Chapter 34: The New Friend

Unfortunately for Youngmi, Heechul didn't agree to the whole pastor -slash- judge thing which made them both settle for a plain good judge instead. Siwon was in dismay too however respected his hyung's decisions.

The operation was a success and unbeknownst to Heechul, Youngmi had paid for Hye Rin's fees. The girl was placed back in her room after the operation for recovery. According to Dr. Yang, the girl would wake up in 2 or 4 days then would probably need checkups every 4 weeks after discharge to track the progress.

2 days passed by and there were only 5 more months on the clock;

Youngmi was sitting alone inside a restaurant by the window, enjoying a plate of an American breakfast: a chocolate muffin, 2 pieces of pancakes with syrup and a hot cup of warm cafe latte. The waitress came and set a bowl of vanilla ice cream that she had ordered; Youngmi looked up to the girl and said a quiet thank you

“You're Dr. Nam, right?”

The waitress chimed, Youngmi nodded her head with a smile. The girl's eyes lit up as she clasped the tray in her hands.

“Omo, it's such an honor to meet you!”

Youngmi held oout her hand that the girl shook;

“It's nice to meet you too... uhm...”

“Haera”

Youngmi's eyes widened a bit in surprise at her name

“Oh, you have the same name as our wedding coordinator”

“Chincha?”

Youngmi giggled and nodded her head

“Deh”

Haera looked back behind her after releasing Youngmi's hand and scratched the back of her neck sheepishly.

“I guess I should get back to work now, sorry for disturbing you Ms. Nam”

Youngmi waved both her hands infront of her

“Ani! It's okay, it's nice to have someone to talk to”

Haera couldn't help but smile. No wonder Heechul liked her, she was over all a nice girl; if people took time to really know her then maybe she won't have so much antis. Although it did disappoint Haera at first when she heard Heechul's plans of getting married already now she understood just why Heechul chose the doctor.

Haera went away while Youngmi had returned to eating her breakfast. A few moment or so later, she asked for the bill which another waitress had given her, she took out some bills and placed it on the table before getting her bag and leaving.

“Haera, could you get the money from that table?”

Asked one of her co-workers. The happy go lucky girl smiled and nodded her head before making her way to the table where the doctor had sat on. As she picked up the money, she couldn't help but notice an iPhone with a baby blue polka dot case lying beside the plate.

“Eh?”

she picked up the phone and unlocked it, finding a wallpaper of Heechul and Dr. Nam. She gasp upon the realization that it belonged to the doctor. She was cut off her shocked state when it began to rang and the name HEECHUL was showing on the screen. Her heart began to race; was she going to answer it or not?

'OH GOD! IT'S KIM HEECHUL CALLING! SHOULD I?! ARRRGH!'

Haera slid her finger on the screen and brought the phone to her ear; her hands were shaking

“Yah, Youngmi-ah! Where are you? Listen, my cousin and sister wants to have lunch with us tomorrow. Are you there? Yah, Youngmi-ah!”

Haera swallowed the lump in ; her cheeks were burning. The actual Kim Heechul was on the other line!

“U-uh s-sorry but this isn't Y-Y-Youngmi-ssi”

“Bwo? Did I dial the wrong number... aish, no it can't be... Who is this?”

“H-Haera”

“Wedding Coordi? What are you doing with Youngmi's phone? Did she drop by there?”

“A-Aniyo, D-Dr. Nam left her phone and -”

“Where is she? Where are you?”

“She left but I was planning on looking for her to return her phone”

“Aish, that silly girl leaving her phone just anywhere... tsk, uh Youngmi and I are meeting up later, why don't you bring the phone over?”

Kim Heechul was inviting her to meet him and his fiancee later.

Haera's heart raced, her ears and cheeks burned and her whole body was spazzing in joy, excitement and anxiousness! She put a hand over to keep her from screaming

“Are you there? Hello?”

“Deh! Deh, I-I'll bring the phone over later... m-may I ask who is this?”

“Figuring that you answered the phone, you must've seen the caller I.D., Haera-ssi”

Heechul smirked on the other line; Haera was shaking.

“Heechul-ssi?”

