Easy-Going gone Bankrupt

Telecom Sisters

Min Seo woke up and looked around. She yawned a lot and got up to get ready for work. She checked all parts of her house and noticed the blue empty room. She was sad. It was So Hye’s room and now she was transferred to another relative, she couldn’t help but mope that she was gone. She remembered So Hye despite of her flaws. She remembered her crying again, not wanting to leave Min Seo. Min Seo got a good look inside the blue room and noticed something on the table. She went to look at something and it shocked her.

-Unnie, thank you so much for the best unnie I could ever have. I’m sorry if I was never the dongsaeng you expected me to be but my feelings as your dongsaeng were all true. I want to be your dongsaeng and I want you to be my unnie. One month isn’t enough to prove our bond but one month was enough for me to prove that you are the best. I got this pin for you, unnie. I’m sorry I couldn’t give it to you personally. I hope you pick me so that we will be together soon. Have a wonderful day, unnie. I love you, Min Seo-unnie.-

Min Seo looked at the pin. It was a little penguin. Min Seo smiled as hot tears flowed from her eyes. She wore the pin right away and grabbed the card. She puts the card on her drawer and went to eat something.

As Min Seo finished eating, she went to check on the box again. She looked at So Hye’s card and thought of her.

“*sigh*…why was she so depressing and sensitive?” She asked herself about So Hye.

But she knew another meaning aside from that. So Hye was depressing and sensitive but she has been Min Seo’s favorite so far. She recalled that So Hye excelled in class and Min Seo couldn’t hold her tears for she was so proud of her. Tossing that aside for a moment, she opened the box. She placed So Hye’s card next to Se Jeong’s and got a new card.

“Jeon So Mi…Easy-Going? Oh, she looks pretty and good.” Min Seo said.

  1. Dial *101#.
  2. If you choose this card, type “1”.
  3. This package is 50% faster. It’ll be at your household after her classes.
  4. This is the most popular child. But be warned. There can be…circumstances.

Min Seo had dealt with circumstances during the first four girls. She decided to take this one anyway despite of the warning. Besides, how hard could it be?

She came back from her work and decided to cook her lunch. When she ate a few minutes after…

*RING*

“Hm? Easy-going?” Min Seo called.

It was almost afternoon as she went by the door. As she got there, she saw the very pretty girl in the card. However, Min Seo sensed something. She sensed that this girl was going to have a bit of a bad attitude…and that’s what she’s seeing at this very moment.

“Ah, I’m so annoyed!! She doesn’t know “RPS” at all! You going to hold me and let everything aside, huh?” She called through her phone, took off her shoes messily and ignored the presence in front of her.

As they faced each other, the girl puts her phone down and hung up on her friend. Min Seo saw her and wondered.

“Hey…you’re my younger sister?”

The girl shrugged and ignored her question. Min Seo grabbed her arm before she could go.

“Hey! Are you ignoring me?”

“Oh, shut up!! What does unnie keep saying this and that have to do with me?!” So Mi yelled and Min Seo snickered of her rudeness.

“What’s with this trash penguin?!” So Mi grabbed the pin off of her shirt and threw it on the floor.

“Yah! What’s this way of speaking to your unnie? Do you want to get scolded?!” Min Seo yelled back.

“Ah, seriously!! I can’t deal being at this person’s house! I can’t believe I was sent here in the first place!! Seriously…” So Mi flipped her bag towards the floor and stormed off.

Min Seo was shocked of So Mi’s attitude. She scratched her head and managed to pick the pin and bag up. She pinned So Hye’s gift onto her shirt again and placed the bag by the sofa.

“What the…I was scolded?” Min Seo scratched her own head.

***

Days passed. For Min Seo, Jeon So Mi was the worst dongsaeng she had. She was rude, selfish, and a great liar. And at this day, Min Seo was working on a project for Intel when she was disturbed by very loud music. She almost broke her pen because of it and stormed out of her office to find the source of the noise. As she went down towards the living room, there was So Mi. She turned up the music and danced to the music like a party-goer. Min Seo was a bit startled as So Mi danced with a lot of energy. Min Seo hid by the door and continued to watch the little one.

“Damn…things went really downhill.” She mumbled.

But as much as she wanted to leave So Mi alone, she can’t continue her work with the loud music. She went towards the audio player and turned it off. So Mi stopped and whined why Min Seo had to stop the music.

