PREVIEW OF "BORROWED FROM GOD"

"Do you like it? I spent the whole day yesterday arranging it . . . I knew you would love all the changes I made in your room," Hikaru said with a smile.

"Thank you . . . I really miss this place. It's like I feel so free again. . . " Mukades said with a sigh.

"You're the one who's making it so hard for yourself. You can easily stay here and just live like a princess . . . but you're choosing a much harder life," Hikaru commented.

"You're starting to nag again," Mukades reminded her friend.

"Sorry . . . I was just telling you what's on my mind," Hikaru said as she slowly took out the clothes from the bag she was holding.

"It's over, Hikaru. I have already decided a long time ago. This is my dream. Can't you understand me? After two months . . . I am going back. And I will finally fulfill my dream . . ." Mukades said with a glitter of happiness in her eyes.

"But that isn't your dream Muko . . . that is your grandmother's dream that she persistently entered into your mind," Hikaru protested.

"Hikaru . . . are we going to argue again? No one forced me to do this. I wanted to do this all on my own," Mukades tried to explain.

"I just don't want you to make a mistake. And I don't want you to be so far away from me . . . Do you know I am always worried about you?" Hikaru said with concern.

Mukades smiled, then she slowly sat down beside Hikaru. "I know you're just worried about me. But I'm almost 18 now. I'm no longer the little girl that you keep on protecting," she gently said as she laid down her head on Hikaru's lap. She started to feel the very familiar feeling of being safe and loved.

"I am your sister forever . . . I promised that I will take care of you . . . and that is what I am going to do. I know you're making a mistake . . . And I will do everything just to stop you from fulfilling your so-called dream. . . I will do everything . . . even if you hate me . . . ."

Micky looked at Hikaru with shock in his eyes. “What are you saying? Are you insane? You’re her sister . . . how can you ask me to sleep with her?”

“I know she likes you and I can tell that you like her too . . . I think it would be better for her to sleep with you than someone else . . .” Hikaru answered calmly.

“Are you thinking straight? You’re asking me to your sister! Are you human?” Micky asked with anger in his eyes.

Hikaru tried to smile. “If you can’t do it . . . I can find someone else. You don’t have to be so over reacting . . .”

“Why? Why are you doing this to your own sister?” Micky asked with so many different thoughts running in his mind.

“Why?” Hikaru asked as sadness filled her eyes. “I am doing this for her own good. . . I am doing this to stop her from achieving her dream.”

Micky looked at Muko helplessly lying on the bed. She was already very drunk but still conscious.

“Are you going to do it . . . or do I have to find someone else?” Hikaru asked coldly.

“You’re really serious?” Micky asked with fear and confusion.

“Do I look like I’m joking?” Hikaru asked with a blank expression on her face.

“I . . . I . . . “ Micky started to utter.

“Fine . . . just leave the room. I will find someone else,” Hikaru said as she slowly stood up. She was about to dial her phone when . . . .

“Wait! I . . . I’ll do it . . .” Micky uttered as he felt like his entire soul was weakening.

A smile appeared on Hikaru’s lips . . . “Remember . . . you need to sleep with her . . . tonight. . . You can’t fool me . . . She’s still a . . . So I will certainly see a proof on the bed tomorrow, if you really slept with her or not . . . If by chance, you won’t be able to do it . . . I will make sure that the next person I talk with . . . will be able to do it without any difficulty. So I suggest you keep your word.”

“You’re a monster!” Micky uttered with hatred in his eyes.

Hikaru turned away from Micky. She wanted to hide the emotions that were slowly showing in her eyes. She wanted to act like she was feeling nothing.

As she slowly headed towards the door, she quickly bit down on her lip to stop herself from crying. “I’m sorry. . . Mukades . . . I’m sorry . . .Always remember I love you.”
