The Target

As arranged and geniously hacked by the IT specialist, Dong Woo managed to book tickets for them all to go to Spain, Barcelona at the very last minute. It was still early in the morning when they got to the airport, but the place was never any less crowded. The sight of Woo Hyun and Hyun Mi together—two of the front faces among social public figures—had the audience going wild.   Woo Hyun instinctively wrapped an arm around Hyun Mi, keeping her close from the swarming media and random fans. He kept his well polished business smile on and readjusted the sunglasses on his nose, but Hyun Mi felt his worries when his fingers tightened on her waist.   “I am not too sure your motivational speaker disguise is a good thing. Look at all the attention,” Maerin uttered to her friend, following closely from behind with Tae Min trailing next to her. Ever since the previous night, they were practically inseparable.   “Woo Hyun is a politician slash most desirable bachelor of the country anyway. Any woman close to him is bound to get attention,” Tae Min argued. Even he got pushed around by random fans who now shoved a magazine in his hand. It was so chaotic he had no choice but to accept it with confusion, not knowing whom to return it to. Maerin’s head nearly touched his arm when she skimmed over the magazine’s content.   “And it seems you have been dating for a while now according to this article. Why didn’t I know about that?” Maerin asked teasingly, seeing a paparazzi photo of the make belief couple talking together and smiling like they were the only two people in the world. To be fair, it was the default look they always stared at each other with.   Hyun Mi was quick to snatch the magazine, reading through the words to get the main idea of the article. She looked up at Woo Hyun in disbelief. “As far as I remember, I don’t remember being your girlfriend,” she told him bluntly.   “Ah yes, we only kissed twice, so now it’s unofficially official,” Woo Hyun joked around, but winced a little when she pinched him by the arm, pointing at the article once more.   “This journalist, Hwang Yerin, wrote you said we are dating.”   “I may have said I like you,” he watched her flinch at his unexpected confession with reddening cheeks, “But then she changed the entire article. You know how the media is. They always falsify the truth however they like, expecting me to pay a ransom just to stop false rumors from spreading.”   “Hwang Yerin is quite notorious for it. She has an amazing reputation to write whatever she wants however she wants it. Even her boss can’t stop her,” Hana chimed in. The journalist was on the top list of people she was researching on before Hyun Mi came and asked for help with this little-turned-massive side project.   “Are you not going to pay to clarify the rumor?” Hyun Mi asked again, a little careful and hesitant. As if hearing a ‘yes’ was what she wanted and not wanted at the same time. He must’ve noticed her dilemma.   “I’d rather turn the rumor into reality,” Woo Hyun said, grinning with the dimples sunken in his face. He was so beautiful and charming, and one could hardly find any fault with him.   Hyun Mi felt her heart react at his words, and this time she did not even try to conceal her ever growing smile. She deliberately separated when they got to the baggage scan area, afraid he’d notice too much of her welcoming response.   “Smooth,” Tae Min said, as both he and Dong Woo gave the politician some approving thumbs up. Even Ji Soo was slightly bobbing his head along.   “I can teach you a few lines to try out on…” Woo Hyun cocked his head to Maerin who was waiting for her purple luggage to appear from the scanner.   Tae Min gulped, blinking his eyes nearly a hundred times within a second—a habit when he was panicking or extremely nervous.   “I don’t want Tae Min to become as greasy as you. I like him just the way he is,” Maerin said, turning to them with her luggage in her hand, obviously having heard the conversation. Tae Min quickly took the luggage from her hand, being the gentleman he was.   “I never said it was meant for you though,” Woo Hyun remarked teasingly at the younger girl, smiling proudly as if her indirect confession was what he intended in the first place. He winked at Maerin who was rather lost and alerted. “But thank you for informing us about your true feelings towards lover boy.”   Maerin then realized she had said too much. “I mean, like as in… The extend of which I like potatoes… Like.. That kind of feeling… You know…” She tried her best to cover it up, but always ended up making a fool out of herself in front of Tae Min.   To her surprise, Tae Min laughed, lightly caressing her head when the others weren’t looking. “I like you too,” he said.   Her eyes widened.   Their sweet moment was interrupted when they heard one of the security officers yelling something angrily. They turned back to see the object of his yelling being a very timid and frightened Hana. The poor girl was even shivering.   Ji Soo, who had been a guy of few words, was the first one to erupt in anger. He marched back and was about to yell back, if a stranger didn’t suddenly interrupt.   “Don’t be like that, Sung Jong,” the female newcomer had said, tapping the shoulder of the angered tall officer. She was wearing Korean Air’s flight attendant’s uniform; a feminine looking blazer in a soft pastel color of turquoise accented with a beige pencil skirt that wrapped her slender figure. A matching white scarf tied around her neck, barely covering her exposed neck from having her hair up in a neat bun. “They’re with me.”   “Do you think I have to let them go just because they are your friends?” The one presumably named Sung Jong questioned grumpily.   “Don’t forget I let your mom pass through when she brought all those seafood after her trip to Indonesia,” the female flight attendant spoke. “I remember it like it was yesterday.”   “It did happen yesterday,” Sung Jong remarked. He loosened up, lazily motioning his hand for Hana to pass without any further inspection being conducted.   “Thank you,” Hana muttered quietly to the male and was about to thank the female attendant if Hyun Mi and Dong Woo hadn’t suddenly jumped into vision, glomping the stranger.   “Hee-Jin!” They identified the female who was apparently not a stranger.   “Ah! I feel like I haven’t seen you both in such a long time! I missed you!” The female named Hee-Jin spoke with a squeal. Suddenly they were jumping around like little school girls who were separated over Summer Break, Dong Woo being the first to initiate wobbling around.   “Who is that?” Hana questioned, not entirely sure since they have never been formally introduced.   “This is Song Hee-Jin, our cousin,” Hyun Mi said. There was a sense of pride when she said the word cousin. “She is also an agent at the organization who was sent to take flight attendant classes.”   “Hi, nice to meet you all,” the girl greeted them cheerfully. Her voice was filled with a friendly demeanor. “I’ve heard lots of stories about you all and your missions. I will try my best to help out in any way I can.”   Woo Hyun was seemingly the most confused, being the only one who was not originally a part of the organization. “Wait, so, does the organization choose random regular people occupation for you all? How did she become a flight attendant?”   His questioned earned Hee-Jin’s attention, and she smiled warmly. “You must be W