“Yah…I can’t be bothered with my work because of the noise. Why don’t you dance at my studio by the basement instead?” Min Seo said.

“Unnie~!!! You had to stop it! I was just having fun and not bothering that work of yours! I was having my momentum going until you stopped it!!” So Mi raged and stormed off again.

Min Seo sighed. The good thing was that she can get the peace and quiet she wanted and the bad news that she wasn’t in good terms with So Mi again.

“How can I deal with this little brat? Seriously, my life’s going waaaay downhill.” She mumbled.

***

Min Seo sighed in relief as her work for the week was done. She was really happy to rest again. She arrived and got inside her house, a pack of So Mi’s favorite food on her hand. As she got in, she called for So Mi but she heard nothing. She searched for her everywhere. Her last stop was at her storage area and she noticed that the door was slightly open then some things were missing. She looked at all of the archives and shelves and noticed one empty space by the back.

“What’s this?! My 11-year old HP Laptop! Min Hyeong-unnie’s first guitar!!” She reacted.

She cursed and went to look for those things but mostly for So Mi. She locked her house and boarded her car. She turned it on and drove all over town to search for So Mi. She noticed a silhouette that looked like her in the park and parked her car at the parking lot. She got out and searched her there. She walked pass the benches and an arch…until she found her with a mall cart and a guy.

***

For So Mi, she had been a bad girl again. This time, she took some stuff from the storage area, stole an old cart from the market, and met with a guy, a customer of her goods. The guy checked on the things as So Mi waited for the deal to be settled.

“The power of this is working, right?” The guy asked, checking on the laptop.

“Of course the power works,” answered So Mi.

“Please lower the price a little more.” The guy pleaded.

“This is the lowest price I offer in my goods. Nobody gives discounts like me through a direct deal.” So Mi answered again.

“Hey, Jeon So Mi!!” Someone called.

So Mi and the guy faced the source and it was no other than Min Seo. So Mi grabbed the guy’s hand and puts it by the cart’s handle.

“Push~ Push~”

“Yah, Jeon So Mi!! You’re so doomed!!!” Min Seo yelled and ran after them.

The guy nodded yet he pulled the cart. So Mi hopped in with the stuff and yelped as Min Seo ran after them.

“Thief!!” Min Seo yelled as she ran.

“Unnie, I’ll use the money well~!!”So Mi answered.

“It’s worth so much but you get only less than 1000 Won!! And even if you want to sell it, I refuse!! That’s sentimental value, you brat!!! If I get you, you’re really doomed!!!!” Min Seo yelled to the extreme as her legs carried her as fast as she could.

So Mi got a speaker Min Seo bought for her. She played ‘Bang Bang’ and lip-synced the highest part of the song, using the roll of money like a microphone. Once she was done, she gleamed and waved at a running Min Seo.

“Hey, that guy who’s pulling!!! Why the f**k are you pulling it?!! Stop!!!” Min Seo yelled again, running.

Min Seo ran after them until the cart stopped to a certain location. A gang was there. Min Seo remembered those faces but they ran as they saw Min Seo. The guy pulling the cart and So Mi were wondering why they ran until the guy took a good look at Min Seo.

“Ahhh!! Choi Min Seo!!” The guy crouched and cowered.

“Yah!! How could you lead Choi Min Seo here?!! BABO!!” One of his teammates yelled.

The guy left the stuff and Somi and ran away like idiots. So Mi looked at Min Seo who was so angry at her. So Mi felt it and hopped off of the cart and lowering her head.

“Unnie, I-“

“You were about to sell stuff to those thieves!! You could’ve been a victim with their bad influences!! Lucky for you I got to remember them and stopped them!” Min Seo yelled.

“And one more thing, this is NOT FOR SALE. You got free money without selling these. How peachy...” She added and grabbed the cart.

Min Seo ignored So Mi and went on. So Mi was so guilty and followed her unnie. As they got to the car, Min Seo puts the stuff gently by the trunk. She tied the cart to a hook at the back of the car and told So Mi to get in. So Mi obeyed as Min Seo got to her seat and drove. They went to the market where So Mi stole the cart and brought it back. They settled it and went back home. As they arrived, Min Seo didn’t say anything and So Mi just followed her. So Mi went to the kitchen right away and there was a covered plate of her favorite food. She grabbed some and wanted to take a bite but with Min Seo buying it for her, she decided not to.

