Things You Said When We Were the Happiest.

Youngjae and Jaebum were sitting on a rooftop, gazing at the midnight sky. Unfortunately there weren’t any stars to look at but the two of them were making it work. Youngjae’s head was resting on Jaebum’s broad shoulders, their hands intertwined and a fond smile on both of their faces.

In these small moment only did Youngjae and Jaebum feel invincible, as if it was actually the two of them against the world and as if they were actually winning.

Youngjae had had a small incident earlier in class and Jaebum had to take him out for some fresh air to breathe so that Youngjae could relax his mind and relief his stress.

Youngjae was glad Jaebum was beside him at all times to calm him down and stop his random panic attacks that were caused by nothing and anything.

Jaebum was just glad Youngjae was beside him.

“Hyung, why does the sky look so lovely even when it has no stars to make it shine” Youngjae wondered looking at the pitch black sky that somehow looked different than any other days Youngjae has seen the same old sky above his head.

“I don’t know” Jaebum answered, peace and calm evident in his voice. Jaebum forget all of his worries and anger issues whenever he was with Youngjae. It was strange how much in peace Jaebum became whenever he held Youngjae’s soft hands that were just small enough for Jaebum to hold on to. In fact, Youngjae’s whole body was just small enough for Jaebum to hug him like his own personalized teddy bear.

“Why do you make me so calm yet nervous at the same time when you’re just a guy just like any other guy in this school?” Youngjae asked bluntly looking at Jaebum’s eyes that were almost invisible as there was a lack of light at night.

Youngjae and Jaebum had been sitting on the cold cement for almost 12 hours now. Both of their bottom halves were numb from the cold and from sitting in one place for too long. But neither of them cared as just sitting together like this was more important and more precious than any pain in the world.

“Why do I feel the same way when I’m with you?” Jaebum asked back Youngjae, with their hands still intertwined and Youngjae’s head still on his shoulders.

Youngjae loved Jaebum’s shoulders, as they were comfortable to put his head on and nap whenever Youngjae needed to nap or even cry on whenever Youngjae needed to let all of his suppressed emotions out.

“Hyung, are you happy now?” Youngjae questioned out of nowhere, now staring at his fingers that were locked around Jaebum’s big and warm ones. He loved how their hands looked together.

“I’m the happiest I’ve ever been” Jaebum admitted, closing his eyes and taking a deep happy breath.

“But why?” Youngjae’s curiosity rose again making him raise a random question again.

“Because I love you” Jaebum said kissing Youngjae’s hands with his cold and dry lips.

“I’m happy” Jaebum said again, smiling and kissing Youngjae’s trembling lips this time.
