Chapter 9

Borrowed From God (Ongoing)
After Hikaru left . . . .

Micky stared at Mukades as she slept so peacefully on the bed. She was still wearing the same evening dress that she wore at the party. The dress was quite revealing and too seductive for Muko’s taste. So it was very obvious that Hikaru picked the dress for her.

He then gently arranged Muko’s long hair. It was covering a part of her beautiful face.

Micky’s heart skipped a beat after he accidentally touched Mukades’ tender cheek.

“God! You’re so beautiful,” he couldn’t help but utter as he continued to stare at her.

Mukades suddenly moaned. Somehow she was still very drunk but still conscious in a way.

Micky carefully sat down on the bed beside Mukades. He then again stared at her. He was very confused.

“What should I do Muko? I am really confused right now. Your sister have me such a difficult situation. I want to help you . . . but I really don’t know how. I know I told Hikaru that I would sleep with you. But I would never do that. Yes, I like you. But I would never force myself on you,” Micky uttered as he continued to look at the girl sleeping beside him. Somehow he was pretending that he was talking to someone.

Micky let out a long and deep sigh. Then he cupped his face with his hands.

“What should I do? I don’t want to force myself on you. But I’m afraid that if I don’t do it, Hikaru will surely find someone else to do it. And if that happens . . . I don’t know if I will ever be able to forgive myself,” he then slowly ran his fingers through his hair in total desperation.

Micky suddenly closed his eyes. “Please God! Please let this just be a bad dream. Please wake me up. I don’t want this anymore. This is too maddening for me,” he uttered continuously. He was trying very hard to pretend that everything wasn’t real.

Muko moaned again. Micky quickly looked at her to see if she was already awake.

This time Mukades moaned louder. She was obviously dreaming.

Micky carefully stood up and took a blanket from a nearby chair. Then he gently placed it to cover Muko’s body.

A deep sigh escaped his throat. “What am I going to do now?” he again asked himself.

He was already very tired both in body and mind. Somehow he needed some rest. He decided to lay down on the sofa while waiting for Mukades to wake up. He quietly sat down and then rested his body. He was so tired that within minutes he immediately fell asleep.

Hours passed . . . .

Mukades felt very weak and somehow sick. She slowly opened her eyes and tried to focus.

“Where am I?” she started to ask herself as her gaze traveled around her surrounding. She immediately recognized the familiar setting of the hotel suite that she usually uses together with Hikaru. She quickly relaxed. She was in a safe place. She thought to herself.

She then tried to think back of the last thing that she could remember. But her mind was totally blank. She gently touched her head.

She was still feeling dizzy. Then she started to remember things . . .

“I shouldn’t have drank so much wine,” she couldn’t help but utter.

She quickly felt embarrassed by what she had done. And to think she was going to enter a convent . . . she thought. She shook her head, as if to erase the things and images that she was thinking.

Then she suddenly remembered something. “Was is a dream?” she started to ask herself.

She slowly sat up and looked around. And within seconds, she was able to confirm that she wasn’t dreaming after all. Micky was truly the one who carried her in his arms. She quickly felt her cheeks turn hot with embarrassment again.

She quietly walked up to Micky’s side. She couldn’t help but stare at his face as he slept.

“You must be so tired. Thank you for looking after me,” Mukades uttered softly as she placed a blanket on Micky’s body.

“The girl you’re going to marry is surely very lucky, Micky. If we had met on a different time . . . I would have easily fallen in love with you. I know I will never have the chance to see you again. Take care of yourself, Micky and I will be praying for your success and happiness,” she uttered in a low voice.

Then she went back to her bed. She was still weak and a bit dizzy. As she stared at the ceiling, different thoughts and images started to cloud her mind.

“Am I really making the right decision?” she asked herself. “Will I really be happy as a nun?”

Mukades sighed. “Is it a big sin to like a guy? What do I do now?”

Suddenly the image of her grandmother appeared in her mind. She let out a long sigh again. “I can’t back out now . . . I already promised that I will fulfill my mother’s duties. I need to do this . . . for my mother’s sake.”

Mukades continued to think about her future in the convent and her future life as a nun.

Minutes passed . . . .

She had also fallen asleep. Somehow her mind needed a rest.

Another few hours passed . . . .

Micky suddenly opened his eyes. “What time is it?” he asked out loud. He quickly looked at his watch and was horrified at what he saw. It was already 8 in the morning.

He hurriedly stood up and went to where Muko was sleeping.

“She’s still asleep. What should I do? Should I wake her up?” he asked with worry.

Micky started to walk back and forth between Mukades’ bed and the balcony of the hotel room.

