C H A P T E R ~ S I X

Seoul Metropolitan Police Station

The Central Bureau of Investigation team sat at their desks gloomy. ‘Why did everything go south that night?’ they all thought

Hoseok sighed and stood up. “Ok we have no time to sit and be sad. Did anyone see anything suspicious last night?” He asked, hoping to get something as a lead.

Hayi waved around her pen. “I did. When I tried going to the back to check if there was anyone in the back, I was stopped by a guy. Um white hair and orange shades. He had a grey suitcase and was heading in a weird direction. I turned around to get backup and by the time i turned back he was gone” she explained as Yeri wrote it out on the board

Hoseok looked up. “Ok anyone else?” he asked

In the next few minutes everyone in the team reported seeing individuals heading to the back instead of the exit like the majority of the people in the club.

Something seemed off to him. “So all of you saw one person each?” Everyone nodded

“Huh? Interesting? Wait Hoseok what about the chick you were dancing with? Did you see what side she ran to?” Namjoon asked.

“I remember that we ran opposite sides. She didn’t want to come with me and when we departed she said she had to go but in a way if she had to escape?” he said, confused.

The team kept silent for a few minutes. Jimin stood up as if something clicked for him. “We met our partners tonight. We saw them!” He shouted

The members of the team looked at him with literal question marks on his face. “Explain please?” Sungjae asked on behalf of everyone.

Jim went up to the board. “Hoseok saw one girl. Hayi saw one guy. When Sungjae and I were together, we saw two girls. When Jisoo and Irene were together, they saw two guys. Namjoon saw one girl and Yeri plus us saw one boy.” he wrote ticks and numbers.

The group hit a realization. “And we all saw them run in the same direction. Which means..” He lead on

“We met our enemies face to face.” Yeri concluded

The team slumped down back into their depressed states. “How are we going to take them down? They’re clearly way too cleaver.” Sungjae whined

Irene hit him. “Are you trying to say we aren't?” She questioned

Hayi tried to calm her down. “What he means is that the Roulette is better with street smart while we’re more book smart. That’s why we decided to go undercover while they pulled off this whole drug operation right in front of our eyes and we didn’t even notice.” She explained

Namjoon punched a wall out of frustration. “

So what are we going to do about this? How are we supposed to beat them if we aren’t ‘street smart’?” he asked a silent Hoseok.

Hoseok sighed and stood up. “Simply, we hit their emotional side.” He said

 The Team looked at him confused once again. “Huh?” they asked

Hoseok rolled his eyes. “When Wendy, uh actually, when Seungwan and I danced. I could tell she was i don’t know attracted to me. So my plan is,” He tried 

“Seduce her?! Are you crazy?” Hayi interrupted

Everyone in the team started yelling at once. Some agreeing, so disagreeing. “Why is it such a bad idea? It won’t be that bad.” Jimin asks

The girls scoff. “She’s a girl. She’ll have feelings. You can’t play them like that!” Yeri disagrees

“She’s a criminal!” The three boys reasoned

“She’s a human”

Feeling annoyed, Hoseok slammed his hand on the desk putting a top to their bickering. “It doesn’t matter. We are going to do this the dirty way if we have to.” He said 

The girls rolled their eyes

“Since we know how they look. Jisoo hack into their system and see if you can find their pictures. Especially Wendy’s.”

A few moments later Jisoo pulled up a picture of a smiling girl. “Is this her? I found this on a cafè website that is run by a person named Tiffany Hwang called ‘Moonlight Melody’. I hacked into her account and it looks like Wendy worked there five years ago. So if you want to meet her that’s your only chance.”

The boys looked at the picture in awe. “Holy ! She runs a mafia?” Sungjae exclaimed 

Hoseok smiled looking at that picture. Even if this was all for their case, he couldn't help but feel something for the beauty on the screen.  

Well you know what they say, where there is love, there is life.
