, with a lot of girls crowding around his table. When I reached our seat, I could see that he was actually quite troubled by this. So on account of the fact that we were friends in the past, I decided to help him. I let out a loud cough to make sure that everyone could hear me. When I did that, all the girls started staring at me. Feeling irritated by the stares, I smirked and raised my voice. “If you girls want to crowd around this pretty boy here, please wait till school end alright? For now, I need my seat back.” I could see that they were irritated by my comment, but still, they made a path for me to walk to my seat.

When I sat down, the girls were still there. In order to make them leave, I started shouting. “Hey, don’t you know what I mean? Away you go!” I know how they felt when I made that remark. They look like they wanted to eat me alive or something like that. But still, they were scared of me especially after the incident with Apink. They know that Hyomin and I can’t be messed around with, so in the end, they dispersed and went back to their own seats, whispering something bad about me, which I am really sure that it was that way. When the girls went away, I could hear WooHyun heaving a sigh of relief. He turned to me and thanked me. I looked at him and said: “I’m helping you because I am annoyed by them, nothing else!” and I looked away after saying that. I could tell that he was smiling behind my back. “But still, thank you.” He replied.

Finally, class started and everything went back to normal. But still, something was wrong. I feel that something is missing in today’s lesson and I suddenly realize that Hyomin wasn’t at her seat.  I started panicking. I was worried that something is going to happen to her, so I took out my phone and started messaging her. But then, there was no reply from her. This is getting weird. Finally, I decided to make up some excuse and look for Hyomin. Just when I was about to do so, I see Hyomin rushing into the class, covered in sweat. “I’m sorry, Miss Kim! I had something urgent to attend to so that’s why I was late.” “You are excused this time, but no second chance!” She bowed and replied. “Thank you!” and she rushed to her seat.

When she settled down, I looked at her and whispered. “What happened?” She whispered back. “I will tell you later, yea?” I gave her an OK sign and went back studying. Once the school bell rang, I ran to her side and started asking her what happened, and there she goes. “I was on my way to school, and then, I saw LeeJoon, he started talking to me, and even asked if I still had feelings for him. I had a long time trying to shake him off and he chased after me! I ran around corners and hide until he wasn’t in sight. That’s why I was late. I don’t know who the hell gave him the thought that I still like him. Somehow, I must praise him and that person for having a creative mind.” I shook my head and crossed my arms. “Agree. How can you still like him? He thinks too much!” She continued. “He even talked about Junhyung. Listing out the things that he and Junhyung has in common. But then, what he doesn’t know is that he and Junhyung is different. And what’s more, Junhyung and I can’t possibly get into a relationship right? We are just friends.” I nodded my head and replied. “Yeah! Tsk. Why isn’t there a single nice guy in this world right now?”

She looked at me and said. “There is one right?” I gave her a confused look. She whispered in my ear and giggled. “Myungie.” I hit her shoulder and replied. “Yah!” “Alright, chill! I was just joking, look at your face, it’s all red. You really like him, don’t you?” I didn’t reply her but just kept quiet the whole time. She packed her stuffs and pulled my hand. “Let’s go and meet your dream lover now.” And she laughed. I hit her again and pouted: “Stop it!” It was time for me to become JiWoo and I will be meeting Myungsoo. And knowing the fact that I still have feelings for Myungie, Hyomin tends to use him to tease me. Geez, this girl here. Someday, I will just make sure I get my revenge.

WooHyun’s POV

My ears were all up when Jiyeon was talking about Hyomin. I couldn’t believe that LeeJoon really went to ask Hyomin about her feelings. Sometimes, LeeJoon really needs to have his brain repaired. Everything was fine until the moment when Hyomin said that she and Junhyung won’t have a chance of being together. I turned my back against them and gave a punch towards the air. He is totally being friend zoned. I continued listening to their conversation and my heart sank when I heard Hyomin saying that there is one guy that is perfect in this world. I assumed that she had someone that she liked and there goes my chance. But my mood came back up when I realized that she was talking about Jiyeon’s crush. And Jiyeon blushed and her face looked like a tomato. I laughed in my mind, thinking it was hilarious. Hyomin has the ability to change my emotions and because of this, there are times when I really feel like shrinking her and keep her inside my pocket, so that she will be mine forever, only mine.

