Foolish
Description
Foolish
Foreword
If you ask Gerald, a friend of mine, (I am only compelled to call him a friend because he is my brother’s bestfriend but really, we get into each other’s nerves) he would give you the impression that I’m a stalker. In fact, he would so rudely describe all of my efforts towards getting close to Josh as obvious acts of stalking.
Who is Gerald to judge anyway? It’s not like I’m committing a crime here. Just because I know the guy’s full name including his middle name, his parents names and middle names, in fact even the names of his pet fishes and distant relatives, does not classify me as a stalker. I mean, who hasn’t called a guy’s phone using a private number at least every night just to hang up as soon as you hear him answer? I realize it is still so high school of me but it’s like brushing your teeth…a girl just can’t do without! I am cutting on the habit though…just prank calling him once a week but one can’t expect me to just go cold turkey so suddenly!
I don’t know why I always let Gerald get to me. He knows he irritates me and he loves it. He hangs around the town’s bar and bistro which I happen to own, just to bug me. I can’t figure out for the life of me why I let him talk me into hiring him to be my carpenter for the upgrade and renovation of my bar. Everywhere I turn, I see his annoyingly grinning face, mocking at poor Kimmy’s failed attempts at dating as well as my disasters with the whole ‘getting Josh to love me’ mission. Gerald is actually very good-looking…and funny…and smart…(I would never admit to saying this)…you’d think he would have better things to do with his life than be such a brownnoser!
