C H A P T E R ~ T W O 

Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency 

Mr. Choi slammed The Roulette’s file on the table. “WHAT IS THIS!?” He yelled 

 The Roulette is the underground mafia boss of Seoul. Despite being run by a group mid 20 year olds and younger, they terrify the rest of the chains. 

The rest of the team stayed quiet. Mr. Choi grew more angry as the more delayed the reply was. “Well? DO YOU EXPECT ME TO STAND HERE LIKE AN IDIOT?” He walked around the table to the otherside where the team stood.

The head if the team came out from the line. “Sir. We couldn't catch them. They are too cunning.” He explained 

Mr. Choi sighed as he massaged his head. Right then the head spoke up again. “Sir if you don’t mind i have a suggestion.” Mr. Choi, not knowing what to do signaled him to continue on

“I think it might be time to bring the CBI in. Our city’s CBI is very talented. I assure you they can catch The Roulette.” He says

Mr. Choi looked up. “Yeah, you’re right. We’ll call them in right now.” With that he made a phone call.

A few moments later the doors opened to reveal Jung Hoseok and his team. The team walked and stood in front of the projector, the previous team and Mr. Choi. “The Roulette is made up of 8 main members plus a few henchmen to carry out their dirty work. One thing to know about this team is that their parents were the predecessors of The Roulette, and that the current members were forced to come into action when their parents were brutally and mysteriously murdered around 5 years ago ” Hoseok began.

Lee Hayi spoke up next. “No one has seen these 8 members. Regardless of conducting many illegal weapon and drug exchanges, the group has a sense of morals. They have caught and killed many notorious criminals.” She explained

“The leader of the group is  Wendy. She is the daughter of the previous leader Siwon and had to take over the gang at the age of 19.” Hoseok explained.

“Seungwan’s right hand man is  B.I. He is the one who handles all of the information regarding The Roulette. Passwords, bank accounts, keys etc.” Hayi said

Kim Jisoo then put a folder down. “The rest of the team members have specific jobs that help run The Roulette.  Jin takes care of the hacking,”

“ RJ is in charge of the meetings of these illegal exchanges.” Kim Namjoon smirks as he says

“RJ has two people who help her with the meeting Number one  Joy. She looks over the people they do dealings with.” Yook Sungjae explains

Irene cuts him off explaining the rest. “The second person who helps in these dealings is V. He helps with setting the place and the time of these dealings.”

Yeri and Jimin are the last people to explain the two remaining mystery people. “Sir the last two people are mainly in charge of combat.” Jimin starts

Yeri nods and plays a video. The video shows two people who are masked showing various mixed martial art moves. “On August 31st, the Roulette released a video showcasing these two members.”

“One being Seul.” 

“And the other being JK. Wendy’s bastard brother.”

“As of now The Roulette’s eyes are on the same thing the police are looking for.” Hayi begins

Sungjae takes the lead changing the slide on the projector to a picture of several different drugs. “The Roulette is on the lookout for ‘The Famous 8’ guess eight is their lucky number.” He jokes

Irene rolled her eyes at his joke and took the remote from him. “Rituxan, Revlimid, Soliris, Afinitor, Tasigna, Velcade, Avonex, and Alimta”. She states 

Jisoo walks around the table. “These are also known as orphan drugs. These drugs are a godsend to those suffering from life-threatening conditions that previously had no treatments.” She explained 

Namjoon from the other side suddenly spoke up. “‘The Famous 8’ are some of the highest-priced medicines out there. And while it's well-documented that these drugs can bring in serious revenue.”

Jimin nudged Namjoon, warning him not to say too much. “Simply put, orphan drugs are pharmaceutical agents which are developed to treat medical conditions but because they are so rare, they would not be profitable to produce without government assistance. So international mafia dons have found different ways to obtain them.” Jimin said

Yeri smiled. “To make revenue The Roulette has planned to possess these drugs and sell them to an even higher mafia at an even higher price.”

Hoseok was now in the middle surrounded by his team members facing their audience. “But we won’t let that happen sir. We’ll make sure we are always one step ahead of them. The government will have those drugs.” He concludes as the team and him salute.

Mr. Choi looked at the CBI team proudly at the information they had gathered. He went up to them and patted Hoseok’s back. “Well done team. You guys are officially on the case of The Roulette and as well as the Famous 8. Good Luck.” With that Mr. Choi and the other team left the 8 individuals behind. 

As soon as they left the team collectively let out a sigh “WOOOHOOOO!! FINALLY” Yeri yelled 

“Oh my god, I thought I was going to die of not making any jokes. So many golden opportunities missed. Rest In Peace.” Sungjae jokes as he sat down in a chair 

The team laughs as Irene hits him. “What do you mean? You made that stupid lucky number joke.” She scolds

The rest of the team smiled, feeling excited to have a new case. “Alright gang, we need to be focused because the group we got assigned aren’t some roadside drug smugglers. This time we are dealing with the underground mafia. They are dangerous. They are ruthless. And we have to be the same too.” Hoseok lectured

The team captain put his hand in the middle being followed by the others. “We can do this.” Hayi encouraged them

Watch out Roulette. To hunt or to not hunt. It’s all the hands of life.
