Chapter 13

Sook Joo POV

“Today is the day!” I cheered as I looked at our kitchen. I have done quite a lot and I haven’t got enough sleep.

Hyun ae unnie is my newfound friend in the university and she is kind enough to let me help her with her volunteer work. They will be having a joint birthday party in the orphanage. I am not really sure why they need a joint birthday party but for all I know it’s the next big thing after Christmas.

“Sook joo, are you ready?” Changmin oppa is waiting by the door.

“Almost oppa.”

“Whoa. What’s this?” He said as he entered.

“We are going to the orphanage right? I think the best people who will get to try our products should be the kids.”

“Ahhh.. right.” He said while taking one and eating it. “And this is really good Sook joo.” He said giving me a thumbs up.

It feels way better than winning any lottery. It’s feels like I have achieved something great seeing Changmin oppa eating happily. I wish to see those kids happy faces too later.

“Unnie!” I happily skipped towards Hyun ae unnie holding a basket of prepared sandwiches. I made sure I separated a basketful of easy breakfast for everyone. I kept all my baked goodies in the truck to share later. As Hyun ae unnie faced me I welcomed her with an excited giggle, “I baked cookies and muffins, and scones, and cinnamon rolls, cranberry swirl loaf and date loaf slices, cornbreads and ahmm.. every other bread I could think of.”

“All in there?” she pointed at the basket I am holding with a weird confusion in her face.

I shook my head and pouted at the truck beside me. “No, all in there. These are just sandwiches.”

She stood gaping at the truck. I wonder why? If it’s a birthday party we should have a lot of goodies right? I would like to explain myself to Hyun ae unnie but Jaejoong oppa, one of Changmin oppa’s hyungs stole her attention. I am not really comfortable around him yet. Jaejoong oppa seems like a cold person in my opinion.

“I called for help.” He gave her a boyish grin and I swear I saw Hyun ae unnie blush. I wonder if she likes him? “You know everyone right?” he asked her.

“Hyun ae sshi!” Junsu chirped happily as he took her hand. “What are we doing first?”

I heard Yoochun oppa coughed taking Hyun ae’s hands away from Junsu and lightly bowed and kissed them. “Nice to see you again.” He told her as he winked.

What are these guys doing? Why is everyone all over Hyun ae unnie? I really want to save her at the moment but I heard an angry clearing of throat from Yunho oppa. “Let’s get going then.” He said an edge of weird warning and possessiveness in his voice.

Jaejoong took Hyun ae unnie whispering to her towards his car.

“Yah!Hyung! That’s character assassination. Slander. Libel. Defamation. False accusation.”

Changmin oppa took my basket as he signaled me to follow him. “Hyung stop being so childish already.” He shrugged his shoulders and turned to me. “And you, you go with me. Don’t even dare to go with any of those weirdos.”

“But I’m a weirdo oppa.” I told him. “I don’t mind being with weirdos.”

Changmin oppa held my hand and took me to his car not saying a single word.

“Are you angry with me?”

“No cupcake.” He said. It started to become his endearment for me, I guess.

“Why are you so weird?”

“Because my girlfriend is a weirdo.”

I caught my breath as he said that. His girlfriend? Is that me? That couldn’t be right? He didn’t say pretend girlfriend but girlfriend. I am the pretend girlfriend and not his girlfriend. So is he pertaining about me or not? A number of thoughts came to mind but I never get to ask him since we already arrived in our destination.

Should I ask? Maybe later.

As we arrived Hyun ae unnie explained everything that we are going to do. We’ve decided to split up the team. Yoochun and Junsu decided to help setting up the chairs. Changmin volunteered himself in the techie stuff and sound system while I am stationed on my favorite part, which is food. Hyun ae unnie was left with decorations with Yunho and Jaejoong.