“You need to eat. You have been running around all day.” Min Seo said as she brought the stuff back at the storage area.

As the laptop and guitar were back on their spaces, she went outside when So Mi was at the door. So Mi already showered and Min Seo didn’t eat and wash yet due to priorities. Min Seo knew So Mi didn’t mean to but with her attitude, she still grew angry.

“What are you doing here?” Min Seo asked.

“I came to see you, unnie.” So Mi answered softly.

“What do you want now?” Min Seo grumbled.

“I want to say that I’m sorry. I’m sorry I took your stuff and attempted to sell it. I’m sorry that you had to run to catch me. I’m sorry I caused you trouble. I’m sorry for being rude and not be a good dongsaeng.” So Mi said and Min Seo was caught off guard.

Min Seo’s eyes dilated as So Mi cried in front of her. Min Seo went closer and So Mi hugged her so tight. Min Seo sighed and patted her back because So Mi was already clean and fresh.

“You could’ve got some other things in here. There’s this old shelf next to the guitar and laptop filled with junk you could sell to those idiots but why my guitar and laptop? Those meant a lot to me. Those were from my unnies.” Min Seo said.

“I didn’t know unnie. I’m so sorry…” So Mi cried harder.

Min Seo said her sorry for being too harsh on a 15-year old kid. The two shared their reasons of the whole feud. So Mi shared that the reason she took almost all of Min Seo’s stuff was for them to stop haunting Min Seo. Min Seo cried in hearing it and So Mi wiped her tears. Min Seo explained that those thieves were her old co-workers that have lost their jobs because Min Seo beated them in their game in the industry. They became thieves and with the new guy as So Mi’s customer, they might’ve used So Mi for their revenge against her. Min Seo felt guilty letting her sister unprotected at that time and So Mi felt used. So Mi also shared that she was so rude to her in the first place because she was afraid that Min Seo won’t treat her well like the others.

“Those winners always chose me. I met many relatives who wanted me as their younger sister but they were all rude to me. And when you chose me, I thought you were going to be like them. But I saw you…and you cared for me so much…” So Mi confessed and cried again.

“Look, you may be a huge pain for the past week…but I will be there for you no matter what. That’s what unnies do for their dongsaengs. Even if you’re rude to me forever, I will always look after you.” Min Seo said.

So Mi smiled at her unnie. She then pounced on Min Seo and hugged her again. She even nuzzled onto her shoulder and hugged her unnie more.

“Yah. I haven’t showered yet. Don’t hug me for long because I stink,” said Min Seo.

“But can I hug you after you washed?” So Mi asked and Min Seo nodded.

“Can I sleep with you, unnie?” So Mi asked again.

“Sure.” Min Seo answered.

***

With their reconciliation, Min Seo and So Mi got along. They spent the rest of their days like real sisters and Min Seo had been protective towards So Mi. Min Seo was impressed of So Mi’s maturity and her days went easily with So Mi so responsible. So Mi, on the other hand, has been doing everything for her unnie. She made projects on school based on Min Seo’s work, talked a lot about Min Seo to her classmates, and made a meal for Min Seo when she was busy working.

“It’s late, So Mi-ah. You need to sleep.” Min Seo said.

“I don’t want to. I’m not sleeping until you sleep too,” said So Mi.

“You may have a face of a lady but your body is still of a kid’s. Don’t forget you’re still 15 years old. Enjoy being a kid, okay? And a kid needs to be strong and pretty like you. So go to sleep.” Min Seo told her.

So Mi laughed but she nodded. But instead of sleeping on her own bed, she leaned onto Min Seo and slept. Not wanting to disturb the little one, she cradled her onto herself like carrying a bride, adjusted her seat, and went to work with a cute sleeping So Mi in her arms.

***

Min Seo also checked on So Mi’s health. There’s this one time when Min Seo massaged her feet and So Mi fidgeted when Min Seo hit a nerve on her foot.

“You have a condition on your stomach. Also, you have triggers in your glands causing your gastric condition.” Min Seo said.

“Daebak, unnie!! How did you know?” So Mi was impressed.

“I’m a physical therapist, So Mi. I know which part of your body has an ailment but I can’t cure that. I just relieve you from your ailment. How about I take you to the doctor this weekend?” Min Seo said and So Mi agreed.