Chapter 24: I finally finished this today.
I should have seen it coming with Ki Bum since I do watch a couple of spy movies/dramas.
I think my favorite part is seeing Hyun Mi threaten Mr. Lee and then her conflicting view on their mission in the plane.

Chapter 21: I love how there's another reference to HIPS with Hee Jin mentioning she nearly killed someone with a curling iron. It makes me wonder if that's where she got the idea to use it as a weapon.

Chapter 19: I love how Hyun Mi and Woo Hyun are closer which makes it sadder with what happens to him in HIPS.

Chapter 17: I like how this is kind of like a foreshadowing of HIPS and love the cameo of Hee Jin and Min Seok.

Chapter 14: I don't think Woo Hyun is lying to Hyun Mi.
I like how Hyun Mi and those close to her want to change what their company does. I couldn't help but think maybe one of the higher-ups in their company or maybe Ki Bum is using them for their own goals.

Chapter 14: Wait whatt that was unexpected... I've been feeling that Ki Bum and Mr. Lee were slightly off though, so I think they're both probably lying. There's no way Woohyun would actually deserve to be killed...

But on a happier note, yay Taemin and Maerin! The hand holding part was really cute XD

Chapter 12: Love the appearances of the other characters from HIPS, Seollin and Taehyung introducing themselves made me laugh.
I think my favorite part is when Taemin touched the check because one thing I learn from a game called "Women's Murder Club: Death in Scarlet" is that people tend to press a bit hard when writing. So whatever they wrote might be indented into the next sheet of paper.

Chapter 11: The part where they nearly got caught is so intense. It reminded me of a level I played in "Hitman 2", where Agent 47 has about at least 3 to 5 minutes to kill his target before his identity gets discovered.
Also, the two finally kissed! I laughed at the part where Hyun Mi realized the others might have seen it from the CCTV.

Chapter 10: Woo Hyun to the rescue! I find it sweet he's there to save Hyun Mi from Sang Gyu since she and the others were stuck on what to do.
