Song HyeSoo has almost everything any female highschool student would want. Good grades, a beautiful face, a great reputation, a supportive family, amazing friends, and, most of all, a charming boyfriend- No MinWoo. There is, however, one place where HyeSoo has always been a bit lacking. Regular hospital checkups have been a part of her life for as long as she and anyone else can remember. When one day HyeSoo's tests come back irregularly, everything in her world collapses. Then, he came- the perfect nurse, No MinWoo.

"Song HyeSoo! Are you coming to the game tonight?"
A well-figured girl, HyeSoo, slowed her stride and turned back to see her friend- Kim HyoYeon. She waited long enough for HyoYeon to catch up and then responded, "I can't, sorry." She smiled weakly, gripping the shoulderstraps of her panda backpack tightly. "I've been a little under the weather lately. My parents decided to schedule a last-minute test."
HyoYeon sighed and shrugged, "Ah, what can we do." Taking in a deep breath, she nudged HyeSoo and murmured jokingly, "Yah, you're always under the weather." With a light note of concern she continued, "What's making your parents so concerned?"
HyeSoo laughed and brushed off the topic, "Parents will be parents."
HyoYeon didn't look convinced but decided not to press the matter, "Well, if your parents give the okay and you have time, make sure you drop by, okay?"
The brunette winked at her friend, "You can bet on me being there."
With that, HyoYeon waved at her friend and headed off on her own to the right.
HyeSoo, like usual, turned left, making her way to the Songs' car that was always parked exactly one and a half blocks west of the school entrance.
Just another day, just another checkup, the teenager thought pleasantly to herself, not thinking twice about the abnormalities that her life held. She didn't bother to consider that it was unusual to always have the car parked exactly there. The light-hearted, young highschooler ignored the fact that she visited the hospital nearly as much as she "visited" her own home. She refused to acknowledge that her social activities were extremely limited because of her condition.
This was the life she'd always lived. She'd come to accept that, as had her classmates. She, and they, purposefully lived in blissful ignorance of the shadow hanging over her.
At a very young age, Song HyeSoo was diagnosed with a case of CLL, or chronic lymphoid leukemia. This is most common in male adults over fifty, so her family was shocked when they found out that their little HyeSoo was in danger. Luckily, she tested negatively for ZAP-70, putting her life expectancy up to over 25 more years.
Over twenty-five years. She'd live to be at least twenty-seven or twenty-eight. At least.
HyeSoo's parents weren't content with that. They took caution to the extreme, making sure that there was absolutely no chance that that twenty-five year span would be cut short.
The bright girl lived under the shelter of a very supportive community. She was never made fun of; in fact, she was well-respected and liked. She was unable to participate in any sports, but for some reason she always had friends that were closer and stronger than any of the clubs and teams. HyeSoo lived in the perfect world.
When she entered highschool, she had crushes on boys just like any of the other girls. She maintained good grades and good relationships, and, finally, at the end of her freshman year, the boy of her dreams confessed. He wasn't particularly anything special at the time. He was sweet, cute, and funny. He wasn't the captain, but he started on the baseball team. He was the highschool's first-choice catcher- No. Min. Woo.
The two were an amazing couple. The sweetest, prettiest girl in Hat-Bit High together with a budding young man. No one, not even HyeSoo's parents, considered the pain and suffering that could come in the future.
That's because, after all, it was in the future. The far future.
By her sophomore year in highschool, the twenty-five years had been stretched to a whopping fourty. The effects of the leukemia were at what seemed like a near stand still. That is, as long as she and her family continued their routine. Visit the hospital in the morning, check at night. And so they did.
This is where our story starts. It is the end of HyeSoo's sophomore year, approaching the end of the baseball season. It is on the night that the team's biggest game that year was played.
Of course, being the wonderful girlfriend that she was, HyeSoo went to watch.
Author's Note;;
In all honesty, I have been playing with the thought of this story for years. It started as imaginary characters and slowly transferred into the fanfic genre. During my time at SJWorld, I assured myself that I'd start this fic when I finished "Chanced! Into Me" and its sequel, "Java Bean." Unfortunately, C!IM was a big flop. It still holds a special, incomplete place in my heart, but Perfect Nurse is slowly filling it. ='D
The original intended stars were to be Kim Heechul and Lee Sungmin from Super Junior. As I have, with no regrets, moved on from that craze, I've decided to take a fresh start and play on two very incredible mens' names: No MinWoo, the actor and former TRAX member Rose, and No MinWoo the member of the charming young lively Boyfriend.
I have high hopes for this fic, mostly because I write angst and pain much better than anything else, so I have a feeling that the empathy in my writing will transfer through to my readers. ^(^ - ^)^ Let this fic be received enthusiastically! Perfect Nurse hwaiting! Kamsahapnida. *bows-

No MinWoo
HyeSoo's new personal nurse assigned by the hospital when her normal nurse went on maternity leave. New to the nursing program, he hasn't quite gripped the concept of "be nice no matter what." He's young, brilliant, and cocky. Sarcasm is his favorite tool. Despite his rough appearance, like all nurses, he does have a soft side and knows when to use it. Though how he acts is sometimes unacceptable by the rules, he's just what Song HyeSoo needs.
Song HyeSoo
A beautiful, but sickly, teenage girl. Purposefully living in ignorance, she refuses to recognize that her life span is limited and that almost everything she does is monitored by her overly cautious parents. Unconsciously trying to make up for what she lacks, HyeSoo has made herself the ideal girl. She is warm, pretty, and smart. Not the smallest shadow of insecurity is lurking inside her heart- at least, so everyone thinks.
No MinWoo
HyeSoo's boyfriend of over a year. Sweet, caring, and romantic, MinWoo is the average "good" teenage boy. Because he is very serious when it comes to his responsibilities, despite his young face, he is able to give off a manly aura. He understands HyeSoo better than anyone, and seemingly always knows exactly what to do. HyeSoo didn't fall for him because of this, though. She fell for what he always tries to hide- the playful child deep inside.
