Not A Warning, But A Reminder.
That's Okay
Kyungsoo wore a demure smile, though Kai could see in his eyes that there was a certain flame of determination blazing from inside him. Nervously biting his lower lip, Kai fiddled with his fingers, wondering whether something was actually going wrong regarding the divorce.
They were now sitting across from each other in a quiet bar, two glasses of beer sitting in front of them.
“No need to look so nervous,” Kyungsoo mused as he sipped on his drink. “This is not about work stuff.”
“Oh,” Kai sighed in relief, finally loosening the tension that had built up in his shoulders.
“This is just a friendly chat over a drink,” Kyungsoo continued. “So be at ease. Or have you done something that I should be worried about?”
The attorney’s voice held no threat or harshness, but something about how collected and calm it was still caused Kai to sit on the edge of his seat. Despite having spent countless hours with Kyungsoo as he handled the divorce for him, it was the first time that Kai actually felt the power and charisma that Kyungsoo exuded and he finally understood why Kyungsoo had managed to make such a name for himself in the highly competitive field of law.

“Bongcha said something similar,” Kyungsoo chuckled. “Apparently I look hard to approach.”
“So you have Bongcha welcome the clients to give a softer first impression?” Kai dared to guess.
“Not quite, though she does have a knack at moulding clients and easing the process for me,” Kyungsoo mused. “Certainly worked with you.”
“I learned a lot from talking with her,” Kai replied, an affectionate smile gracing his face at the memories of his conversations with Bongcha. “Just hearing her voice made me feel so reassured, like I could face anything and everything.”
“She does have that effect on people,” Kyungsoo hummed, his gaze lowering as he could not quite face the pure adoration and admiration pouring out of Kai’s eyes.
Kyungsoo had his suspicions that the young dancer had grown rather fond of Bongcha, and that his visit today was more than just merely passing by because he was in the area — after all Kyungsoo had used the same excuse himself. Now the question was what exactly it was that Kai felt for Bongcha; whether he just felt appreciation towards Bongcha because of what she had done for him, or if there was something more.
“I hadn’t realised how lonely I was until I sat across from Jennie with the attorneys shielding her as though I was
