Sohye's POV

*RIIING*

Wake up, Kim Sohye...

My body had an involuntary urge to get up and stop the noisy alarm clock. I yawned and stretched and scratched my head beyond my shark kigurimi. I adjusted my vision and checked the time.

7:30 A.M.

Holy .

I checked the other bunk beds. Kyulkyung-unnie was already up and gone as Chaeyeon-unnie was still asleep. I went closer to her bed and nudged her.

"Unnie, wake up!" And she heard me.

"Yah...what's with the yelling? Give me five more minutes..." Chaeyeon-unnie mumbled.

"It's already 7:35 in the morning. We're going to be late for dance class!" I explained.

"So what?" Chaeyeon-unnie just said that to me and went back to sleep.

"Kyulkyung-unnie already left." I said.

"She what?!!" Chaeyeon-unnie got up swiftly.

She grabbed her towel and went to one bathroom to shower. I laughed so hard, also grabbing my towel. Luckily there was one more bathroom so I had to rush without any interruptions.

At the studio, Chaeyeon-unnie and I got inside on time. I saw Kyulkyung-unnie practicing all alone. Chungha-unnie was practicing with Yoojung, Doyeon , and Somi, and there was Nayoung-unnie with...

Me and my heart again...

It was Kang Mina. Ever since the nine of us were chosen to present a production number for the school, I was so overwhelmed to work with her. I've been admiring her for a while now but I was never that open. Chaeyeon-unnie and Kyulyung-unnie were official and I felt like the third wheel in the group. Yoojung has Doyeon and I'm not certain for Chungha-unnie, Nayoung-unnie, and Somi. 

"Hi penguin." I gasped when Mina was in front of me, giving me her smiles.

"Hi chick." I greeted.

And then she hugs me. 

How could you torment me, Kang Mina?? ♡♡

"How cute." Yoojung saw us.

"Just like us, right?" Doyeon joined in, wrapping an arm around Yoojung.

"That's our baby penguin." Kyulkyung-unnie mumbled.

"Don't you dare hug me. How could just leave without me?" Chaeyeon-unnie mumbled back.

"I'm too young for this..." Somi interjected.

"Yah! No puppy love allowed. Come on, let's practice." Chungha-unnie said.

Mina whined and lets go of me. A part of me was relieved from all the tension yet some part was whining like her. Doyeon and Kyulkyung-unnie whined as well but all of us went to our respective sub-units to practice.

Mina's POV

Nayoung-unnie and I were done practicing. I watched the rest of the sub-units and my eyes focused on one person.

"Distracted from the thing called 'love'?" Nayoung-unnie asked me as she sat down next to me.

"No..." I answered.

"Please...I know you fell in love with a penguin." She said and I blushed.

"She's not just any penguin...she's my cute penguin..." I mumbled.

I heard Nayoung-unnie chuckle. I continued to watch her as she tries her best to dance well.

"Sohye's really persistent. She's not a good dancer to begin with but she's working hard to be one. I like that." Nayoung-unnie said.

I like that too...

"When will you two shikshins come out of your shells? Is it really hard to confess towards each other?" She added.

"Huh? What are you talking about, unnie?" I asked back.

"The both of you like each other, okay? Seriously, the both of you are so obvious. The both of you may not see it and I may be Stone Nayoung but I can see it pretty well." Nayoung-unnie remarked.

"Wow...just wow..." I said, face-palming myself.

"Now go and confess!" She pushed me and I was taken aback.

"Are you really Stone Nayoung? I can't believe you let me initiate some points. I don't even know where to start." I whined.

"Aha!" She thought yet she maintained her stoic face.

Before she could say something, Chungha-unnie called us to gather. The both of us went closer like the rest as I sat next to Sohye. I gave her my crescent smile and leaned onto her shoulder.

"Teacher Yoonjung and Teacher Kahi sent me a message. They will be evaluating our performances and our final production number. They'll be here in two hours so...we have to practice and make this work or we're dead meat." 

"You'll be dead meat. You're given the responsibility after all." Nayoung-unnie mumbled something we didn't expect.

"YAH!" Chungha-unnie gave her a threat and all of us laughed.

Sohye's POV

All of us were busy practicing again. Kyulkyung-unnie and Chaeyeon-unnie were helping me with some steps and I was so grateful to them. During the practices, I made mistakes. I felt discouraged of my incapability but the two unnies helped me.

"Don't cry, Sohye-ya." Chaeyeon-unnie comforted me.

I felt tears on my eyes as everyone stopped as they saw me. I felt Kyulkyung-unnie comfort me. But one thing I didn't expect was Mina. She gave me a very worried look as she checked on me. But as she did, I regained my composure.

"It's alright, Mina-ya. I'm fine." 

"Okay..." She lowered her head and lets go of my hand.

