The Mafia's Chronicles
"How is the cut?" Baekhyun trailed his fingers along the injured area, and Yumi flinched at the sudden touch on her sensitive skin.
"I'm okay Sir," Yumi muttered. She turned around to leave, but the Mafia suddenly pulled her to his chest and in a second, a loud sound of a gunshot escalated the whole mansion.
Baekhyun smirked as he released yet another gunshot, and the man from the high building across his window fell off to the ground.
"That's more like it. This should teach them to not mess with me." The Mafia chuckled and stared down at his shivering wife
"It's okay, you can let go of me now." The Mafia said in a calm tone, but Yumi wasn't ready to let go. She was shivering in fear, holding the Mafia tightly.
"Don't be scared, It was an assassin, but he's dead now. So you can let go of me now."
"I'm scared" The girl lifted her head to look at Baekhyun in the eyes with tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Crying again?" Baekhyun sighed and pulled his wife off his body.
"Seems crying is your hobby right?" The Mafia asked as he sat on his bed, leaving Yumi standing.
Wendy was right after all. Someone is really after Yumi's life, but who could that be? The Mafia's mind was running in circles, trying to figure out who could hate Yumi that much.
"I'm sorry" Yumi said while shivering, and Baekhyun's attention was back to his crying wife.
"Come over here" The Mafia said, but Yumi was too scared to move a foot. Baekhyun reached out his hands and pulled Yumi to his laps.
"Why are you crying?" He asked with his hand gently caressing her hair.
"I'm scared."
"I know you are but it's okay, you're safe now so stop crying." He wiped off the tears from Yumi's eyes with his thumb while looking into her eyes.
"Thank you ... Sir." Yumi adverted her gaze from Baekhyun's face and got up from his lap immediately.
"I need to bath." She muttered and trailed off.
Once she was out of sight, Baekhyun adverted his gaze back to the window and saw a shadow of a woman rushing by the area where he had shot the man dead earlier. He wasn't sure of the thought running through his mind. He stared at the closed bathroom door where Yumi just went, and he left to clarify his thoughts
"Boss."
Baekhyun stopped on hearing the familiar voice and bitterness filled his heart. He wanted to pretend as if he heard nothing and walk away, but the tension that escalated through the second call from the said person made him turn back
"What is it, Jongin?" The Mafia's question sounded cold.
"Boss you have to see this, it's really important, please." Jongin said with so much worry all over his face.
They arrived at the main room where all the CCTV cameras are been controlled and handled. Jongin zoomed a particular area, and there they saw Mrs. Son paying some men a huge amount of money.
"Why is she paying them such money, and what for?"
"I'm not sure Boss, but I will play the audio." Jongin tapped on the volume and they heard all her plans on how she paid a man to kill Yumi in the company.
"Boss what do we do? Yumi's life is in danger."
"You don't need to worry about a thing Jongin, just think of how your Pregnant wife will feel when she sees her mother dead." Baekhyun turned around to leave, but jongin fell on his knees and grabbed his feet.
"Please, Boss forgive me. I know I have betrayed you, but please forgive us, Please."
"Too late man." The Mafia pushed Jongin off and walked away straight to Mrs. Son's room, but he was faced with an empty room.
"Smarter than I thought she would be" Baekhyun smirked. He left the room and sent his men after her.
