Blah di blah blah
Fanfic PeevesHave any of you come across fanfics, or even books, that just RAMBLE ON AND ON AND ON!
I have read this fanfic and one time a book where the author wrote TOO much description.
Of course, when you're writing, you want to be able to describe the situation the best you can and make it entertaining to read as well.
But there are times where there is so much in between speech that you just skim through and skip.
For example [making this up]
"So will you give me this one last chance?" he said.
I didn't know what to say. Yes? No? Maybe I should say yes. We've been through so much together and I really don't want to let him go. But how will I ever trust him again. Could I really be capable of that? Would he even ever change for me now? Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah!
"Yes."
All this description for one word.
It's like that thing where I write 124564657852123 and you don't bother to read all those numbers just to get to the point.
My advice, for a fanfic, don't stress to make your writing impressive. Hell, with my fics, especially the trilogy, I don't write as much as I could between speech [except for s and probably Love, Blood and War has more writing...].
Ooh, I have another example. Have any of you read A Series of Unfortunate Events? Well, one of the books, there was a never ending lost of things of stuff from whatever it was and it last for a good couple of pages!! I gave up on the first page.