I wiped my tears away and smiled at my unnies. The both of them held my hands and began to teach me slowly. I focused and did my best to execute the steps properly. Eventually, I got it. We practiced for three more rounds and the dance went well without any mistakes.

"Good job, Sohye~" Yoojung and Doyeon cheered.

All of them applauded. I thanked them a lot as Mina came to me and hugged me again.

"Good job, penguin." She said.

"Thanks, chick." I replied, hugging it back.

"Alrighty then! Let's proceed to the final prod number," said Chungha-unnie.

Mina's POV

*12 minutes later*

All of us were practicing again until we felt presences. Nayoung-unnie and I looked towards the door and the teachers finally arrive. All of stopped and greeted the both of them.

"Have you been doing well?" Teacher Yoojung asked.

"Ne!" We all said.

I looked at the teachers and Teacher Yoonjung reacted. I wonder what was that about until I saw Sohye bowing at them, greeting them personally.

How could my penguin be so cute? ♡

"Oh, Sohye-ya. I didn't expect you to be here. You wanted to be a good dancer?" Teacher Kahi asked her.

"Ne!" Sohye answered persistently, making the teachers chuckle in a good way.

So cute, Sohye-ya ♡♡♡

"Why, why?" Teacher Kahi asked her.

"I want to harness my confidence in dancing. I want to try and learn to dance." She answers.

"Ah, good." Teacher Yoonjung remarked.

"That's very good. And as your teachers, we're really thankful. May you work hard and be the dancer you want to be." Teacher Kahi finished.

All of us clapped. I clapped the most, feeling so proud of her. After that, we were evaluated of our performances. Our dance with Nayoung-unnie had no problem, the teachers in awe of Chungha-unnie's group, but I was worried of Sohye's group. It's not that I don't trust her...I'm worried of her. 

"Okay. Start on your poses." Teacher Kahi said.

I remember that time when we were evaluated on the first session of the practices. Sohye's group had the worst performance. Sohye was already the starting point but Chaeyeon-unnie and Kyulkyung-unnie? I didn't expect them to get wrong like her. They made the teachers so flustered, even THE Bae Yoonjung walked out of the practice room. But I observed them and they improved. They changed all the sloppy choreography and it turned out so well. I hope the best for them on this evaluation.

The dances went well. We were evaluated and they said that we were good to perform for the school. We were so happy. As the teachers left us to do whatever we want, we gathered ourselves and took our break.

"Wow..." Nayoung-unnie clapped for Sohye's group.

"I didn't expect that. That was awesome," said Chungha-unnie.

"Yeah, especially Sohye." I said and the unnies cooed.

Nayoung-unnie and Chungha-unnie pushed me towards Sohye. I stumbled but Sohye held me tight, making sure I won't fall. I gulped, hearing my intense heartbeat. 

"Hey! Why don't we have a showdown." Chungha-unnie suggested.

"That's a good idea," said Somi.

"Alrighty. Chungha and I will be in different groups. One of us will have an extra member so it's five against four." Nayoung-unnie said.

"That hardly seems fair," said Chaeyeon-unnie.

"It will vary. Chungha will back-up just in case..." Our Stone Nayoung joked again.

Chungha went to her and gave her a threatening look again. All of us laughed at them. I thought maybe they will be each other's one and only in the future. If only...it could be like that with Sohye and I...

"Okay. Choose your groups." Nayoung-unnie said.

I went to Sohye and wanted her to be with me in the group when Doyeon grabbed her and she was with Chaeyeon-unnie and Chungha-unnie in one group. I pouted and ended up being in Nayoung-unnie's group.

"Which is which??? Oh well..." Somi decided to be in Chungha-unnie's group.

"I take back what I said earlier." Nayoung-unnie said with her stoic voice and our stomachs hurt from laughing too hard.

Sohye's POV

All of us were in our groups, leaving a big space in the center. The music was played as the first round commenced. They pushed Kyulkyung-unnie at the center and we decided to push Chaeyeon-unnie. The both of them danced like madmen and we laughed a lot. But as the music got intense, it almost looked like a mating dance. We all cooed of the couple and they danced to the extreme.

"No PDA, please...child here..." Chungha-unnie pointed at a pouting Somi.

The first round ended and another music was played. Nayoung-unnie went next and danced. We wowed. Next to Doyeon, Nayoung-unnie was flawed with a model-like body and danced gracefully as a rolling wave. As she ended her turn, we didn't expect as Chungha-unnie raged her dancing spirit on the dance floor, almost taunting Nayoung-unnie with her moves. The last straw was that she wrapped an arm around her shoulder and kissed her cheek. We all cooed again and Nayoung-unnie's expression was priceless.

"Look who's talking..." She just mumbled and we laughed again.

Another round commenced and Somi danced first. We were happy and getting onto the beat as Somi danced like a little vitamin pill. Somi was always so cheerful like no virus is stopping her. Nayoung-unnie pushed Yoojung so it was like a competition of vitamins. The cheerful dancers were firing the dance floor with their energy and we were all giddy. 

