Things You Said With No Space Between Us.

Youngjae and Jaebum were in the living room. Jaebum was on the couch reading his favorite singer’s biography and Youngjae was on the floor watching one of his favorite cartoons.

Everything was so beautifully peaceful and silent. Nothing else could be heard other than the voices of the characters on the cartoon that was being played on the TV and the shuffling of turning pages.

Youngjae and Jaebum were too devolved into their own stories created by either their book or television they were following closely.

This was exactly what a happy marriage was in Youngjae’s understanding. To be able to enjoy each other’s company while still doing what you normally do or enjoy doing was the definition for marriage from Youngjae’s perspective.

Youngjae and Jaebum were enjoying themselves with their significant other next to them; there was no awkward air between them or any weird intense tensions. The two guys were just normally sitting in the living room doing what they would normally do as single unmarried people; the only difference was that there was another human being present with them in the room. A human who didn’t mind their weird habits like screaming at the villains for being evil or spontaneously and loudly singing along all the songs featured in the cartoon, or even making strange loud noises while scanning the book with their sharp eyes.

There was no space between Youngjae and Jaebum. Not literally of course as they were sitting about two meters away from one another but in the sense that there were so sincere and genuine with each other; they both knew each other too well to the part where they could even feel each other’s heartbeat.

“Youngjae” Jaebum suddenly said looking at his distracted husband.

“Huh?” Youngjae responded with his eyes still on the ongoing cartoon and whatever was going on in there.

“Youngjae” Jaebum said again.

“Huh?” Youngjae this time only looked up from the floor to his partner who was cutely pouting on the couch with his hands spread out. Youngjae chuckled as Jaebum wasn’t the cute type and it was Youngjae who usually acted cute or adorable to get Jaebum’s attention.

“Why are you not paying attention to me, Youngjae” Jaebum whined getting down from the couch to the floor where Youngjae was sitting and hugged him from the back.

“Is that cartoon more important than your husband?” Jaebum asked, kissing Youngjae’s cheeks over and over again. Youngjae laughed at how weirdly childish but cute Jaebum was being all of a sudden but he still liked this Jaebum. This Jaebum who didn’t care about his ‘manly’ and ‘tough’ image, who was affectionate and sensitive, who would do anything for Youngjae, who loved Youngjae with every heart beat was the Jaebum Youngjae decided to devote his life for; this Jaebum was the Jaebum Youngjae agreed to wake up next to and vowed to love until the end of time.

“Of course it isn’t hyung. You know I love you more than any cartoon” Youngjae confessed kissing Jaebum.

“And I love you more” Jaebum admitted smiling.
