The Abyss

The 16 of them sat around one table. “So, why do you want to know about The Javelin?” Seungwan asked

“Our leader was killed by one of his associates. On another note we found out that they are planning mass destruction throughout Korea.” Hoseok explains

Hayi decided to speak up. “What about you guys? What do you have against them?”

“They killed our parents.”

Flashback:

Choi Siwon sat face to face Shim Changmin. “I already told you. I’m not doing it. Don’t push it” Siwon said.

“Oh Siwon I’m talking about the benefits you’ll get if you join our Javelin Chain. You might want to rethink your decisions.” The man warned

Siwon looked to s for support. “Look you guys are plotting to end innocent lives. At the Roulette we only do deals and kill pests that reside in this world. If you further with your destruction plans, we’ll kill you too.” Leeteuk the eldest explained.

The door was suddenly opened to reveal the roulette children. “Dad!” They ran towards the men with smiles.

Siwon smiled as he engulfs his two kids in a hug . “When did you guys arrive?” He asks

“A few minutes ago. Mom told us not to come, but we couldn’t resist.” Seungwan replies.

Changmin lets out a scoff. “Cute kids. You wouldn't want to harm them would you?” He asks in a dangerous tone.

Sensing the tension the kids look at them with a scared and confused look. Heechul directs them out of the room telling them to go out for a stroll before they leave. “Don’t bring family into this. We will let the police know about your plans as an anonymous tip if you don’t leave us right now.” Siwon says standing up.

Changmin starts laughing. “You think I’m going to leave you after you told me all of that?” He said laughing as he pointed a gun towards Siwon.

Siwon smirked. “You think you’ll get out of here alive if you put a gun to my head?” he fired back 

“I will if I put it on your wife.” Changmin shifts his hand to a horrified Taeyon standing at the door.

“No no. Don’t. You can go. And we won’t talk about this at all.” Eunhyuk from behind says

Soon enough hearing Taeyon’s scream the rest of The Roulette’s wives come rushing to the area. “Wow looks like I need to wipe out the whole clan.” Changmin says pitifully

Screams and blood everywhere. That's what the young teens hear when they come through the front door. Not waiting they rush to where they assume their parents are.

They walk in on a horrific scene. Their parents, aunts and uncles lay on the floor, lifeless. The older kids cover the younger kids eyes. They spot a card lying on the floor.  Seungwan looks at Jin and Hanbin before staring back at it not knowing what to do. 

The eldest of the three picks it up. “You’re lucky you’re not here. Stay out of my way or you’ll die the same way you’re parents.” He reads out

Everything goes fast the next few days. The funeral happens but Jin, Seungwan, and Hanbin don’t shed tears. While the younger teens bawl their eyes out, the three can’t do much except console them. They can’t bring their wonderful parents back and that was the truth

Their aunt Tiffany and Uncle Nickhun come to take them but Jin refuses. “We can stay here Tiff. All of them have stated in their will that if I am of age when something happens, the kids can legally stay with me. Plus Seungwan and Hanbin can help me.” He says 

The couple look at each other. “Are you sure you want to do this? It’s ok for you three to grieve.” Nichkhun had observed the younglings keeping in their grief.

“We don’t want to sympathize, we want revenge.”

The 8 recall the memory they want to erase. This is what they have been working hard for. All of these years, all of the training, all of the worry. For the moment they can kill Shim Changmin and end The Javelin.

“Revenge proves its own executioner.”