*after one week*

So Mi’s gastric condition went to a minimum and Min Seo always checked on her.  So Mi’s sisterly love for Min Seo grew more and she did her efforts to surprise her with her favorite stuff. She maintained her energetic self and Min Seo liked it so much. And then there’s this one day…

“Unnie, hurry up!! The series is about to start!” So Mi yelled through the couch.

“Coming~!!” Min Seo chanted.

Min Seo sat next to So Mi and they watched a comedy series. They laughed so hard and during the break, So Mi took pictures of Min Seo on her phone. Min Seo also did the same thing to So Mi and they even made fun of each other. They watched the whole series and were getting ready for bed when a knock came from the door. As So Mi heard it, she hugged Min Seo tight.

“Unnie, don’t. Just don’t…” So Mi mumbled.

“Miss Choi? This is SK Telecom.” A voice from the door said and So Mi hid on Min Seo’s back.

Min Seo was skeptical as the child leaned onto her. She counted the days and didn’t miss one. She thought So Mi would be sent three days from now. But…why is the company here at this hour?

“It’ll be quick.” Min Seo said, facing So Mi.

So Mi shook her head and held onto Min Seo’s shoulders. Min Seo reasoned with So Mi but So Mi didn’t want to let go. Instead, Min Seo carried So Mi and the both of them went to the door. So Mi hid on Min Seo’s back as Min Seo opened the door slowly.

“Yes?” Min Seo greeted the representative…with a very peculiar guy.

“Good evening, Miss Choi. I’m here to inform you that Jeon So Mi’s transfer will be due early. She will be sent to a new family right now.”

“What? How can that be? Your time should be in coordination with the promo. Her schedule is still on three days from now. Why now?” Min Seo asked back.

“I’m here for the kid, Miss Min Seo.” The man behind the representative spoke.

“Listen Mr. Sam Ta Mi…” Min Seo knew him.

“I’m a customer like you. If you paid the company as much for the transfer to be early, it’s not going to work with me. Why can’t you wait for three days like the rest of the winners? That hardly seems fair…” Min Seo answered back.

“Now…don’t make this harder for all of us.” Mr. Sam snapped his fingers and summoned his guards.

“What are you going to do? Hurt a woman and force the child to come with you? How gay and low…” Min Seo mumbled.

The representative was too scared to do anything. So Mi heard it all and clung onto Min Seo for her dear life. Min Seo thought it was unfair that she refused. Mr. Sam wanted HIS way so he summoned his guards and forced So Mi and Min Seo apart. So Mi was so stubborn that she struggled beyond a guard’s grasp. She also cried, only wanting Min Seo to be her unnie.

“Min Seo-unnie~” She cried.

“So Mi-ah-“ Min Seo went to her when a guard kicked her stomach.

Min Seo coughed and crouched. So Mi bit the guard’s arm and went closer to her unnie. So Mi held onto her when she was pulled away again. Min Seo struggled and faced the guards. She defeated them and So Mi went to her and hugged her. But then, Mr. Sam pulled So Mi off of Min Seo and punched Min Seo’s face. So Mi quivered seeing such violence. The representative pulled the child towards her as Mr. Sam dealt with Min Seo.

“Unnie…” So Mi cried.

“Please! Let me be there for her, just for three more days!! Please~!!” So Mi begged.

“I’m afraid that can’t be done, little one. What do you know anyway? You can’t understand grown-up business.” Mr. Sam said.

“Uggh…just…take care of her and don’t hurt her.” Min Seo grunted as blood trickled on her nose.

So Mi got off of the representative’s grasp and went to her Min Seo-unnie. So Mi sobbed as she hugged her unnie closer to her.

“Unnie…this is my fault.” So Mi mumbled again.

“It’s not. It’s unfair but if I fight back, you might be harmed. It’s okay. You have a new family again. Now go, be a good girl, and pack the stuff you want to bring.” Min Seo said.

“No! I’m not leaving you! I will stay with you. I want you to be my unnie and nobody else.” So Mi said.

Mr. Sam heard it and he was pissed. She pulled So Mi away from Min Seo and the child broke into tears. She held onto Min Seo for as long as she could, not wanting to leave the household and leave the person she wanted as an older sibling. But she was made to go. So Mi cried as Min Seo could only watch her dongsaeng leave by force. She was tired. The punches and kicks hit her onto her critical parts of the body and she couldn’t fight back to gain So Mi back, even for just three more days. She didn’t realize that she lay on the floor and her whole world darkened.
