Eunsook reclined on the sofa, feet propped up, a pillow behind her back and a bowl of cereal resting on top of her pregnant belly. She eyed Taemin suspiciously taking a large bite, catching a drop of milk with the back of her hand before it dripped down her chin.
“The paints supposed to go where?” She nodded towards the paint can he had sat down on the coffee table in front of her, with a pale yellow swatch on the top.
“The nursery.”
“Tch.” She remembered their argument the weekend before. “What nursery?”
“The one that’s replacing my office.”
Eunsook’s mouth fell open in surprise. “Taem…seriously?”
She tried to sit up awkwardly, moving the bowl of cereal to the table next to her. “Don’t.” Taemin came and sat next to her, helping to adjust the pillow behind her. “I don’t need an office, but we need a nursery. I’m sorry I argued with you before.” He brushed some of the stray hairs that had fallen out of her messy ponytail away from her face.
“But why yellow?”
“It’s neutral, since we don’t know if it’s a boy or girl. It’s bright. And I thought it would look good with all the giraffe stuff you’ve bought already.”
Eunsook smiled.
“Is that okay? I wanted it to be a surprise but since you’re home all the time now…”
She nodded.
“Are you sure?” He noticed her eyes watering and her nose turning pink. “Awe don’t cry.”
“It’s perfect. Thank you.” She blinked and he caught the tears with his thumb before he kissed her.
“You taste like fruit loops.” He laughed before he snuggled next to her, placing his palms to rest on her large bump, waiting for the baby to kick.
