Chapter 10: Trouble

Yonghwa made sure my first week at my job was a nightmare.He didn't fully explain everything I needed to do the first day and just left me to fend for my own with angry customers.

“Oh..sorry..” I bowed and apologized to a customer for being late on getting their order. I could barely make out what they were saying because the other customers were yelling at me.

“I'll hurry.” I told the table next to them. I rushed inside the kitchen to get their meal and came right back out and the darnest thing happen. I fell flat on my dropping all the food onto the floor.

“Maybe you should think about quitting.” Yonghwa chuckled as he walked past me right up to that customer to apologize. I watched as he charmed them with his flower boy looks.

I am so sorry about this she is new. I'm doing my best to train her but she's a bit untrainable as you see.” he told the table full of ladies.

“Oh you poor thing.” one of the pretty girls said and looked at me like I was a piece of crap. If anyone should be the 'poor thing' it's me. I could feel the urge to curse but I resisted. I cleaned up myself and the floor and resumed working. I won't let Yonghwa push me away I am not a quitter.

“Jihyo!” Gary had caught me in his arms. I almost ran into a moving car as we crossed the street. We started meeting up and walking to school together which was totally cute. “ Are you ok!” he paniced.

“Yes...thank you.” I hugged him. I was so tired I barely could see where I was going. Last night I got stuck washing all the dishes by myself at the restaurant. I didn't get finish until really late. Yonghwa had the nerve to tell the busboy that he could leave early so I would get stuck with doing his job.I was sore too from having to scrub all the pots, pans, plates, bowel and so on by hand.

“I'm going to walk you home you don't look so well.” he looked me over.

“No..I am fine.” I told him. “I just need a little caffeine.”

“One more mishap and you're going home, arraso.” Gary pouted and laced our fingers together. I blushed as he kissed my forehead. “I'll get you some coffee.”

Gary lead me into the school and took me straight to a vending machine in the hall that had all kinds of hot drinks. I watched him insert coins into the machine and retrieve me a can of coffee. He opened it and held it up to me lips.

“Say ahh.” he smiled.

“I can drink my own coffee without any help.” I chuckled. He still refused to let me have the can so I opened my mouth and he pressed the can to my lips and tilted it. The warm substance coated my tongue and gave me a small little buzz of energy. Gary caught me off guard when he suddenly pulled the can away and placed his lips on mine.

Sneaky..

It had been awhile since we shared a kiss like this. I instantly melted as he pulled me closer to him to deepen the sweet coffee kiss. My heart was fluttering as he switched from giving me tiny pecks to long breathing taking kisses.

CLANK

I jumped back from Gary when I heard a sound from the vending machine. I turned to see Joongki glaring at us both as he held his own can of coffee. Gary sensed my discomfort and held my hand and lead me away. I couldn't help but to keep looking back. His expression grew colder and I yelped as he crushed the can in his hand.

I forgot about talking to him...after all he was a cool guy but the way he looked at me made me want to stay away. Why do I have two guys who hate my guts so much?

Once we were at our locker my boyfriend spoke to me.

“Stay away from him okay.” Gary warned me. “ I don't want him touching you.”

“Ok.” I promised Gary but I get the feeling that bumping into him again will be unavoidable.

“We two need to hang out and do something.” Jessica told me as she pulled me away from Gary. We were all hanging out in the hall. The school day was coming to an end. I don't know how I managed to stay awake without fainting. Jessica was dying to take me somewhere and I wanted to decline but it was hard to resist building a friendship with her. I wanted to get to know Gary's friends.

“No way.” Gary stole me back. “ I need her.”

“You get her all to yourself all the time. Share loverboy.” she reclaimed me. I felt like a freaking toy and my boyfriend and friend were fighting over me in a store.

“I need to practice from my audition that is next week and she needs to hear me.” he told her as he re-stole me back.

“...fine.” she pouted. “How about we both listen. You have yet to let me hear your vocals! It's not fair that only Jihyo gets to hear. I'm your best friend and I'll be honest. Your girlfriend will lie cus she loves you. I'll let you know if you should give up.” she nagged him on and finally Gary got her to calm down.

“ALRIGHT...GOSH...STRESS!! You can hear me too. Please just chill, Sica.” he pouted. “Jihyo wouldn't lie to me AND I DON'T !” Even though Gary told Jessica to chill he started their argument all over again and I laughed as they fought back and forth.

“Jihyo..come on.” Yonghwa suddenly approached us and grabbed my hand.

“What...”

“I said come on..” he lean to my ear and whispered. “You work today remember.”

Aishhhh I am still tired from yesterday and I have to go right back! I really wanted to hang out with Gary and Jessica. I needed space from this job, I been working so much that I barely even have time to do homework let alone have a social life. Gah!

“Uh...sorry I remember that I need to help Yonghwa...study for..” I looked to him for help.

“Math test.” he finished my sentence.

“Yes, math!”

“But you hate math and you at it. Actually I am the pro at math he should be asking me.” Jessica was clearly seeing right through my lie.

“We are helping each other...hahaha...well we better go.” I dashed away before she could say anymore. I made sure to wave and blow a kiss to Gary who was sulking.

“Hey, what's you damage. You snatch me away right when I was in the middle of talking.”

“You were about to skip out on work.”

“I totally wasn't I had enough time to spend with my boyfriend.”

“You forgot you had to work...it's clearly written all over your face.” he stopped and looked me dead in the eyes. I couldn't help but blush in embarrassment. I was suppose to prove to him that I could handle the job but I already just goofed again.

“Fine you caught me...DAD. Thank you for coming to get me. I forgot to eat too..you should buy me some food too. Please Daddy~” I chuckled as I and to my surprise he laughed too for a second but quickly stopped himself and put back on the cold face.

HA...that was the real him. The goofy smile and chuckle was the Yonghwa that his friends knew. Will I get a chance to see him smile again?

I could sense Gary was beginning to get upset every time Yonghwa would drag me away to take me to “study”. It probably wasn't helping that we both were acting so suspicious. During out lunch break he finally popped the question right as I was in the middle of eating some kimbap.

“Are you two really studying?” he looked at us both. I almost choked as I swallowed. I knew this was going to happen. Stupid Yonghwa. He acted like he couldn't just text me like a normal person or heck just freaking let me walk myself to work. I am not a baby “I stopped by both of your houses yesterday and neither of you were home.”

HE WENT TO MY HOUSE! OMO...I am surprise my parents didn't bring that up to me. His pictures were plastered all over that awful Facebook page and I know they had to recognize him.

“When I went to your house your parents called me a girlfriend thief....” Gary added.

Oh..so my suspicions were confirmed.

“Gary..we went to the library.” Yonghwa told him.

“I checked there too.” his tone was becoming scary. This was a side of him I never seen before.

“ Uh...it was the other library.” Yonghwa was sweating now and I could see a nervous smile on his face. Jessica was also just as suspicious of us.

“Why would you go to the library that is all away across the other side of town?” Gary now grabbed onto me. “What have you been doing to my Jihyo?”

I actually would love to tell Gary how he had been tormenting me at work but then I'd have to tell him I had a job and then he'd be all super worry.

“I've done nothing, you can trust me.” Yonghwa tried to get Gary to relax.

“I'll trust you when you tell the truth.”

Why was Yonghwa keeping the secert anyways. I am surprise he hasn't just told Gary. He hated me afterall.

“Well well..look at the little geeks having a fight.” We all turned and stared at the sudden appearance of Nickhun and his buddies. They held in their hands bats and I gulped as they eyed us with a devious expression. “Mind if we join?” Then one of his friends made the first swing right at me.
