When Yoon Gi entered the house, his mother appeared from the door of the kitchen and smiled to him, “You're here? How are you?” “Fine. And you?” he answered as he dumped his shoes in the cabinet. “It smells nice. What are you doing?” “I’m good. And Your Hyung is here so I'm making side dishes. Do you want some?” “No, thank you. I'm staying with Ogres, you wouldn't be able to make enough.” Mrs. Min* jumped on her spot, “Ogres?! That's dangerous, Yoon Gi!” “They're not real Ogres, Eomeoni! They eat like Ogres though...” “Oh you scared me for a second here...” “Am I that much out of my mind?” “Well, you once played with Mermaids when you were a young kid who didn't know how to swim, and not long ago, you accepted a dual with a Dark Elf. Does that answer your question? Go in.” Yoon Gi chuckled. He didn't remember the Mermaids episode as he was too young. But he knew he almost died drowning because his family was still joking about it. Well, they were scared to death that day but now they could laugh. Mermaids and Mermen, known by different names depending on the languages and the countries, were not like they were described in legends or fairy tales: beautiful beings luring humans with mesmerizing voices to wreck their ships and drown them, or sweet ladies who liked to sing on a rock while combing their hair. They were not all kind or bad, not all beautiful and they definitely were not all gifted for singing. Yoon Gi entered the living room, leaving his mother behind. “Where's Dad?” “Playing Baduk with Mr. Lee!” she replied from the kitchen. His brother was sitting in the sofa, watching one of those ridiculous gag show. Yoon Gi could barely crack a smile at them but Min Yoon Jae was grinning widely. “Are you actually enjoying this?” Yoon Gi interrogated as he plopped down next to his brother. “No, I was thinking about that time with the Mermaids. I still remember when I turned to the sea and there was only your diaper popping out of the water.” “Nonetheless, I managed to make the Mermen jealous since all the girls only had eyes for me.” “That’s what the parents told you?” Yoon Jae scoffed. “From what I remember, you kept talking, so they got annoyed, and tried to get rid of you by throwing a small wave your way. But you really got swept by the wave and since your head was too heavy you were not able to get it out of the water.” Yoon Gi sneered, “Impossible.” Yoon Jae laughed at his brother’s reaction. Then he furrowed his brows and started sniffling the air. “What’s this smell?” “What smell?” He leaned toward Yoon Gi. “It comes from you,” he noticed as he kept on sniffling his brother. “Ah, Hyung, stop!” “There’s an human smell on you. I thought you didn’t like them? What happened?” “Since when did Goblins like Humans? It’s just that our parents are-”
