[Chapter 9] MTV: Life of a Rookie Episode 3 --- Part 3

LIMITED ☁ 리미티드 ☁ New Girl Group ☁ [Hiatus]

The girls stared at Woohyun and Myungsoo in shock for a moment. Why hadn’t that suspected this? All of them felt a little stupid for not knowing that this was going to be one of the games. Woohyun meanwhile held a box of pepero in his hand with a gleeful look on his face.

“Why are you so happy, you don’t get to play,” smirked Myungsoo.

“Is that chocolate?” asked Jin Ah, eyeing the box warily.

“Mm yeah,” nodded Myungsoo.

“I can’t play,” she told them.

“You can’t get out of it that easily” laughed Woohyun.

“No seriously, I can’t. I’m allergic to chocolate.” Jinah stared at them with a serious look on her face.

“She’s not joking, Jinah unnie can’t eat chocolate,” Yu said.

“What kind of person is allergic to chocolate!” complained Woohyun.

Jinah narrowed her eyes and he instantly shut up, coughing slightly and then turned to the others, trying to ignore her stone cold glare.

“Well Jinah and Dongwoo don’t have to do this then. But that doesn’t exempt the others. For the couple that goes first, let’s have the girls play rock paper scissors.”

After a short game, it was determined that Yoonmi and Sunggyu would go first, then Yu and Sungjong, Mei Rin and Hoya, then finally Seoyun and Sungyeol.

Yoonmi took the first step, and put one in waiting for Sunggyu to take the opposite end. Sunggyu looked at her and bit his lip a little, suddenly feeling rather nervous.

“Hyung won’t be able to do this,” smirked Sungjong.

“There’s a reason why he’s called “꼴규*” laughed Woohyun, teasing the leader some more.

“He’s always last,” nodded Hoya, adding in his own word.

“YAH!” yelled Sunggyu, frustrated at s. “Aslong as I beat Sungjong it doesn’t matter.”

“Hyung,” pouted Sungjong.

Sunggyu nervously took the other end of the stick, trying to avert his eyes so that he wasn’t looking directly at Yoonmi. Neither shifted so Yoonmi decided to move closer so that it would end sooner. Sunggyu took a small bite and then glanced at Yoonmi. Both instantly averted their eyes and then Sunggyu tore away, unable to keep going. Everyone laughed as Sunggyu blushed and Yoonmi tried not to look too bothered, but she was a little disappointed that they would probably lose. Though she might have had a chance against Mei Rin she figured. Yu and Seoyun probably wouldn’t hold back. Yu dragged Sungjong with her and then pulled a stick out of the box.

“You can have the chocolate end,” she told Sungjong, offering it to him. “Don’t move okay, I’ll come to you.”

“Uhm… okay,” replied Sungjong, a little nervous about her assertiveness.

“I mean it, don’t you dare move,” she warned him. “Only I can move.”

Sungjong gulped slightly as the two took the opposite end. Sungjong did as he was told, and stayed still as Yu took small bites, closer and closer to Sungjong. Their noses were almost touching now and Sungjong shut his eyes tightly, a little worried about how far Yu was going to take it. She kept going… and going. Sungjong squealed and pulled away causing Yu to glare at him.

“YAH! I said don’t move!” she complained.

Next up was Hoya and Mei Rin. Hoya allowed her to have the chocolate end and the two started, each taking turns to take small bites. Hoya was competitive, so he was going to give up too easily. He turned his head, so he could move a little closer to her. The others watched anticipating how far they would go but then Mei Rin pulled away.

“Sorry Hoya-sshi,” she apologised but Hoya didn’t seem to mind too much.

Finally, it was Seoyun and Sungyeol’s turn. The whole group had a bad feeling about these too as Seoyun took one end and Sungyeol quite happily took the other end. The two stared at each other, ignoring the others around them. Sungyeol took a rather large bite forward but it didn’t seem to phase Seoyun who took another bite closer to him. They continued to move closer to each other however Yu had a plan, she refused to be beaten by Seoyun at least.

