Chapter 30

Borrowed From God (Ongoing)
The next day…

Breakfast…

Jaejoong, Xiah, Max and U-Know were all speechless as they all just stared and witnessed the odd situation that was happening in front of their eyes.

Muko was busy cooking in the kitchen while Nan Hee was already at the table, busy taking care of her baby. Micky, on the other hand, was sitting beside Nan Hee since he was the one who was holding the baby. He felt very uncomfortable but there was nothing he could do. He kept on looking at Muko as if asking for forgiveness and understanding.

“Breakfast is ready,” Muko said with a lively voice as she tried to pretend that she wasn’t affected by what was happening. She carefully placed a bowl of soup in front of Nan Hee. She had prepared a separate dish for the little baby. “Here, this is for your baby…” she uttered again with a quivering voice.

Max shook his head and somehow felt like he just wanted to leave. Everything was crazy. And he was so mad with Micky for choosing the wrong solution to his problem. He was obviously hurting Muko.

Jaejoong quickly stood up and helped Muko with the dishes she was serving. “Let me help you with that. I told you that I could make breakfast. I am faster and I am good at cooking too. So you don’t really have to do all the work,” he said as he tried to draw away the attention away from Muko and Nan Hee. The atmosphere in the dining room was already too intense and uncomfortable for everyone.

“It’s okay. I just want to make breakfast for Mi… for everyone,” Muko quickly changed what she was going to say since she didn’t want to cause more tension in the air. She already knew that everyone especially Micky were already feeling weird with their current situation.

Nan Hee carefully sipped the soup that Muko gave her and acted like she didn’t like the taste. “I don’t think my baby can eat this,” she said with a frown on her face.

Muko was quickly taken by surprise. “Why? I always prepare that soup for the small babies that we take care of in the convent and in the missions we go to,” she suddenly said out loud, without thinking.

“Convent? Missions? What do you mean?” Nan Hee asked curiously.

Muko looked at Micky, and then at the other DBSK boys, as if asking for help. She didn’t know what to answer.

“I…” she was about to say something but Nan Hee just cut her off.

“Don’t tell me you’re a nun or something. If you are…. then does that mean that you guys can get married now?” Nan Hee said with a mocking laugh. “Isn’t it forbidden for you guys to be around men?” she continued.

Micky felt like his head was starting to ache. He didn’t know how to handle the situation. He didn’t want to embarrass Nan Hee with the remark that he might make since she was the mother of his child, but he certainly didn’t want Muko to be humiliated as well.

Muko just lowered her head. She was already feeling confused and embarrassed.

“Muko actually grew up in a school maintained by nuns. It is very, very different from where you came from. So I don’t expect you to even know or understand it,” Max suddenly said with full of sarcasm aimed at Nan Hee.

Nan Hee felt her whole face turn red with humiliation. She instantly gave Max a threatening look.

Max just smiled mockingly. “Why? Hurt? I never thought you were so sensitive,” he continued to ridicule Nan Hee.

Micky couldn’t help but smile. He was very grateful that Max had come to the rescue.

Nan Hee frowned and suddenly stood up and grabbed the baby from Micky. “I suddenly lost my appetite. We will just stay in our room. I can see were not wanted here,” she said as if hurt.

“But you haven’t eaten yet. At least, feed your baby first before you go back to your room,” Muko said with concern.

Max gave Muko a bewildered look. He couldn’t believe that given the odd situation that Muko, Nan Hee and Micky were in, Muko was still calm and nice to the woman who was planning to steal her husband.

Nan Hee looked at Muko with a scowl on her face. “Don’t bother. I don’t need your opinion,” she said angrily.

“You know, you have no right to act like that. She’s already the wife… and you’re just one of the women in Micky’s past,” Jaejoong suddenly said with irritation in his voice. He felt that someone had to defend Muko. It was obvious that Micky was still confused on who to side with.

Nan Hee glared back at jaejoong. “So you guys are all against me now? I know I shouldn’t have come here. Don’t worry, we’re leaving,” she said as she quickly stormed out of the room.

Micky didn’t know wha to do next. He looked at Muko who was still standing in front of the table. She was obviously hurt by Nan Hee but was still acting calm for everyone’s sake. He somehow felt relieved with the fact that Nan Hee was leaving, but he was also thinking about their child. ‘What if something bad happens to their baby?’ He quickly stood up and rushed out to stop Nan Hee from going. He couldn’t bear it, if something bad happens to both of them.

