'Freeze!'

BANG! BANG!

Two loud gunshots penetrated the quiet darkness. The sound of a heavy body plummeting to the ground was heard.

Silence.

I intently held my smoking gun and stood in place as I watched the criminal fall. I slowly reeled the gun back into my pocket. Looking down towards my feet, I saw my frightened client lying on their stomach, covering his ears from the powerful sounds of a gun.

I slowly crouched on one knee and whispered into his ear, 'Call 911.'

'How did you know he was the killer?' He asked while pouring a glass of whisky. He offered a glass which I refused.

'I saw him washing his car.' I replied.

'I saw him, too.' He retaliated.

'You don't wash cars in parking lots.'

'Ahh,' He gave a light chuckle. 'I see. You know, you are very skilled at this job so I'd like for you to stay. Permanently. I will double your average pay if that makes you satisfied.' He gave me a genuine smile.

I looked into his eyes and replied honestly, 'thank you, but I have to decline. I'm no good in a permanent position, my feet fall asleep. It's best if you find another bodyguard.'

'I see. Well, thank you for saving my life. I wish you all the best...