“Deh ~ are you perhaps a petal? Hm, anyway I have to go now, Youngmi's phone has a password so there's nothing to worry about... anyway, I'll call you again later around 2 Haera-ssi, please take care of Youngmi's phone for now, Annyeong!”

the other line then went off. Haera heaved in some air and screamed at the top of her lungs startling her co-workers, good thing there was not customer there though. She sheepishly scratched back of her head and bowed in apology.

Youngmi got out of her car, she reached into her bag to get her phone but only to be struck with lightning when she found out that it wasn't there.

“Oh no”

She rummaged through her bag some more but after some time, the phone really wasn't there. She tried to retrace her memories, the places she went before she got at the gown shop in Itaewon.

She went to the flower shop to see the bridesmaids and the maid of honors' bouquets after that she also passed by the invitation shop then she also grabbed a box of donuts from the doughnut shop to bring to the boys later. She let out a sigh and decided to be bothered by it later, she had to see her wedding gown now.

Meanwhile, the girl who got her phone was staring continuously at the phone that lied infront of her in the kitchen area. Her co-worker noticed her dazed look and placed two hands on her shoulders

“Earth to Heara ~ what are you doing?”

The thing about the restaurant she worked at was, it was one of those five star restaurants thing and only people who had money could eat there which is why they rarely have customers. Haera blinked her eyes and quickly took the phone, burying it in her pocket.

“Nothing unnie!”

“Eh? Who's phone was that? I don't remember you buying a new iPhone”

Her cheeks flushed red and she began to stammer

“U-uh, it belongs to a friend of mine”

“Are you sure?”

Her co-worker crossed her arms over her chest and looked at Haera suspiciously. The girl raised her right hand and nodded her head

“Promise!”

“Hm... alright then, by the way it's almost 12, your shift's gonna end...”

The girl said before walking off; Haera looked at the clock and smiled, taking off her apron and running to the employee's room to change.

“Oppa, I lost my phone”

Youngmi spoke onto the phone; she had borrowed the gown shop's telephone to call her fiance and let him know just in case he calls it.

“Aish, you and your carelessness but don't worry, someone has it”

Her eyes lit up

“Who?”

“I called your phone earlier and someone answered it by the name of Haera, no not our wedding coordinator, I told her to bring it later”

“Haera-ssi! Thank goodness”

she breathed out in relief

“Eh? You know her?”

“Deh, she's this girl from the restaurant I had breakfast in, wait... why didn't you just drive by and get the phone?”

Heechul let out an exasperated sigh on the other line

“I'm too lazy besides I had schedules... anyway, I'll see you later okay? And oh, we're having lunch with a cousin of mine and sister tomorrow, annyeong!”

Without waiting for her reply, Heechul put the phone down. Youngmi sighed but atleast she knows who had phone and in a couple of hours, she'll be with her baby again. No, not Heechul, her phone.

Heechul sat down with Sungmin & Leeteuk inside a restaurant, they were going to have a nice late lunch with Youngmi and they've already ordered food. Youngmi arrived shortly and greeted the boys, taking a seat next to Heechul across Sungmin.

“Have you called her yet?”

Youngmi asked; the food arrived. Heechul puffed out a sigh, he had forgotten about that and asked Sungmin to call Youngmi's phone; Youngmi waited for the other line to pick up, he heard a girl's shaking voice on the other line

“Y-Yeoboesyo? S-Sungmin-ssi?”

“Deh, I'm calling about noona's phone, Heechul-hyung said you'd be meeting up with them, are you going here now?”

“Ah, are you with them?”

“Deh, we're having late lunch right now, noona's waiting for you here”

Youngmi picked up her chopsticks and began to eat; Heechul and Leeteuk were too hungry to comment

“D-deh, I'm on my way now”

“Araso, please take care getting here! I'm hanging up now”

Sungmin smiled and hung up then began to eat and said

“She's on her way here”

Youngmi smiled and glanced at Heechul who seemed to be too hungry to talk

“She's a nice girl”

Heechul scoffed to the side, chewing thoroughly and swallowed before speaking

“Because your phone has a password, do you know how many photos both private and public we have there?”

Leeteuk looked at the two with a teasing smile

“Heeey ~ do you two have pictures doing bobo?”

Youngmi laughed while Heechul flustered, the meat almost fell off from his mouth. Sungmin giggled, bringing his hands to his face and laughing to the side which suggested to his two hyungs that he knew something.

“Yah, Sungmin-ah! What do you know? Why are laughing?'

