Why?
The Forgotten BandJunghan did not die, but he was severely injured and his entire body was aching. However, he was conscious, and fully conscious. He wished he weren’t though, because the pain he was feeling in literally every inch of his body was hard to bear.
He didn’t fall from too high up; he remembered that he hadn’t walked up too many staircases when he went up with them. He realized how stupid and overly cocky he was for going with them in the first place. He could have just run away and reported them to the police. But no. He had to be all macho about it.
For a moment, he recalled the moments leading up to the fall. He hadn’t had much time to process what Ren and Aron had said to him. The first being that his own mother had slept with Seungcheol.
That was enough of a blow. He imagined his mother and Seungcheol together in that way, and felt himself gag a little bit. The gag triggered reflexes in his body that made his body ache again and so he moaned in pain.
He was so angry. He felt like he wanted to go to S.Coups’ grave and kill him again. He wished S.Coups were alive just so that he could confront the leader about it. What had he been thinking? Why would he betray him like that? Why would a friend do something like that?
Moreover, why would his mother do it? His mom was happily married to his dad, or so he thought. Why would she cheat on him? Better yet, why would she cheat with Junghan’s friend?
Suddenly, his mother’s revived smoking habits and her paranoia made so much more sense to him.
It just felt like a betrayal on both sides, to so many people. It made his body tense, as well, which made it even more painful to think about because it physically pained his wounded body.
Something else the resonated with him from Ren and Aron’s conversation was that they suspected that someone else had started the fire, not S.Coups. S.Coups had taken the blame for someone else, they said.
The more he thought, the more he remembered, the more he pieced everything together in his head, the more he realized that his mother was probably the one that did it.
When he saw her when she came to Seoul to get him that day, she reeked of smoke. He thought it was because of the cigarettes, but he now realized that it was probably because she was at the crime scene of the fire. She was at Seoul. She was afraid of Baekho revealing her shameful secret, and so she set the fire.
He also remembered that diesel had been used to accelerate the fire. She was in a car. Cars used diesel. It made so much sense to him.
He also remembers S.Coups’ letter. He said: “good job. Live well” to a person he identified as “you-know-who.” It probably would have been his mother. He didn’t know what kind of relationship that his mother and S.Coups had had, but it seemed affectionate enough for him to say these things to her. He probably took the blame so that she isn’t suspected… he killed himself for her.
Junghan felt like crying as it all pieced together in his head. Everything made sense now. Why S.Coups had gone crazy, why he killed himself, why his mother was so strange, why S.Coups had written that letter…
It hurt.
It hurt to think that his own mother was an adulterous murderer. It hurt to think that her partner in crime was none other than someone Junghan had considered one of his best friends.
Two of the most important people in his life…
S.Coups, why?
Mom, why?
A/N: It's not done yet. Wait for it!
