“Unfortunately, we don’t have enough time to evacuate the Humans. So we should try to attract the army in an area with as little habitations as possible.”
“It’s not big. It shouldn’t be too difficult,” Seok Jin remarked.
Caranor grabbed a map and continued his explanation with the paper under his hands.
“The army is arriving from the North and we should stop them as soon as we can. We suggest to attract them to the mountains near Iksan that are up North from Jeonju. A part of our army will meet the Dark Creatures on their way and lead them to the mountains, where the other part will be waiting.”
“How many people do we have?” questioned Ji Min.
“With the fighters of our tribe and the Creatures from the region who gathered, about hundred sixty. But numbers don’t make everything.”
The more I listened to the strategy, the more my blood was boiling. Fyhdohr had cornered us. We couldn't just let the Dark Creatures attack humans, he knew it. So he made it impossible for us to avoid the battle.
“Yong Gi?”
“Mmh.”
“You’re summoning your Maryeok and creating a lot of magic right now.”
“Huh?”
I hadn’t noticed and didn’t feel it until I turned to Tae Hyung. There was that intense electricity thick around me, the Maryeok and magic were so compact that it seemed tangible. It was as if I was overflowing, I felt like I was going to explode.
“S-Sorry!”
I was startled by the sudden power, and even more afraid I could hurt anyone. I quickly moved away, apologizing in loop. I still wasn't completely used to having magic. And controlling it still was a difficult task.
“Don’t worry. It can happen to anyone,” assured Nídhil. “You're not putting us in danger so don't be scared of yourself.”
How did she...
She smiled. “All Creatures go through that. You’re just having a sort of late puberty.”
“Na Young-ah? You’re here?”
“Yes. You can come in.”
Tae Hyung lifted the fabric of the tent to let his body pass the entrance. Na Young was standing next to her bed, pacing back and forth in the small space and fidgeting with her fingers nervously.
“Are you alright?”
“Yeah! No problem!”
She made an effort to stretch her lips, which resulted in a stiff smile. Then she turned around and started walking again.
“Um... Okay.”
Tae Hyung slowly stepped closer to the small the girl. He racked his brain for something to say. But just ended up sighing in defeat.
“This is more difficult than I thought...”
“What?”
“N-Nothing!” the young man exclaimed desperately. “Oh! I think you didn’t tie the armor correctly here!”
“Really? Where?”
“I’ll help you.”
“Thank you.”