But just then, I thought of Myungsoo. Poor kid, he has feelings for Jiyeon yet she already has someone that she likes. I am sure he is going to be really heartbroken. In order to make him feel less disappointed, I decided to disclose the truth to him earlier, so when I reached the music studio, I went to him and patted his back. “Bro, don’t be sad when I tell you this.” He looked at me with his confused look. I whispered to him. “Jiyeon already has someone she likes. I heard it when she was talking to Hyomin just now.” After hearing this, he seems dejected. He removed my hand and went out of the music studio by himself. Poor kid, was I too straightforward?

Myungsoo’s POV

When I heard what WooHyun said, my heart sank. I felt like the whole world crashed or something. I went out of the music studio to take a breather. Just then, I saw JiWoo and Hyomin holding hands and walking towards the music studio. When he saw me, he immediately greeted me. “Myungsoo! Hi!” I faked a smile and greeted him back. After that, we just went into the music studio and everybody started greeting each other. “Yah, are the two of you so close that you are holding hands?” Sungyeol asked. JiWoo nodded and smiled. “Of course! We are totally close with each other!” Just then, Sungjong walked over and took Hyomin’s other hand. “Sunyoung noona is also close with me.” Hyomin just giggled and did nothing. I could see that WooHyun was really really jealous when Sungjong held Hyomin’s hand. He turned around and faced the wall when Sungjong held her hand. Gosh, poor kid, seeing his love one being taken away right in his face.

For today, Hyomin stayed in the music studio with us throughout the whole practice. It was kind of weird actually since Hyomin has never stayed in the studio before ever since JiWoo started practicing with us. This was the first time actually, but nobody asked the reason anyway. So we started practicing for a few hours. After a while, we took a break and JiWoo offered to buy drinks for everyone. Hyomin was going to follow suit but she was being stopped by Sungjong. So in the end, I was the one who accompanied him to buy the drinks.

When we were on the way to the vending machine, there was nothing but awkward silence. But then, I managed to break the silence by starting the conversation. “Hey, can I ask you something?” he looked at me and replied. “Sure, what is it?” “Erm… Does Jiyeon have someone that she likes? “I asked without considering much. He seems shocked at my question because he dropped all the drinks that he was carrying when he heard my question. We bend down to collect the drinks and he stuttered. “Why…ar…are you asking this?” He was blushing at my question. When I saw his face, I laughed out immediately. “Why is your face so red?” He touched his face and replied, in a nervous manner. “Hahaha! It’s just that the weather is really hot! So my cheeks are red!” and he faked his laughter on the way back to the music studio.

I laughed to myself at his action, but in the end, I didn’t get the answer that I wanted.

LeeJoon’s POV

After losing sight of Sunyoung today, I decided to wait for WooHyun and tell him what happened today. I waited at the school gate again until he came out. When he saw me, he waved at me and said:”Hyung! What’s up?” I was going to reply when I see Sunyoung and a guy walking out of the school gate. “Who is that?” I pointed at the guy who was with Sunyoung. “He looks like Jiyeon.” I continued my sentence. He smiled and replied.”Ah, that guy? Jiyeon’s twin brother.” I was shocked at his answer. “What? Brother? Twin brother? Jiyeon doesn’t have a brother, lest a twin brother! She is the only child in her family.” He looks confused and he gave me a doubting look. “Aish! I’m speaking the truth! I know her really well since she was Sunyoung’s best friend. She is really the only child in her family! If you don’t believe me, go and check yourself!” I answered in an annoyed voice.
