Breakfast was pleasant, Jongdae and Baekhyun chatted as always, teasing but a lively early conversation nonetheless. It's until Jongdae brings up his upcoming date with Minseok that Baekhyun mentally sighed.

"I'm thinking I'm going to ask him to the ball",

"Already? Isn't it too early?",

"You think so? I don't want to seem desperate but I just thought it'd be good to tell him now so he can get the time off of work- if he even says yes",

"He will",

"You think so?",

"Have I been wrong so far?",

Jongdae hummed sipping his coffee.

"Well even if it's too early I'm going to ask him",

"In that case we should go shopping soon",Baekhyun said.

"Shopping? For what?",

"A suit?",Baekhyun leaned back in his chair,"You don't exactly have the best clothes for a ball",

"I was thinking of wearing a nice shirt and pants",

Baekhyun tsked and shook his head.

"It's a ball, you have to look good not just nice. It's formal",Baekhyun reminded Jongdae.

Jongdae groaned.

"How about for Minseok, you want him to think you're hot, don't you?",

Jongdae said nothing which Baekhyun took as agreement.

Amazing how just Minseok's name could get him to agree to that, it made Baekhyun a feel a twinge of jealousy but also piqued his interest.

"Minseok would also like for you to give me a massage",

Jongdae kicked him under the table as Baekhyun yelped.

"All you do is kick me",Baekhyun pouted.

"Oops", Jongdae grinned before Baekhyun kicked him back.

Two days later, Baekhyun and Jongdae were out shopping for a suit. 

"I feel like I'm shopping for prom again", Jongdae said as they walked around the store.

"You rented a tux for prom, this time you're looking for a suit, one you're buying",Baekhyun was going around looking at jackets, coats, shirts and pants, trying to come up with a look. He himself didn't really own a suit either.

"I don't even know where to start",Jongdae said as he looked through some dress shirts.

Baekhyun stopped looking for himself momentarily to look at Jongdae.

Jongdae noticed he was staring.

"I thought you would stop with that now that I've already found Minseok",

"I'm trying to envision a look for you!",Baekhyun explained before he nodded to himself and grabbed Jongdae's hand to take him to the sections he needed to be in, placing up shirts and pants to Jongdae to see what would best fit what he was envisioning.

"Red?", Jongdae asked as Baekhyun handed him a red suit jacket along with red dress pants.

"It's more of a maroon color actually. It's Valentine's Day, you need to dress in the colors of love it'll bring you good luck",

"Is that actually true?",

"I think so?",Baekhyun picked out a black dress shirt and a black turtleneck and handed them to Jongdae.

"This with the red?",

"Maroon",Baekhyun corrected,"And trust me it'll look good, everything's your size by the way so no need to bother trying it on",

"What if it doesn't look good on me?",

"How many times am I going to ask you if you trust me?",

Baekhyun was right, he hadn't led Jongdae astray so far, in fact he's been the guiding light he never knew he needed.

"What about you?",

Baekhyun looked around.

"It might take me awhile for myself, it's easier to help you out than it is to help myself",Baekhyun said thoughtfully his eyes on the clothes as his hands moved item to item away, searching for the right one.

"I'm gonna go pay for this then. How about I meet you at the food court?",Jongdae suggested.

Baekhyun nodded in agreement, tapping at his lips as he scanned his choices.

Jongdae couldn't help but chuckle and shake his head, when Baekhyun concentrated he was in his own world.

Baekhyun was taking longer than Jongdae expected so he let himself wander into other stores, while wandering he decided he'd buy a Valentine's Day gift for Minseok, he wasn't exactly sure what, though.

He wanted it to be something nice that he'd actually really like.

That's when he spotted a manga section inside a store, he brightened up, remembering that Minseok had mentioned to him really liking the anime Prince of Tennis.

 Jongdae decided to look for the manga version and get him some volumes. He could give him that and maybe some flowers, that'd be a nice gift.

After Jongdae had found what he wanted, he headed towards the line to buy them, but stopped suddenly, a rack of necklaces catching his eye.

He walked over, looking through them mindlessly not really looking for anything.

Until he got to a dove pendant, the white bird was on a silver pendant.

A white dove, a symbol of love and peace, Jongdae smiled to himself as he got the necklace from the rack, the love god deserved a present himself on Valentine's Day too.

"There you are, where were you?", Baekhyun was already at the food court when Jongdae went back, he had bags in his hands.

"You were taking a long time so I shopped a bit more",Jongdae held up the new bag.

Baekhyun raised an eyebrow, being able to see the manga through it.

"Manga? What series did you get?",

"It's not for me. It's Prince of Tennis, Minseok's favorite",

Baekhyun merely nodded, uninterested already as his eyes looked around the food court.

"Let's get something to eat, you took so long. I've been waiting for you to get back so we could get some food",Baekhyun said.

Jongdae scoffed.

"Me? You were taking hours,"

"I want ice cream",Baekhyun announced.

"As a meal?",

"Are you my mom?",Baekhyun snorted as he walked towards an ice cream shop.

"Do gods even have parents?",Jongdae asked curiously.

"How rude, do you think we just pop out of thin air?",Baekhyun raised an eyebrow as they stood in line

"Yeah?",

"Well...we kind of do. We don't have parents. Not that I know of...One day I was just there and I had these duties. I worked directly under Aphrodite, but she wasn't my mother. I think I asked that once, where I came from, but she only smiled and said I came from the sun",

"So...you're related to Apollo?",

Baekhyun shook his head.

"I'm not related to anyone, I pretty much did just pop out of thin air and now I'm here",

Jongdae wondered what that must be like. No parents, no siblings, suddenly you're a minor god working for a goddess and soon afterwards you're a minor god all on your own. Seems like a lot to deal with. Seems kind of lonely.

"I was never really alone though",Baekhyun spoke as if he had read Jongdae's mind,"I did meet other minor gods, other types of immortals. Eventually I met Yifan, Luhan and Tao. They're the ones I've known for a long time, they're practically family. I of course have the creatures near my temple and my worshipers and those who come to my temple. They aren't many but I appreciate all of them and love them dearly",

"And you have me now too",Jongdae added, Baekhyun looked away from the menu to look at him,"You've got a new friend. Also Chanyeol and Kyungsoo, Chanyeol seems to treat you as a friend already and Kyungsoo will warm up eventually",

Baekhyun smiled at him.

"Yeah...I have you guys now too",
