Chapter 9
His Revenge
In shock, Eunhye turned her head to look at Kris.
He was looking at her impassively, no doubt knowing that she now knew where they were headed. His face was unreadable, betraying none of his thoughts.
He appeared to be waiting for some sort of reaction from her. She whirled back to looking out of the window, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of knowing he had gotten to her.
Her stomach was churning, and she could feel the tears clogging . Her hands in her lap, she struggled to compose herself just as the car screeched to a halt.
The driver rounded the car to open the door for her, stepping back to allow her to get out.
She took in the cliffs in front of her. Even though she was too far away, she felt as if she could hear the sea, the water splashing against the rocks, splashing on whoever stood near the edge.
She remembered the cliffs. Kris had taken her here before. It was a short distance from the villa.
The villa. Their weekend getaway. They would drive down here several times over the years they had been together. The drive had been long, nearly 6 hours long. They would leave on Fridays, spend the weekend together at Kris's villa before heading back to Seoul late on Sunday.
During her countless visits to the cliffs, which were a short distance's walk from the villa, she had admired the chapel.
Never had Kris told her that his family owned that chapel.
Eunhye had learnt about it the hard way 5 years ago, from her father of all people. The older man had furiously told her that Kris had never intended to stay married to her. If he had, Kris would have asked for them to be married in his family chapel. It was tradition for every Wu generation to tie the know in that chapel. But instead, they were going to be married in the church in Seoul. She had refused to believe her father, citing that Kris probably had some other reasons. But she was forced to believe her father, when hours later he provided her with incriminating proof, shattering her dreams and hopes into irreparable pieces.
Kris was walking briskly to the chapel. Eunhye followed much more reluctantly.
She did not want to see the place where Kris was about to be united with the love of his life. Her lips twisted in a grim smile. It looked like this time Kris was getting marrie