"Round 4!" Yoojung cheered.

Doyeon went the dance floor and did a seductive dance. Yoojung had wide open and she was speechless. Yoojung's face was very priceless as Doyeon went closer. She kissed her finger and placed it on Yoojung's nose. We all cooed again as Yoojung danced in front of Doyeon, maintaining her cheerful self. Yoojung ended with a 'pop' and Doyeon faced us, blushing hard.

"Priceless..." Somi said.

"That's my girl..." Doyeon said, tapping her chest.

"Round 5!" Yoojung cooed.

I gulped as Mina went to the center. Suddenly, Somi looked at me and all eyes were on me...

Goddamn...

Somi chanted and told me to dance with Mina. I shook my head and yelled at her, saying no. But knowing my unnies and the oh-so-cute Somi, I was defenseless. Nonetheless, I fought back. In the end, I was pushed on the center. I faced Mina and I was so nervous. Mina is one of the best dancers in our group and how am I going to stand against this chick? If it does happen, there will be one of those days that chicks are more powerful than penguins...

Someone please help me...

Mina started with her dance and I was in awe. I felt like the cupid hit me in the chest as I fangirl over her while Somi hugged me from the back.

She's so pretty and fluffy I'm gonna die!!

Mina moves forward as she does wacking. The distance was almost close to call that I couldn't hold my admiration towards her. She gave me her crescent smile and a wink and I felt like I was going to die. If looks and dance moves could kill, I would've died a while ago. She danced and move closer and wrapped an arm around me. And as she swayed her hips, I was frozen. I heard the rest coo loudly and I felt like hitting them for dragging me into this. 

Mina's POV

It worked. It totally worked. I continued to taunt my precious penguin with my irresistable moves and she was frozen, her face as red as a strawberry. While this was going on, I was reminded of Nayoung-unnie's plan to finally confess to her. I moves even closer and whispered while dancing:

"I like you, Kim Sohye, my penguin..."

I moved away and waited for her to dance. Nayoung-unnie and Chungha-unnie called Sohye to come forward and dance. She started off with a catwalk and her seductive look. I would give a priceless look but I ran a hand to my hair and almost bit my bottom lip. Sohye had an arm around me and taunted me with her own moves. I found her so adorable thay I hugged her back, almost kissing her. I heard everyone coo and squeal at the top of her lungs.

"I like you too, Kang Mina, my one and only chick." She said back.

I felt my intense heartbeat and decided to let go and go back to our groups when everyone cooed Sohye to dance again. She did and she was so adorable that I wanted to tackle her and hug her like a stuffed penguin.

"Huddle up!" Chungha-unnie said as Gustas Tu was played.

We gathered at the center and danced to the song. I took my glance at Sohye and made my move to dance in front of her. As we danced, Sohye was a bit floppy with her dancing but she caught up to the beat. I really saw her improvement and I couldn't help but admire her more. As the dance ended, I tackled her for a hug. 

"You did great." I said.

"You were the best." Sohye replied.

"Mind me for the confession earlier." I said to her.

"Me too. But know that it was all true." Sohye said and I giggled.

"Now couple right here~~" Kyulkyung-unnie cooed at us.

"Welcome to the '99 squad. We should go on double dates." Doyeon said as Yoojung hugged her.

"I may not have a date but I least I have my parents, keke..." Somi said as she was in between Nayoung-unnie and Chungha-unnie.

The two eldest unnies could only facepalm themselves. All of us fixed ourselves as we were ready to go home. We, the couples smirked and went ahead, leaving the Im family to fix everything.

Chaeyeon-unnie and Kyulkyung-unnie went ahead as Yoojung and Doyeon spent time with me and Sohye. I watch Dodaeng do crazy stuff and felt a bit disturbed. Sure it was fun to go on double dates but I want to spend my time alone with my penguin. 

*RING*

"Damn..." Yoojung answered her phone.

We watch Yoojung as she answers her call. She gave a distressed look as she whines. As the call ended, she grabbed her tall girl and said:

"We're off to a certain errand. See you at school this Monday." Yoojung said.

We waved goodbye to the short and tall couple. I was relieved but then I grew nervous with Sohye around. But then, she held my hand.

"There's a street food stall by the corner. Let me treat you with some ddeokbokki." Sohye said to me.

"H-How do you..."

"I just know you love food as much as I do. We're a shikshin couple for a reason," said Sohye.

Wait a minute. Did she jusy say that we're a couple?

*chu*

I blushed as I felt her lips at my cheek. I lowered my head and held onto her arm.

"Besides...I have to treat my chick like a cute cinammon princess." Sohye delievered her cheesy line.

I pouted and kissed her cheek. She gave her smile while she blushed. I pouted and pulled her arm.

"Feed me, my penguin~"

"Ne!!" She replied and we walked together holding hands.
