Sungjae decided to venture out of his room and look for Joy. He was not sure if she had any plans for the day. He had mentioned her name to his mother impulsively, and now it was up to him to actually get her to agree to come with.

When he saw the neat and tidy kitchen, he started to feel butterflies in his belly. What if she was out? How would he ask her to go with him tonight if she was out? Or it could be worse, she could have had other plans and would not be back at all until midnight. 

The sound of music coming from her room made him breathe in relief. At least she was home. He hesitated in front of her door. Perhaps he should ask her to go out for lunch with him first; to butter her up before asking her to come tonight. He needed to eat anyway. He was famished because he had skipped breakfast, so it would almost be like killing two birds with one stone.

He steeled himself and knocked on the door tentatively. After few seconds, she opened the door and stuck her head out. "Yes?" She asked.

"Do you want to go for lunch? I'm hungry." He gave her a small smile. She appeared to think about it for a moment. "It'll be my treat." He added quickly.

That earned him a grin. "Okay, give me five minutes."

***55 minutes later***

"Why are we eating burger for lunch?" Joy frowned at him. "I thought you are super hungry?"

"Ermm.." He had not gathered the courage to ask (beg) her to come with him to dinner with his parents. He drummed his fingers on the table, eyes looking everywhere but her.

It did not quite turn out the way he planned. She wanted to have a Korean traditional meal but it would take a while to go to the restaurant that she wanted. It was her own fault for taking forever to get ready anyway and now they were short of time if they want to be ready for dinner. He decided his best bet was to grab something quick for lunch and be back home in an hour to get prepared. The journey to his parents' house will take another hour and Joy will need at least one hour and a half to prep herself. Bottomline, they should really hurry.
