Flashback

if you love me, you should’ve asked about why i ask you to come back on that telephone call,

if you love me, you would’ve been there when Hee Jin had to go through her surgery for the first time,

if you love me, you would’ve reached out to me somehow, not just keep calling every once a month,

If you love me, where were you when i need you the most? oh yeah, you are there, for three years, reaching for your dreams, you know why did i end our call and never answered to your phone call again? because since that day i knew that you never put me as part of your dreams!

let’s break up, let’s end everything’s left between us.

Si Jin closes his eyes while Mo Yeon’s words keep playing in his mind. It’s already night when he finally reaches his apartment in Seoul. He sits down while he keeps looking down.

He feels exhausted, not physically but mentally, it feels like a thousand bullets pierce his heart but he’s not bleeding. He’s still silent when he hears his phone rings.

“Yeoboseyo?”

“It’s me..”

“Dae Young?”

“Can i, can i sleep at your place tonight? my wife..mm she kicks me out.”

“What? why?”

“Aishh, just let me come and then i’ll tell you later.”

“Arasso, just come”.

An hour later Dae Young already there with his backpack, and some bottles of soju.

“Myeong Ju kicks me out..” He drinks a shot of soju right away.

“Why did she do that?”

“Because she found out i told you about Mo Yeon.”

Si Jin looks at Dae Young desperately.

“Am i that bad?”

“Well, you are my best friend so, no, you are not, but..”

“But?”

“Mo Yeon is my wife’s best friend and because you literally make her cry so, yes, you are bad, at least for my wife.”

Si Jin smiles, one thing that he likes about being friend with Dae Young is this, their friendship is honest, Dae Young always tells him the truth even though Dae Young himself has a very kind and humble personality, but when it comes to Si Jin he never holds back.

“I’m sorry..”

“For what?”

“For you..”

“Seriously? no need, It’s a common thing for a married couple, well, especially if their wife is like my wife, trust me, buddy, before the sun sets tomorrow, she’ll call me back and ask me to come home.”

Dae Young smirks and confidence heard from his statement.

Si Jin takes out Hee Jin’s baby picture that Mo Yeon gave him right before they broke up.

“My daughter, she’s really beautiful..and smart..”

“She is, you know for her second birthday she asked me and Myeong Ju to buy her a replica of earth’s globe.”

“Really?”

“Yes, we bought beach ball that looks like that and she loves it, even now i think now your daughter already memorized some part of that globe.”

“Is she?”

Si Jin smiles proudly, but his eyes still look sad.

“Did something happen between you and Mo Yeon?”

“We..she.she asked me to break up with her.”

They go silent for a moment, then Dae Young puts his soju bottle away.

“Then what do you want to do with that?”

Si Jin looks at his daughter’s picture.

“She said i don’t love her enough, she said i never consider her as part of my
