White. Just like all the other days on the Star Dust Land. Jennie was sitting down on a white pile of sacks, chewing on some black cherries. The wind was brushing through her long locks of hair, while on her lips a wide grin was plastered.

“Ah, these cherries are so tasty. I’ve been missing them. Oh- Jane!” she calls out her best friend’s name as soon as she sees her

“Jenn?” Jane does a pirouette in the air and sees her friend, waving excitedly at her while some sparkly dust falls off her wings out of happiness.

Jane was not too different from Jennie- just like every other fairy on that land was. Everyone had really white skin, black eyes, white or black hair and usually black clothes. They were a land of colourless fairies, where they had to work every day to get their food and to ‘pay’ the rent.

They didn’t know much about the other universes, some of them didn’t even know that other forms of living do exist on that planet.

Jennie knew of their existence, and that’s only thanks to Jane. Her family was really rich and thanks to that, they could use money for information. She found out from Jane that the life on Earth is way different than the one she’s living already. She heard that people don’t have wings there and that fairy dust is considered some kind of story for children.

“What? So they can only fly using huge flies?” Jennie asks with a frown on her face

“They are not flies! They look like flies, but they are called air... airlane? Airplanes? Airplanes! Yes, that’s what they are called.” Jane nods

“But then- how do they fly in those… arlines you said-“ Jennie asks while blinking confused

“Ahh… you know when you step inside a fallen mushroom? It’s just like that. It’s a looooong room with windows and you fly from one place to another one. Father said it’s really nice and useful for people with no wings!” Jane says while chuckling softly

“Oh… I understand. Sounds interesting, though I prefer my wings!” Jennie laughs softly

“But Jennie… if you meet my parents, don’t tell them I told you, okay?” Jane asks then gulps nervously

“Ah… so they still don’t like me, do they?” Jennie says while laughing bitterly. “Though, what have I done to them? I did nothing bad. And with me… you’re only having some fun as well. You must be bored, staying all day in your house and doing nothing.”

“Yeah… I don’t really understand either, but… they keep telling me to stay away from you and I don’t want that. And I hate it that we have to hide from them sometimes!” she sighs deeply. “I got to go, Jenn. They said to be home before the bird throws three stones on the ground and they already threw two. Bye!”

Jennie nods without answering to Jane, seeing her flying back to her home. Jennie has always been a single child, with no parents. She never felt the love and affection of some parents, so she can’t really understand Jane’s so-called happiness.

Jane was one of Jennie’s closest friends, if not the only and best friend she ever had. Jane was much more of a shy girl, who’d only stay hidden and observe instead of trying things herself. Regarding personality, she was different from Jennie. Jennie was a bold girl, who’d do anything that looks fun and makes her happy. This is one of the things that Jane’s parents hated about Jennie- she had a big influence on their daughter. If
