It wasn't the end. It was the beginning of something new.

The decades-old organization ended, but a new one rose from its corpse. Like a phoenix dying in flames and being born again.

It is reborn. The start of something new.

It differs from the previous one. It wasn't its continuation. It is the beginning of something new. A new set of members, a new set of values, and a new leader.

Jeon Jungkook, a man whom everyone presumed was dead, was of course alive. He wasn't that stupid to let himself killed over a petty thing. He was discovered alive by the org then sent to his family. That's when the Jeons decided to hide him in the mainland in hopes that he would stay away from danger.

He started working as a vocal coach in a company which attempts to rival BH Entertainment, HY Entertainment. Of course, he won't show his face anymore to BH Entertainment after what he did to them. He has a passion for singing which he didn't fully explore because he was an elite. Now that he is hidden from other elites, he decided to pursue his passion instead. He would've wanted to become an idol, but again the isle would know that he is alive.

One ordinary lunch break, he went out by himself to eat ramyeon. It has already been a year since he started working there, yet he finds it difficult to make friends. He rarely talked to his co-workers except a guy named Namjoon who is a rap coach and a producer. Normally he would go out to have lunch with him, but these days were probably an exception, because Namjoon's child contracted the flu. Fatherly instincts tell him to go home and care for his child, thus leaving Jungkook alone for lunch.

After eating his lunch, he decided to take a stroll for a while. Normally, he is unable to do this as Namjoon is strict when it comes to time. Now that his child is sick, Jungkook was able to take a stroll for a while, breathe fresh air, do a little thinking and reflect, and appreciate little things.

Things do happen for a reason. Namjoon's child became sick in order for Jungkook to take a stroll.

While walking, he spotted a familiar figure. He knew that person was familiar to him, yet he had a hard time recognizing him. That must've been the effect of living on the mainland for a year will do to him.

He decided to approach the person, hoping that he may be able to recognize the person. And he did.

Just one meter ahead of him was a person he once fooled, the threatened. A person he had not seen for over a year. A person whom everyone also thought was dead.

Park Seonghwa.

Unlike Jungkook who is an urban guy, Seonghwa is a rural guy. After choosing to abandon s in the middle of the countryside, he figured out that he needed to avoid being tracked. The route their car went was the route to one of the orgs hideouts near the mainland. He decided to stay away from the route first to avoid being found. Along the way to nowhere, he left his phone and some of his belongings, which was given to him earlier by s, in order to avoid being tracked. He destroyed it then buried it somewhere. He continued walking until he found a town to stay.

It was already evening when he arrived, so he decided to go to the town's sauna as it allowed people to stay overnight. It is a good thing that he brought physical money with him, a practice he might've got as a son of a lender, and as an accounting student.

First night passed and he figured out he needed money. At first he has a hard time figuring out where to work because he needs a new identity. He started doing errand work which lasted him three days in the sauna. He needs to earn money in order to live.

He does not know why he still wanted to live. During his first days there, he wanted to die. He doesn't have the will to live anymore. He regretted everything he did. He questioned if it was right for him to live after everything he did. He is guilty and tired.

However, something is forcing him to live. He doesn't know what will make him live. He doesn't have a dream anymore. He doesn't have something to yearn for.

When he was a child, he wanted to become a policeman. As a teen he dreamt of becoming an accountant. And as a young adult he wanted to be the murderer of his brother's murderer.

Now he went back to zero again. He can't be a policeman because he was a fugitive. He can't be an accountant because he dropped from college. He can't be the murderer of his brother's murderer because he is unable to kill her.

He does not have something to work hard on. He does not look forward to anything at all. He is just living without a cause. The only thing which helped him live might've been because he subconsciously like the idea of living.

He wants to live for the sake of living.

He figured out that he can't live in the sauna for more than a week since the personnel starts to get suspicious. He needed to find a place to live in. Luckily for him, an old couple is hiring a helper. The benefits are free lodging and a reasonable salary. Of course he decided to take the risk.

Another lucky thing was that the old couple didn't have many requirements as they needed help immediately so they hired him. They only needed his name.

"My name is Park Kyung."

He took his brother's name as an alias to avoid being found.

It turns out the old man was sick so it was only a month of being hired until the man died. His wife explained that the two of them didn't have any children. The two of them took care of each other until death. Seonghwa was the first person whom they considered to be a child even for just a month. The wife followed soon after two months. Before she died, she gave their belongings to Seonghwa. It was worthless though, he signed it with a fake name so he can't claim it.

He continued to live from the couple's money and by doing some errands. Two months later, a group of people who did the census came.