He was already very nervous of what was about to happen. He wasn’t able to do what he was supposed to do. And he knew there was a price to pay for what he did. He was so concerned about Mukades’ safety. He was trying to think of a way to help her without having to sleep with her. But no matter how hard he tried to think, there was really no other way for him to help her.

His heart was immediately filled with fear as he quickly remembered Hikaru’s words.

“Will she really ask someone else to sleep with Muko?” Micky asked himself as he stared out of the balcony.

Somehow he couldn’t even try to imagine the scene wherein Mukades was with another man. It was totally unacceptable.

“Aaaahhh,” he cried out in total frustration.

“Micky, what’s wrong?” Mukades asked as she unexpectedly entered the balcony.

Micky quickly turned around to face her. He was totally surprised. Somehow he still wasn’t prepared to face her yet. He was still trying to think of a perfect solution to their problem. And being faced with her was just going to distract him more.

“What’s wrong?” Mukades asked again.

Micky sighed. “Should I tell her the truth?” he started to ask himself.

He looked at her beautiful and innocent face. Somehow he couldn’t bear to see her crying or hurt. “I can’t tell her the truth. She will surely be hurt,” he thought.

Micky tried to smile. “Good morning! How are you feeling?”

“I still have a hang over, I guess,” she replied with a sweet smile.

“You shouldn’t have drunk so much wine last night,” Micky uttered.

Mukades nodded. “I know, it’s just that I’ve known some of those men ever since I was young. And somehow I just couldn’t say no, when they kept on refilling my glass,” she answered.

Micky’s face turned serious. “You should be more careful next time.”

Mukades smiled bitterly. “Next time? I don’t think there will ever be a next time.”

Micky’s heart felt a sharp pain with her words.

“It’s already morning. You didn’t have to stay with me all night. You could have just left me here. Do your friends know where you are?” Mukades asked with concern.

Micky smiled while trying to hide the fear in his eyes. “Don’t worry about me. You should be more concerned about yourself,” he couldn’t help but voice out.

“Why?” she asked curiously.

“Uhmm . . . nothing,” he quickly replied.

“I think you should return to your room now, Micky. I know you’re still tired. You should get more rest,” she said with concern in her eyes.

Micky stared at her. “Tell me honestly. Aren’t you concerned about staying the whole night with me? Aren’t you even curious about what happened or is something happened?” he asked seriously.

Mukades suddenly looked confused. “Why? Why should I be concerned? Did something happen?”

“Nothing happened . . . but,” Micky uttered but suddenly stopped.

Mukades smiled. “I know you’re a good man, Micky. So I am not worried if I stayed the whole night with you . . . I wouldn’t even mind, even if it was two days or even three.”

Micky shook his head in disbelief. “You’re too trusting,” he couldn’t help but utter.

This time, Mukades lightly laughed. “Stop being so serious, come on . . . We need to get out of here. Someone might suddenly see the two of us walking out of the room. You can already imagine what they would think. And I know it would surely be bad for your image,” she said more seriously.

Micky somehow didn’t want to leave. He still wanted to protect her. He knew as long as he was with her, she was safe from Hikaru’s plans. He still didn’t know what to do regarding the arrangement he made with Hikaru. He had promised to sleep with Mukades. But he wasn’t able to do it. And now he was left with so much fear for the thing that was about to happen.

Mukades quickly returned inside the room while Micky slowly followed her, still unable to decide on what to do next.

“Come on . . . let’s leave,” Mukades said as she quickly went straight to the door.

“Micky . . . hurry up,” she uttered.

She never expected what was waiting for her as soon as she stepped outside of the room.
Several reporters quickly took Mukades’ picture.

“Ms. Satou . . . Ms. Satou is Micky Yoochun with you? Did the two of you really spend the night together?” a reporter quickly asked.

Bewildered and shocked, Mukades just stood frozen outside the room while the reporters continued to take pictures of her.

Micky quickly came out of the room as soon as he heard the commotion. Then he gently took Mukades hand and pulled her into the room again.

“Micky . . . are you Ms. Satou’s boyfriend?” a reporter asked before Micky angrily closed the door in front of him.

“What the . . . how did they know we were here?” Micky couldn’t help but ask out loud.

Mukades stared at Micky, still shocked and confused. “What do we do now, Micky? They took pictures of me . . . and you as well,” she asked with fear in her eyes. “What will my relatives say once the news come out?”

Micky also didn’t know what to do. “Wait . . . I’ll call my manager . . . And you, call your sister,” he uttered.

Mukades nodded, and with trembling hands she dialed her sister’s number. Somehow she already knew something bad was going to happen.
