I get sad when my favourite story updates and I find out, it's an author note or a poll or promotion of another fanfic.

I like to steer away from these as much as possible because it's disappointing you know

It would be better if a chapter for the story was provided and you say whatever you need to at the bottom.

Also, I dislike littles notes in the middle of the chapter and things like that.

And notes in the description that says, "(I know he's 19 but I'm gonna make him 25 in this)"

Look Author-nim, you dont need to care what people say about his age! This is your fanfic and if you want Kai to be 25, then hell, he WILL BE!

To add to that, I've come across fanfics that have characters address the author. For example:

"It wasn't my fault. Blame the author"

And then the author intervenes in the chapter writing, "Look, I made you! Don't make me kill you off"

Then the character responds, "Oh no readers. Help me from this beast"

I just find it so cheesy and a bit lame. It's a way to make readers laugh I guess, but it just doesn't work for me.

Lastly, I really really do not like it when Authors say "I need 50 subscribers before I can update"

"Comment or no more chapter"

"10 comments or no update"

It's kind of unfair to those readers who are appreciating what you write. Yes, it may be not so nice seeing just 3 subs or 5 comments, but sometimes you need faith in yourself and maybe one day, you'll get lucky. You might say that I'm the last person to say this, but I believe that I was just lucky.