Authorities don't usually bother him. He was seen by police a couple of times, but was ignored because the old man was once an important figure in the military. They didn't question his appearance, they even greeted him when he passed by. It was like he had immunity from heaven.

The people taking the census were persistent. At first, he hid from them, but they came back the other day. They did this for five days straight. People around him started to get suspicious. He decided that he needs to leave the place.

Before leaving, he took everything valuable then headed off to the mainland hideout. He theorized that the org had truly disbanded and had abandoned their bases. It's been about six month since it happened.

He went to their mainland hideout three or four times. He could still remember its direction and the markers on the way. Luckily, one of the things he inherited from the old couple was an old motorcycle. Sure, it was rusted, but it is still working. Off he went to the hideout.

The hideout was one of the buildings the Kim family bought in the mainland. It was used for missions in the mainland. Seonghwa had participated in those, but it was quite a rare occurrence as most missions were executed in the isles.

When reached there, he was right. It was abandoned. No one's there.

White Liars had disbanded.

"They've disbanded."

"What?"

Just three minutes earlier, Jungkook approached Seonghwa, trying to recognize him, and he did. That's when Seonghwa turned around and saw him. He was shocked as well. Jungkook expected him to run, but he didn't. Instead, he looked at him from head to toe.

"Seonghwa?"

"You're here?"

"You're also here?"

Days after being treated for his gunshot wound, Jungkook woke up. He woke up disoriented, but eventually he remembered what happened. He was curious after what happened after that day. Luckily, his cousin, Jeon Soyeon, who was also a member of the org, informed him about what happened. He learnt about the death of Ilhoon, then Seonghwa's damage, and Seonghwa being hospitalized and the org's plan to retrieve him. He was also told about Mark's raid being "unsuccessful" after noticing (which actually failed) that there are no items stolen.

He was then pushed by his parents to hide in the mainland for his safety which he obeyed. He left knowing that the org was still successful. Now, he realized it wasn't.

"Oh, so they hid you here." Jungkook realized the wrong thing.

"No, I went here by my own will."

"Really? And they let you go after you betrayed us?"

"They've disbanded."

"What?"

"They're gone."

"What? How? After all my sacrifices, they just ended?"

"They realized late that a file was missing. The file contained a list of members and their work, but it wasn't substantial evidence. The members didn't realize that so they panicked and cut all ties."

"You're joking right?"

"I'm not."

"No, you are. If they dissolved, I should've been informed by my family."

"Don't you realize it? The moment you were sent here, you've also been kicked out by the org. There's no use in informing you."

"They could've informed me as a family."

"They don't consider you as a part of their family anymore."

"What?"

"Or maybe they chose not to tell you because they knew you would go back there. Either way you can't get info from them unless you personally go there."

"I definitely would. Bye. I'm gonna pack my things now."

"Are you stupid?"

"Did you just call me stupid?"

"Yes. There's no point in going back there. You'll be hunted."

"Why would I even take a word from a traitor like you? I'm going there personally to confirm if they've disbanded. Don't worry, I still have my elite card and I also have my car to go there."

"Stubborn."

"God, your mouth. I can't count how many insults you throw at me today."

"If you got offended by it, then it means it is true."

"What the is that reasoning?"

"A good one. Anyway, I have evidence if you're interested."

"How the hell did you even get that? Were you even present by the time they disbanded?"

"No."

"Then explain to me what the you are even trying to do to me."

"I told you, I'm giving you advice."

"Why would I even believe your words? You left us, remember?"

"Like I said, I have valid evidence for this. We are just circling this conversation back and forth."

"How the do you even have a valid evidence for an event that you weren't even present?"

"Come with me."

"Why would I even go with a traitor like you?"

"Because you'll die if you don't believe me."

"I'll die if I come with you."

"Here's a knife, feel free to use it when you feel threatened." He said as he handed his knife to Jungkook.

"So can I use it now?"

"Can you commit murder in a public place?"

"Of course not. Is the knife the only thing that you'll give me? How do I guarantee that you don't have a gun? How do I guarantee that you won't imprison me?"

"You're so ing annoying."

"I know."

"Fine, I give up. Go back if you want to. It seems that I can't stop you."

"Good. I'll leave in the evening."

"Good luck."

Seonghwa headed straight to his home, which was once a hideout of the now disbanded org. It was located in the outskirts of Seoul, only accessible by the road which Seonghwa was left on.

Back when he first went there, he made sure that no one was inside. Seeing that there wasn't a single bit of light inside the building, he tried to enter the building. He tried to climb it to reach its windows, but it was to