“Sandeullie oppa won’t be too pleased if he see you two kissing,” she smirked.

“YAH! Who cares about him!” Seoyun pulled away to shout at Seoyun, and the instantly realised her mistake.

The group laughed at her and Sungyeol shook his head in disappointment however still laughed. After comparing the results, it had in fact been Mei Rin and Hoya who won the round, only just beating Yu and Sungjong who were second.

“I hate you,” pouted Seoyun, folding her arms as Yu pinched her cheek with a smirk.

After several games, the points were as follows:

Mei Rin & Hoya: 3 pts

Jinah & Dongwoo: 2pts

Yoonmi & Sunggyu: 1pt

Yu & Sungjong: 3pt

Seoyun & Sungyeol: 1pt

“Okay, so the final game is worth…. However many answers you get right!” exclaimed Woohyun.

“So the other games didn’t matter then?” asked Yu.

“Nope,” smirked Myungsoo.

Before recording the final section, they decided to take a small break since it was already coming up for dinner time, they had to finish before 7pm since the boys had another schedule to head to straight after.

“What do you think of INFINITE?” asked Yoonmi curiously to the rest of the members as she flopped down lazily, she felt like she had been working hard all day and now she just wanted to rest. She had tried to make a good impression but probably knew she had messed it up – never mind.

“Don’t go to sleep,” Mei Rin told her gently. “I think they’re okay. Just a little… rowdy,” she laughed.

“They’re fun,” Seoyun said and Yu nodded her head in agreement.

“I think they’re annoying,” muttered Jinah, adding her opinion into the mix. The others turned to look at her and then Yu gave her a playful kick in the leg.

“You find everything annoying so your opinion doesn’t count for much.”

Jinah glared at the younger girl who smirked back at her triumphantly, it was fun to annoy Jinah despite how scary she seemed on the outside. She wasn’t really that scary, she was just a very out-going person who liked to cause a drama out of everything.

“I feel sorry for Dongwoo,” muttered Seoyun.

“Shut your mouth maknae.”

“Make me!” replied Seoyun.

“Wake me up when they finish arguing,” murmured Yoonmi, closing her eyes.

“No one’s going to be arguing,” Mei Rin said, eyeing the two girls. “Use your energy for the final game you two.”

“I’m going to win,” Seoyun said confidently.

“Only in your dreams,” replied Jinah snarkily.

Yu put her hands on each of their shoulders.

“You two have both got it wrong, everyone knows I’ll be the winner.”

The two girls snapped their heads to look at Yu who let go of them and looked at them smugly.

“Right! Back on set!” yelled a voice.

After the final game where one person had to act out the word on the cards while the other person guessed; Mei Rin and Hoya were in fact the ones to win much to the others dismay. Yu and Sungjong came a close second – and much to the groups surprise, Jinah and Seoyun had ended up with the same score leaving them both third and Yoonmi just a fraction behind them but still leaving her last. However, Yoonmi didn’t really care since she had been a little lazy in her guessing and Sunggyu just wasn’t very good at all.

When it was time for them to head home, Jinah had disappeared and the girls frowned wondering where the hell she could have disappeared to. Mei Rin ruffled her hair at the other leader’s disappearance, wondering if something was wrong with Jinah.

“What’s wrong?” asked Sunggyu who had come over to say good bye to the girls and to congratulate on their hard work.

“Jinah’s disappeared,” Mei Rin sighed, looking around hoping that Jinah would appear soon.

“Really?” Sunggyu glanced at the clock for a moment. “We’ll help you find her,” he offered and she thanked him, nodding her head in acceptance.

Jinah meanwhile was storming back and forth outside, stamping into the ground moodily as he tried to accept her defeat, out of all the things in the world, she really couldn’t accept being beaten. It was all Dongwoo’s fault she decided. Obviously if she had been working alone she would have won quite easily. She kicked a stone rather furiously and it flew through the air… until smashing into a van window causing it to shatter.

