Baekhyun had just finished dealing with the whole formalities regarding his parents' treatment, and he was sure ready to go back home to Yumi. He just couldn't wait to hold Yumi in his arms again after receiving the good news earlier.

Checking up on his parents in their room one last time, Baekhyun ruffled his red hair in anger, but he kept it cool because he couldn't afford to break the promise he made to Yumi. He made his way out of the hospital and walked over to his car, but just then he received a call from an unknown number.

"The ." Baekhyun folded his fist in anger. The whole situation was just so complicated. He couldn't afford to break his promise to his wife, but the unknown number calling was irritating him to his bones.

Picking up the call, Baekhyun placed the phone on his ear.

"What the do you want?!"

"Your wife's life is in my hands right now. Save her if you can." The unknown caller named ‘the nightmare’ chuckled and ended the call.

Baekhyun dropped down his hand after the call ended and felt the rapid beating of his now racing heart. He wasn't scared but rather he was so angry, burning with hatred. This wasn't right. This was never meant to be. He was the Scorpion that was once been feared by all and he still is. A leopard could never change its spots.

He brought back his phone to his sight and made a call to Sonia his former internet wizard and best friend, more like a younger sister and also Kris's wife, asking her to come over.

Baekhyun was still waiting on the hospital premises when Sonia drove in. She spotted Baekhyun from afar and went over him.

"Boss, what's wrong? Why the sudden call?"

Baekhyun lifted his head to look at Sonia, and a broken chuckle escaped his dry throat.

"Sonia,... my little sis, my dear loyal friend." The CEO said with a sad smile plastered on his lips. It was surely clear that he was greatly pissed and at the same time sad, and this didn't go unnoticed by the younger.

"Boss, I can see that you're hurt. Please tell me what troubles you; I can be of help to you."

Baekhyun smiled and stepped out of the car to meet the younger.

"You can surely help me now, Sonia. Please get the exact address of this number. I know it's hard to get because it's an unknown, but please, you have to try hard because my Yumi's life depends on this."

"It's okay, Boss, I will try my best to get the location." Sonia retrieved the phone and left.

Yumi was sitting in the living room, looking at the clock from time to time, praying that Baekhyun kept his promise, but a small part of her heart disagreed with her, and she inevitably got scared again.

What if he got hurt, what if things got out of hands and he ends up...

"No, I know my Baekhyun won't break his promise." Yumi said out loud, but then she felt a sharp pain tugging in her heart the moment she remembered what she had done, the lie she told Baekhyun back then in the hospital.

She actually lied about being pregnant to the man she loves so much just to get him to stay out of trouble. How on earth will she mend her mistake? How will she make Baekhyun understand why she did that? Yumi was scared and troubled at the same time.

"Promise? Did Daddy promise you anything?" Jesse, who couldn't sleep, asked. He rubbed his eyes before sitting beside Yumi on the couch.

"My son, you're awake? Do you need anything?"

"No, I don't need anything.” he quickly replied “But, why are you not sleeping? And…  what did Daddy promise you?" The little kid struggled with his words as he still wasn't able to speak properly just yet.

Yumi smiled at her son and caressed the kid's cheeks. "It's nothing my boy, you go back inside; it's still dark."

"But I don't want to!” he huffed “I want to be with Mom. Mom looks sad." The kid reached his hand to his mother's face and wiped the tears off her face. "Why are you crying? Did something happen?"

"Crying? No, I'm not crying. I guess something flew into my eyes." Yumi lied. She couldn’t let her son know that she was worried and that she was crying because she was scared.

She knew Baekhyun too well, she knew his temper and what he could do if anyone tried to mess with his family, but despite knowing that, she still wanted to hope that Baekhyun would at least listen to her words and keep to his promise.

"Mom!" Jesse called, bringing Yumi back to reality.

"Yes, what's wrong? Tell me." Yumi smiled down at the boy who just kept his eyes on her.

"I want to hug you; I don't like it when Mom is sad. I want to make Mom happy."

Yumi stared at her son, seeing Baekhyun in the boy. She leaned closer to the kid, letting Jesse wrap his little fingers around her body and hugged him. She felt relief washing all over her body at the touch of her son, and a peaceful smile graced her lips.

After a while, they parted from the hug. "Mom, let's go to bed; Daddy will be back very soon."

"Okay, son." Yumi carried him and walked up the stairs leading to her room, praying to heavens for Baekhyun's safety.

"Found it, Boss." Sonia said reaching the phone to the CEO who was busying loading his rifle with bullets.

"What's the location?" Baekhyun asked without looking at her.

"It's located in our old factory."

"Our old factory?" The Mafia paused. He turned his head over his shoulder to give Sonia a questioning look.

"It's shocking to me as well, but let's check it out."

"Let's go." Were the only words the Mafia blurted before getting into the car along with Sonia. Baekhyun was about to drive when Sonia stopped him by placing her hand on Baekhyun's shoulder.

Turning over to Sonia, Baekhyun raised a questioning brow at the younger.

"What's the meaning of this? Are you trying to seduce me?"

"What? No! Why will you say that?" Sonia pouted in embarrassment.

"I'm just asking because you're getting too close to me, and trust me I don't want to get in trouble with your Kris."

"Boss!" Sonia yelled in embarrassment and quickly covered her face with her hands, feeling all shy suddenly.

Baekhyun couldn't help but chuckle at how cutely the younger acted. He reached out his hand and caressed her hair down to her cheeks.

"You're so cute, Sonia," He praised, hand still caressing the latter's cheeks "but don't be shy. I was just joking."

"I know, Boss; but I only stopped you from driving because you're not in an ideal state of mind."

"I know," Baekhyun smiled at the younger and retrieved back his hand from her face. "but don't you worry, I know what I'm doing." starting the engine, he turned back his attention to the road,
