Something else that bothers me.

When authors dump a whole song in their chapter in one go. Maybe because the character is singing it or whatever, but do you know what my reaction to that it?

I scroll right past it and continue reading the story.

I'm sorry to say but it's the truth. I can handle small pieces of verses in between the chapter but when there is a whole song, non-stop, I shall not read it.

I think it's not necessary for it. You can either simply state what the song is, or like I said before, put in lyrics in small doses and maybe write why the lyrics may be significant to the story or just something going on around the characters.

I think then, it will bore less and readers will enjoy reading the chapter.

Lyrics are a great addition but if it's not done in good way then it can fail to leave an imprint on readers.