“Crap…” Jinah’s eyes lit up and she rushed over, assessing the damage. “Oh man… they’re gonna want me to pay…” she muttered. She looked around, in the hope that there was no security camera’s, perhaps she could just slink off and pretend it wasn’t her. Unfortunately for her, Dongwoo suddenly came out and he gasped loudly at seeing INFINITE’s Van.

“What did you do!” he yelled rushing over. His manager was going to have a fit. He reached out to touch it but Jinah grabbed his wrist.

“Are you stupid?” she asked him. “Don’t touch it, you’ll cut yourself.”

That seemed to set Dongwoo off and suddenly he had grasped a hold of Jinah.

“Are you okay? You didn’t hurt yourself did you? You-“

“YAH cut it out!” yelled Jinah, yanking herself from him. Dongwoo glanced back at their van and then to her again.

“I can fix this,” he told her.

“You what? Did you hit your head or something or are you some magical car fixer or some crap.”

Dongwoo rolled his eyes at her but then perked up, grinning at her.

“I’ll tell them it was me,” he shrugged.

“You’ll get in trouble,” she said, stating the obvious to him.

“Probably, but it doesn’t matter,” Dongwoo smiled. “You have to do something for me though.”

“What?” replied Jinah, narrowing her eyes at him.

“Why do you always look like you’re going to kill me,” sighed Dongwoo. “Give me your number. I had fun with you today, it would be cool if we could hang out again.”

“That’s it?” asked Jinah, looking at him a little suspiciously.

“Yup, unless you wanna give me something more,” teased Dongwoo, winking at her.

“Shut up,” muttered Jinah, punching his arm. “Fine…  but don’t be stalking me or harassing me,” she warned him.

“I won’t” sang Dongwoo, allowing her to put her number into his phone. He rang it just to make sure it was the right number and she didn’t give him some dud number. Jinah was surprised to see him use his brain – so he did actually have one in that head of his.

“Yah! What are you two doing!” yelled Yu, running over to them.

“Dongwoo smashed his vans window by accident,” Jinah shrugged before Dongwoo could back out of their agreement.

“How do you do it by accident?” asked Yu sceptically.

“It can happen,” Dongwoo said. “I better go tell the manager, it would be best to explain before he sees it and freaks out first.”

“Everyone’s been looking for you,” Yu turned to Jinah.

“I was getting some fresh air. We’re leaving anyway aren’t we? So if you had all come out you would have found me sooner,” Jinah replied causing Yu to huff slightly.

In their own van, the girls were rather tired from playing all day. Jinah turned her phone in her hand, looking at it with slightly narrowed eyes. Then it buzzed causing her to jump a little but thankfully no one noticed. She read the text and then she couldn’t help but smirk.

“You owe me remember ;)” it said.

“Did you get in much trouble?” asked Jinah, deciding it would determine how much she owed him.

“If I say a lot, will you be more in debt to me?”

Jinah cursed under her breath but couldn’t help but grin slightly. Perhaps he wasn’t so bad after all. That didn’t mean she liked him though. She decided not to reply, and left it at that.

Author's Note.

Damn you for being allergic to chocolate Jinah! It totally destroyed my plans for this chapter XD I started writing it and then was like... wait... I'm sure I remember reading one of them was allergic to chocolate... But yeah XD I kinda feel the chapter isn't very good until the end when she smashed the van window - totally by accident! Promise XD

Next chapter is a new episode and will have EXO-K (no M I'm afriad), NU'EST AND B.A.P! Awesome right? It's kind of a rookies get together episode hehehe. I don't know the girl rookies groups such as Hello Venus so I'm not including them.

*꼴규 - Go watch INFINITE's Ranking King hehe. Basically it's what they call Sunggyu because he keeps losing.
