Chapter 14 (Yoochun)

Blessings from Blizzards?

A/N:  Okay.  So, I have reposted the chapters that got lost this weekend.  It might be a while before I get new chapters posted.  My mom has been having some pretty serious health issues, but we think it’s under control now.  And, I’ve been working these last few days, so I haven’t gotten my homework done.  I’ve got so much to do.  But I will try to post soon.  Thanks for sticking with me.

Yoochun

Shandi sighed.  If she had to be trapped in a cabin, , with a member of DBSK, Yoochun was the last one she wanted to be trapped with.  Why couldn’t it have been Yunho?  She tried to catch her friend’s eye so they could complain about it, but Robyn had already gone back to sleep.  She shook her head.  How could Robyn go to sleep so fast in this situation?  Well, it was probably really late, and her friend was not a night person.  That was probably it.  She smiled.  Pro-BOB-ally.  Chungrish was really funny.

“What’re you thinking about?  Something good?”  Darn it.  Yoochun was still awake and had been watching her.

“Why else would I have been smiling?”

“Umm…I don’t know?”  He probably thought it had something to do with him since she had been staring in his general direction.  She had been thinking about him, but not the way he was thinking.  Joy.  Now Yoochun was going to think that she was attracted to him.  That was totally not the case.  Totally.  There were several people not in DBSK that she would date before Yoochun.  Just because he was her fifth favorite man in the world did not mean that he was her fifth favorite dating choice in the world.  He turned towards her and propped himself up on his elbows so that he could see her better.  Just great.  She checked to make sure the blanket covered her completely.  It did.  The last thing she wanted was for Yoochun to see any part of her from the neck down.

“So.  You’re a nurse, huh?”  Shandi sighed inwardly.  Now he was making small talk.  Soon he was going to start talking about when they should get married and how many kids they should have.  She had to nip this in the bud.

“Yes.”  She gave a pointed look at his arms.  “You have really nice veins.  It would be easy to start an IV on you.”  He gave her a shocked, slightly disturbed look.  Apparently, that was not what he had expected her to say.  His mouth hung open as if he was trying to say something but couldn’t quite think of how to say it.  Shandi knew he hated IVs.  And hospitals.  Maybe she could scare him away from her by talking about working in a hospital.  Yoochun pulled the blanket up around his arms.  It was kind of cute how he was trying to hide his arms from her.

“Of course, you’re veins aren’t as good as Junsu’s or Changmin’s.  But, they’re still better than most patients I’ve had.”  This didn’t have the effect she wanted.  He shrugged.

“Did you like working at the hospital?”  She was confused.  That was supposed to have scared him off?  Why was he still talking to her?

“Not really.  I liked most of my patients and I didn’t mind taking care of them.  But, it’s a really stressful job.  Not something I want to do for the rest of my life.”  He nodded.

“Kind of like my job.  Very rewarding, but very stressful.”  If Shandi had been the type to raise her eyebrows, she would have.  It was not at all like his job.

“I don’t get paid nearly as much.”  That was the only thing she could think to say to him.  The rest was just ridiculous.

“Oh.”  He was quite for a moment, watching her watch the fire.  “What do your parents do?”  Here we go.  It was Yoochun at his most annoying.  Next he was going to start talking about meeting ‘our’ family and kid names.

“My mom works at a jewelry store and my dad owns a satellite shop.”  And it’s really none of your business.  She almost said that out loud, then stopped herself.  She didn’t want to be too mean.  Yet.

“That’s cool.  Have you been to any of our concerts?”  It was like he was fishing for topics to keep the conversation going.  Couldn’t he just leave her alone and go to sleep?

“Yes.  Robyn and I went to a JYJ concert in LA.  And I’ve seen the videos from a lot of your other concerts.  At least, ones that fans have posted.”

“Did you like it?  How did we do?”  He seemed more animated now that they were on this topic.

“It was the first time I had seen you guys live.  Totally amazing.”  She really wished he would just go to sleep.  She turned so that she was lying on her back and yawned.  Maybe he could take a hint.

“Well, I’m glad.  Maybe you could come to one of DBSK’s concerts while you’re in Korea.  It would be the first time you’d see us together live, right?  I could get you good tickets.”  Maybe not.  She turned her head away and rolled her eyes.  But, how could she pass up tickets to a DBSK concert?

“When’s your next one going to be?”

“Not for a while.  Three or four months, I think.”

“Oh.  We’re only going to be in Korea for a month.  Maybe less now that Robyn’s dad is going to be upset with us.”

“Why would he be – oh.  Cause you got caught out in the blizzard?”  She nodded.  They might not get sent home early.  But, at this point, there was a very slim chance they would get to stay for the full month.  She sighed.  She had only been in Korea a day, and she had already gotten into this mess.

“Well, we’re probably not going to be back in America for a while.  Hmm.  We’ll have to do something about that.”  Shandi rolled her eyes at him.  Why was he still talking to her?

“I’m kind of tired.  Maybe we should just go to sleep.  It would make the time pass faster.”

“Oh.  Okay.”  She turned away from him.  Yoochun grabbed her by the waist and pulled her against him.  Her eyes widened.  What did he think he was doing?  She turned as much as she could and glared at him.  He gave her an innocent look that didn’t fool her in the least.  She tried to get out, but he was holding her too tightly for her to get any leeway.

“Just go to sleep.”  How could she when he was holding her like that?  She was getting really mad.  He didn’t understand that she did not want to be held.  Not by him at least.  Maybe if it was Yunho.  But, it wasn’t.  It was Yoochun.  This was not cool.  Not cool at all.