Muko bit down on her lower lip as she watched Micky follow Nan Hee. She felt like someone was stabbing her slowly, over and over again. Quickly she closed her eyes and started to tell her that everything was just a bad dream and that everything was all right.

Jaejoong, Xiah, U-Know and Max couldn’t help but pity Muko. They knew that she was in pain but there was nothing they could do to help her.

*****************

“What are you doing?” Micky asked as he entered the room.

Nan Hee gave him just a quick glance and then continued to pack her things. “Leaving,” she answered.

“Leaving? And where are you going to go next? You just told me last night that you don’t have any relatives here and that you don’t have any money. So how do you expect to live if you leave here?” Micky continued to ask.

Nan Hee laughed. “Do you really have to ask that? I have already sold my body to a thousand men when I was still in the United States. Do you really think that I can’t sell my body again so I can feed myself and my baby?” she asked with a glare.

Micky felt like someone had put a knife straight into his heart. He didn’t like the answer that Nan Hee gave him. Somehow he couldn’t believe what she just said. Her words hurt him in a way that he didn’t really expect.

Micky quickly took the bag that Nan Hee was holding and threw it in a corner of the room. “You can’t go. Just stay here until we have already settled everything. If you’re not afraid for your life, then just think about our baby. You wouldn’t want our baby to grow up without a mother would you?” he asked seriously.

Nan Hee looked at him, as tears were running down her cheeks. “How can I stay here when all your friends are all against me? How can I stay here when you’re not beside me? Do you really think that I can stand it when I see you next to that woman? Last night, I was somehow expecting that you would somehow sneak out and spend some time with us. But I was just disappointed. I waited for nothing. I still love you Micky. I have never stopped loving you. So you really can’t blame me if I get hurt every time you’re near her. What does that girl have that I don’t? Tell me!”

“Nan Hee, you’re forgetting that I am already married. She’s my wife. Of course, I would be beside her. And please don’t think that because I accepted our child, I would be running back into your arms as well. We have different lives now. Whatever we had in the past is already long gone. The only thing remaining is our baby. So please don’t expect that I would leave my wife for you,” Micky said with an angry tone.

“Well, it’s settled then… I’m leaving,” Nan Hee shouted. She quickly took her bag and carried her baby in her arms.

But as soon as she stepped out of the room, someone suddenly stopped her.

“You don’t have to leave. If you really can’t stand being in the same house with me, then I will just leave. It is better for me to leave than you. You have a baby to take care of,” Muko said with a blank expression on her face.

Micky was stunned with what Muko said. “Muko, what are you saying?” he asked with a confused look on his face.

Muko looked at Micky. “Don’t worry about me. When we talked last night, remember you said that I should believe in you? Well I believe in you, Micky. That’s why I am doing this. This is for everyone’s sake, especially for the child.”

“You can’t go. What if your father knows that you left or worse… what if Hikaru knows?” Micky asked while trying to say something convincing.

Muko smiled. “Don’t worry. Hikaru is sick right now. So I would just spend some time with her. I will just tell them that I asked you if I can stay with them again so I can take care of Hikaru. They wouldn’t suspect a thing.”

“But…” Micky didn’t know how to say what was going through in his head.

“Don’t worry. You told me that Nan Hee is in trouble and that someone is looking for her. She and the baby can stay here. They are safe here,” Muko continued.

“But I can’t let you go…” Micky uttered.

“Don’t worry, this will just be a temporary arrangement. Your baby needs you. I don’t want to stand in the way between you and your baby’s safety. So it is better if I be the one to go,” Muko added.

“Muko, you’re being too nice. Think about yourself first. You don’t have give way to that woman,” Max said in a loud voice.

Muko looked back at Max and smiled. “Thank you for your concern Max. But I have already decided.”

“No! No one is leaving this house. Nan Hee, you and the baby are staying in your room until I find a safe place for you to move to. And you, Muko, you’re not going back to your sister. You’re staying here with me,” Micky said with a firm voice.

Nan Hee gave Muko a warning look and then quickly slammed the door as she entered her room again.

“You’re mine Micky. I will make sure that you will come back to me,” Nan Hee uttered to herself as she slowly started to plan her next move.
