C H A P T E R - O N E

I’m weakly walking here.

Absent minded.

Everything seems to be so complicated.

I'm currently 16 years old. But people say I look younger.

I'm half American, quarter Korean and quarter Chinese.

I'm alone in life.

When I was 6 years old, I saw how my mom and dad fought and screamed at each other.

I vividly saw how my dad molested my mom.

It broke my heart seeing them ruin their own family.

What hurts me more is the fact that I couldn't do a thing.

Since then, they got divorced.

My full custody was entrusted on my mom.

I lived with my Mom for 2 weeks.

Those 2 weeks seemed to be long and tiring, seeing my mom sleep with different guys every night.

My life was a living hell not until my Mom took me with her at the market.

She then, I don’t know if accidentally or purposely left me, abandoned me.

I became homeless and starved for 3 days at the age of 6.

Because of hunger, I learned how to snatch wallets from people’s pockets.

Until one day, an old man caught me and grabbed my arm, dragging me somewhere.

I was scared.

The first thing that came on my mind was the police station.

I believed that he was going to take me there.

But I was wrong.

We stopped at a restaurant and he let me eat whatever I want.

He offered me his home and adopted me.

After 2 days of resting, the old kind man named Lee Hoon took me into a very luxurious building.

He told me that I would be training for years here.

Being a 6 year old kid, I don’t know what he meant.

I just nodded and followed him.

From then on, I became a Good Entertainment Trainee.

But the destiny is not good to me all the time.

As I gain age, my trainee friends are debuting one by one.

Leaving me alone.

When I was 14 years old, new batch of trainees came and its embarrassed to admit, I was the only trainee left from our batch.

All of them debuted already.

Lee Hoon was very disappointed with me and let me live on my own.

He rented a condo unit for me.

He 's paying it and he's also in charge of my expenses.

I'm kinda lucky to have this man.

He told me that even though I'm not his real daughter, he considered me as one.

He told me that he was very blessed to have found me snatching wallets at the streets.

I'm now 16 and my life is more miserable.

My boyfriend just broke up with me saying that I'm lame and good for nothing.

From the start, I knew my boyfriend… err.. Ex-boyfriend was hiding something from me.

That just means that he doesn’t love me.

He’s always busy at morning.

He only has time to call or text me every night.

He never told me about his job.

And now, my best friend is starting to hate me for no reason.

NO REASON. I SWEAR.

She told me that I have no talent that’s why it’s been 10 year s already and I haven’t debuted yet.

She started to be the EunAh I never knew.

She’s not the EunAh I’ve grown up being with.

Since my ex-boyfriend lost communication with me, I lost her as well.

It’s kinda weird that me and my ex-boyfriend were loosing all communication.

I still have his contact number but he’s not picking up.

I sat at a rusty bench at the park when a sweet couple passed by, my eyes flushed tons of tears.

I can’t hold it.

I just cried silently.

Until a pretty girl approached me, sat next to me and talked to me.

"Agassi.. Waegure?" She asked, caressing my back. (miss.. why?)

My cry became miserable when someone comforted me.

"Me and my boyfriend broke up.. Eottokhe? And my best friend.. I'm slowly loosing her." I managed to say between my sobs. (eottokhe=what do i do?)

She suddenly turned back.

I think it was for about a couple of minutes then she faced me again.

I memorized her features.

She has a very fair complexion and it went well with her wide eyes.

Cute reddish cheeks and pink lips.

This lady is beautiful.

She is the cute-sy ulzzang type.

"What's your name?" She asked.

"Shinah imnida~" I answered while wiping my tears.

"Young lady, Shinah, since Unnie is very kind, I'm giving you this anklet and this diary. This diary has no literal key. It's for you to find out. Do not over-use this diary, arasso? Take care of this and yourself." She told me, gaving me the diary and the anklet and left.

I furrowed my eyebrows.

That lady is REALLY beautiful but is she somewhat mentally retarded?

I dont even know her!

Now, I'm doubting If I should accept this or not.

Suddenly my phone beeped.

To: Shinah ^^

Msg: Shinah.. Where are you? Please go back here at the GE building. Lee Hoon- Sajangnim is looking for you. I think he is angry. And I have something to say. :( Pali!

Fr: YoonJa

When I read it, I quickly drove off to Good Entertainment's Building and headed towards Aboji's office.

I bowed and greeted him.

He stood up, half-glaring at me.

"Tarawa." He said and I followed. (tarawa=follow me)

We arrived at the practice room.

"Aboji.. Waeyo?" I asked politely. (father.. why?)

"Show me what you learned. Sing, dance and act. RIGHT NOW! You've been a trainee for 10 years now and I want to see if you've sharpen up." He said.

I did as what he said.

At the end of my performance, he slapped his forehead using his palm.

"Shinah.. I've been topping up your credit card every month. I think you should just look for a BETTER job. The one that fits you. The entertainment world doesn't seem to agree with you. I'm sorry dear but I'm eliminating you as a trainee here at Good Entertainment. We have no more room for STUCK TRAINEES. I hope you understand." He said and just left.

I felt my chest burning as the staff gave me the video camera.

Afterwards, YoonJa approached me.

"Chingu.. Mianhaeyo.. But I have to tell you this.. I just found out that your Ex Boyfriend and EunAh are dating.." (chingu.. mianhaeyo=friend.. Im sorry)
