Summary: A birthday gift that went wrong... Or is it?

Pinky's Smile

“What's this?” Yujin asked, beaming a dopey smile at Minjoo. It was her 17th birthday. While Yujin mainly celebrated it with her family, she managed to sneak out and meet up with her girlfriend in the park.

“I'm sorry that's all I can get,” Minjoo started while Yujin continued to unwrap the small box adorned with cheap gift wrap. “I wanted to add our names  into it but I don't have enough money—”

“Are you proposing to me?” Yujin jokingly asked after seeing how the small gift box looked exactly like a ring case.

“No..” Minjoo replied. She hesitatingly took the box from Yujin and slowly opened it in front for her girlfriend to see.

It was a ring.

“Seriously, are you proposing? And you said you don't have money but this must have cost a lot!”

“I'm not— It's not..” Minjoo sheepishly smiled and took the ring from the box. “Can I?” Minjoo asked, keeping her eyes on Yujin while holding the latter's free hand.

Yujin nodded feeling a thousand different things with what was happening in front of her. Minjoo never failed to make her heart race in the simplest ways but this gesture was by far the most romantic thing her girlfriend has ever done.

Minjoo slowly slipped the rounded jewelry on Yujin's ring finger. Both were smiling happily until.. 

“Huh??”

“Minjoo?”

“Th-that's strange.”

“Uh..”

The ring was stuck in the middle of Yujin's ring finger. It was too small..

“That is starting to hurt babe,” Yujin said as Minjoo pushed for the ring to go further.

“Oh my gosh. I'm such an idiot!” Minjoo eventually gave up and slumped her shoulders. “How can I get the size wrong?!”

Seeing her girlfriend so distressed and with the ring stuck in the middle of her ring finger because Minjoo made a mistake with the size, Yujin starting laughing.

“Yujin..” Minjoo helplessly watched Yujin laugh at the situation.
