~ 2025 ~

"So, what were you two talking about?" Jeongguk asked.

"Oh just the school days." Nam Joon replied.

"Oh!" Tae Hyung clapped his hands together, "How about that time Jeongguk asked that hot girl for her number and was rejected." 

"Shut up! No such thing happened." Jeongguk crossed his arms.

"Oh boy! I remember that! I had tears in my eyes I was laughing so hard." Nam Joon laughed whilst clapping and bouncing in his chair.

~ 2015 ~

The boys decided to meet up one free Saturday and go to the local shopping centre. They were sitting around a table in the food court when Jimin and Jeongguk noticed a girl at the same time.

They eyed each other and Jimin suddenly held out his fist, "Rock, paper, scissors. Winner gets to ask her for her number." 

"I'm in." Jeongguk smirked and held his fist out also.

Jimin lost and Jeongguk stood from his seat, puffing his chest out and acting cocky. The boys all smirked as he strutted towards the girl. He tapped her shoulder gently and smiled charmingly. She turned around and furrowed her brows, "Yes?" She asked, annoyed. 

Jeongguk looked back at his friends then back at her. He was shocked by her attitude and the aura around her was frightening him. His confident self disappeared in an instant.

"Umm.. I.. Could I please have your number?" He asked nervously. All of the ideas and pre-prepared lines were useless, he had forgot them all as soon as they met eyes. And not because of her beauty, but because she was scary.

"No thanks." She laughed and turned to her friends, before walking away.  

Jeongguk turned away and bowed his head from embarrassment as he ran back to the table. The boys were all laughing loudly, clutching their stomachs and wiping tears from under their eyes. 

"What she say?" Yoon Gi asked between his chuckles.

"Nothing, she's pretty but she's got a lousy personality." Jeongguk grumped. 

"You probably said something stupid." Jimin laughed harder.

"I did not!" Jeongguk yelled.

~ 2025 ~

"Dude, you were such a loser." Nam Joon nudged Jeongguk's shoulder and smiled.

"Says the 30 year old bachelor." Jeongguk retorted back.

"Hey! 29 years old." Nam Joon corrected.

"Whatever." Jeongguk rolled his eyes, "Same thing." 

A waitress approached the three men and smiled cheerfully at them, "Are you ready to order?" 

"Ah.. No, not just yet. But could I get a bottle of soju please?" Tae Hyung replied.

"Of course. Anything for you two?" She tapped the order into the tablet and turned to Nam Joon and Jeongguk.

"A glass of coke." Jeongguk said.

"A beer for me, thanks." Nam Joon said.

"I'll get those for you right away." The waitress bowed and left right away to fetch their drinks.