Heechul asked, getting redder. Sungmin turned to Youngmi who quietly laughed too.

“Noona showed me a picture of you wearing her bra and a pink boxer”

Heechul's eyes widened; he was betrayed! Leeteuk cracked out laughing, he turned to Youngmi with a glare

“I deleted it oppa, don't worry”

A waiter came by and excused himself for interrupting the group. He said that a girl was supposedly looking for them, saying she had an appointment with them. Youngmi confirmed the meeting with the girl and moments later he came back with the guest. Youngmi got up from her seat with a smile.

“Haera-ssi”

The girl smiled and bowed; Leeteuk, Sungmin & Heechul also got up as Youngmi introduced the girl. Haera was feeling jumpy, there she was infront of 3/15 of Super Junior's members! But instead of jumping around and screaming, she only put on a giddy smile and heaven had opened up to her when the members shook her hands.

“I heard you have my phone”

Youngmi sent her back to the face of the earth; she opened her bag and reached for the phone inside, smiled then handed it over to Youngmi.

“Aigo, thank you so much Haera-ssi, please take a seat”

Haera was surprised at the invitation

“A-aniyo, it's okay Ms. Nam -”

Leeteuk placed a hand on her shoulder making her freeze and her ears burned up, turning red.

“Aigo, please sit down and have lunch with us, we insist”

Sungmin smiled cutely at her and it sent her face into flames; Heechul giggled and turned to Youngmi who was smiling at the awestruck Haera

“She's an ELF, huh Youngmi?”

Youngmi chuckled; Sungmin pulled up the seat beside him and after some convincing she sat down; Youngmi ordered for her and together they all ate the late lunch. Haera grew quite comfortable after some time.

“Should I call you yeodonsaeng or unnie, Haera-ssi?”

Youngmi asked with a warm smile on her face; Haera blushed when Heechul smiled at her aswell

“You're actually older than me, Ms. Nam”

“Ah then please call me unnie, you can call them oppa, she can, right guys?”

“Ofcourse! ELFs call us oppa”

Leeteuk chirped; Haera smiled shyly. Lunch flew, Sungmin had no schedule afterwards so he was going with the couple to see their wedding coordinator, Youngmi & Heechul paid the bill and they all began to get up from their seats.

“Thank you for returning my phone, yeodonsaeng”

Youngmi smiled at her once more and bowed in great thanks. Haera smiled and bowed her head aswell, Leeteuk turned to her.

“Haera-ssi, where are you heading off to?”

“I'm just gonna go home, oppa”

“We should exchange numbers Haera-ssi, I'd like to keep in touch with you”

Youngmi said; Haera smiled and nodded her hand in agreement, Youngmi handed her the phone and she typed on her number afterwards Youngmi called her number and smiled.

“Just save it, Haera-ssi”

“I wanna trade numbers too ~”

Sungmin chirped and so they did. Before parting ways, they all took a group photo that Heechul & Leeteuk posted on their twitters.

@special1004: Met a new friend today! KEKEKEKE ~ there are still good people in world! Youngmi & @Heedictator treated us to lunch! I hope tomorrow too ^^

“She was really nice, hyung”

Sungmin said, the three of them drove to see Haera the coordinator after dropping off the other Haera at a bus stop; Leeteuk had a schedule so the van had fetched him. Heechul was driving Youngmi's car.

“Sungmin-ah, do you like her?”

Heechul , glancing at Sungmin, through the rear view mirror, who seemed to be startled at his hyung's question. Youngmi stiffled a giggle in her seat and looked at Sungmin through the mirror aswell.

“A-aniyo! Aigo ~ I just said she's really nice”

Youngmi turned to Sungmin who ad his eyes on his phone; she presumed he was texting Haera.

“Why don't you invite her as your date to the wedding? Your hyungs and donsaengs are gonna get dates too you know”

Heechul raised a brow and took a quick look at her then focused on the road

“Eh? You're inviting her to the wedding because of your phone?”

Youngmi turned to her driving fiance

“Oppa, do you know how many important contacts are here? I have patients, co-doctors, friends, college buddies, highschool buddies, and family here plus I have important dates saved here and notes, it's basically my life line!”

Heechul puffed out a sigh and rolled his eyes

“I guess she's alright”

Youngmi smiled.
