Chapter 1 - Jihun
Mind & Heart AffairsPeople despise him. He just knew it. He can feel their pointed stares prickling at the back of his neck. His spine immediately tensed up with the intention of making himself more presentable. They have been doing this for so long that he is afraid. Afraid to look at himself to see the appalling appearance staring back at him. You do not need to inform him about it because he is well aware of it. That he is a monster.
His back was soaked with sweat and he was pretty sure that the people in his immediate circumference would be able to smell the foul odour that was emitting from his body. He can see their judging eyes, mocking him to say a word. The slideshow behind him was on display and everybody was anticipating on him to start his presentation.
He hates this. He hates school. He hates them. All the people that he needs to interact with daily. He knows that they hate him too. They might not say it but deep in his heart, he knew that he was a common enemy. All those people that tried to befriend him were all pretending to be nice. Nobody would be sane enough to want to be friends with him. His mother had made sure that he would be able to remember that piece of information so that he can remind himself how filthy he is every day, for the rest of his filthy life.
He can feel the lump in his throat as he struggled to utter a word. His lips dry and chapped even after his desperate attempts at moisturising them by his lips repeatedly. He felt small against all his classmates that was overshadowing him. Small despite being the damn tallest in class. He wished that he was able to run away from all of this that keeps on haunting him long after the daylight has settled down.
Growing up in a broken “family”, Jihun had to deal with a depressed, abusive mother that keeps on expressing her hate towards him as part of his daily life. His father is a blank piece of memory that had never even managed to enter his stream of memories.
