Chapter 29

Borrowed From God (Ongoing)
“What do you plan to do now?” U-Know asked as he handed Micky a glass of wine.

Micky turned and faced his friends. He was totally confused and somehow the only thing that was running on his mind is that he needed to take care of his child. “What am I supposed to do? Right now, the only thing I can think about is my… baby. I need to take care of her, and… Nan Hee too, I guess. It’s the least I can do after what she’s gone through.”

Max took a sip from the wine glass he was also holding. “Are you sure you’re going to take care of Nan Hee just because of the child? Or are you going to take care of Nan Hee because you still have feelings for her?” he bravely asked out loud.

The other DBSK members were shocked to hear Max courageously ask the questions that were also running on their minds.

Micky bitterly smiled. “Honestly… “ he then looked straight at Max. “I don’t know the answer to that question.”

Max’s expression changed. A hint of anger quickly showed in his eyes. “Don’t say you’re actually thinking of going back to Nan Hee… not when you just married Muko. Have pity on Muko, for god’s sake hyung.”

Micky lowered his head and quickly drank all the wine he was holding. “I don’t know… I am really confused right now. How can I let go of the woman who I loved years ago and who also gave birth to my child? And how can I let go of the woman who I already have learned to love? If you guys were in my place, who would you choose?” he asked with a soft voice.

Jaejoong shook his head. “You’re really in a very difficult situation. But the answer really depends on you. Listen to your heart. Think about it… Maybe if you just listen to your heart closely, maybe you will find the answer.”

Micky stared at Jaejoong. “Should I really listen to my heart? Because right now, I think even my heart is torn. It’s drawn into two different directions. Where do you think I should go?”

“I think the direction you should go is straight to your room… to your wife that is waiting for you patiently… to the wife that silently cried out while you were with another woman… to the woman who gave you her heart and soul….” Max uttered with a serious tone.

Xiah was suddenly surprised that he looked at Max. “Max…” he uttered as if asking him what was wrong.

Max then stared back at his friend. “Why? Should I lie about what I am feeling and just tell him that he should think things over like what you guys are doing? Right now, the person I am pitying is Muko. She’s going to be hurt here if Micky does go back to Nan Hee. Do you really think that everything will be the same for her when hyung suddenly decides to dump her? Even though I have only known her for a short while, she has already gained my respect and admiration. She’s one remarkable woman, truly one a kind. I don’t think Nan Hee would even be able to compare with her, not even one-half..”

“Yes, I think Max is right. We are all thinking of Micky and the baby’s situation, but we’re all forgetting about Muko… But Max, you should bear in mind that deciding about situations like this always have a negative side. No matter what or who Micky chooses, there will still be someone who will get hurt. You’re still young, so you’re still acting based on impulses. While the right to do really is just take things one step at a time,” U-Know said calmly.

“What do you mean?” Xiah asked curiously.

“Right now, I think the best thing that Micky can do is help out Nan Hee first. If she needs help financially, then Micky should help her out first… for the baby’s sake,” U-Know answered.

Micky nodded. “Yes, I know that. I will immediately take care of the financial problems by tomorrow. What I am worried about is about what Nan Hee told me,” he added.

“What?” Jaejoong asked.

“Nan Hee told me that someone is after her. She told me that while she was staying in the US, due to desperation she was forced to make connections with some very bad people, And now, those people are after her,” Micky said with a serious look on his face.

“See… is that the kind of woman you want to live your life with? She’s no good for you hyung… Right from the start, she’s just pure bad luck,” Max exclaimed.

Micky gave Max with an angry look. “Please don’t say such things about the mother of my child. Even though she may have made mistakes in the past, I also have some fault in that. If she is to be blamed for such things, then I should take some of the blame as well.”

Max couldn’t help but grin as if mocking his friend. “So you’re defending her now? Suit yourself, if you want to go back to her. Fine. Dump Muko… I don’t care. In the end, you’re just ruining an innocent woman’s life and just going back to a complicated situation. Just make sure you don’t drag us into trouble once your plan backfires. Remember who Muko is. And maybe you’re forgetting about Hikaru. She can definitely make your life and our lives a living hell. When all the problems starts, just don’t forget I warned you,” he said as he quickly got up from the chair he was sitting on and immediately left the living room.

Jaejoong, Xiah and U-Know quickly exchanged glances. They were all perplexed as to why Max was acting that way. But still they couldn’t help but agree to all the things he said. He had a good point and somehow his frank approach was needed in that situation. Micky needed all the different points of view that he could get. So he could eventually make the right decision.

After an hour, Micky carefully slipped into bed. He then lovingly embraced Muko from behind. She had been waiting patiently in their room. She couldn’t sleep no matter how much she tried. So she just laid down on the bed with her back facing the door and then pretended to sleep. She wanted to wait until Micky finally decides to go back to their room… or more specifically to her.

A tear unexpectedly escaped her closed eyes. She had been trying to fight the tears that were all filling up her eyes. She didn’t want to cry. She needed to be strong. She knew this is just one of God’s tests for her and Micky. So she needed to stay strong for both their sakes.

As Micky’s hand touched her hand. Muko’s heart jumped with unexplainable joy. Somehow she knew her fear wasn’t true. He was still staying by her side.

“Muko, are you still awake?” Micky softly asked.

Muko didn’t know what to do. Somehow her mind was telling her to answer but her heart was telling her not to. She suddenly had a feeling that something wasn’t right. But her good side still won. She needed to face the truth sooner or later. So there was no reason to delay or deny what was bound to happen.

“Yes,” she uttered with a low voice.

Micky drew her closer to him. “Sorry. I didn’t expect things to turn out this way. Please forgive me for all the pain I caused you today and for all the pain I would surely be giving you tomorrow… and the next days to come…. I am really sorry. But just bear with me, please. I will try to fix everything as soon as I can. But for now, can you believe in me? Can you give me your trust? Whatever I do, whatever I decide, I promise it is for the best… for everyone’s sake. ”

Muko tried to tightly close her eyes. She didn’t want to open her eyes or else all her tears would surely fall. “I… understand,” were the only words she could utter. And with those words said, she started to sob. As she silently cried, Micky continued to hold on to her… tighter and tighter… Somehow it was the only way he could try to console her. He didn’t know what to say to ease her pain… And though his conscience was already killing him, he knew he needed to do this… There was no other way, in order to take care of his child, he needed to hurt the woman he loves.
