We Meet Again
Third Time's The CharmGive praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
Psalm 105:1
Minhyuk was the first one to overcome his shock. “Krystal, what are you doing here?”
“Uh, I was lost, so I came in here to ask for the street’s name so that I could call my friends and sister who are coming to pick me up,” she answered before asking a question of her own. “I’m guessing you work here?”
“Yes, he does,” interrupted Jonghyun who was slightly annoyed about the way he was being ignored. “And I’m his boss.” Turning to Minhyuk, he ordered, “There are some boxes in the storage room that I need you to organize. Go on, shoo.”
Frowning, Minhyuk grumbled, “Jeez, let me say talk to Krystal for a few moments first.”
“Fine, but I’m taking this out of your salary!”
“He always says that but doesn’t actually do it,” Minhyuk informed Krystal, rolling his eyes.
Hearing this, Jonghyun, who was walking towards the back, exclaimed, “I’ll really do it this time! And watch the cash register for me for a moment!”
“Sure you will. Anyway,” Minhyuk changed the subject, “how did you get lost, Krystal?”
Mouth suddenly feeling very dry, she began slightly hyperventilating as the horrible scenes of what she had witnessed less than half an hour ago rose from the graveyard of memories she wished to kill or pretend as if they were never existed.
Alarmed, Minhyuk worriedly asked, “Krystal? What’s wrong?” His eyes scanned her pale face, trying to figure out what was causing her to act in such an abnormal behavior.
She took a few moments to answer as she tried to carefully choose her words. Wiping her tears away, she asked in a pitiful voice, “What did I do wrong? What does she have that I don’t? Why do these things happen to me?”
“What are you talking about?” Minhyuk frowned at Krystal’s seemingly nonsense before realization struck him. The poor girl must have seen Kai and Seulgi on a date or something.
“Why?” she whispered, more tears forming in her eyes. “Is it my fault?” The sight of her crying made him upset for some reason.
“No, it’s not,” he forcefully replied, and at his strong objection, Krystal looked up, slightly surprised.
“How can you say that with so much certainty?” she asked quietly.
Minhyuk wasn’t sure how to respond to that. Fortunately for him, Jonghyun, who had walked back up front, interrupted, “Hey, Minhyuk, I’m about to head out to dinner. Think you can handle watching the store alone for about an hour?”
“An hour?” he cried incredulously. “Hyung, it shouldn’t take an hour to eat dinner.”
“Well, I’m going to a restaurant that's a bit far, so yes, it’ll take about an hour,” quickly came the retort. Jonghyun gave an apologetic look to Krystal. “I’m sorry for leaving you alone with him.”
Allowing a small chuckle to escape her lips, she waved his apology aside. “It’s fine. I hope you enjoy your dinner,” she said politely.
He grinned widely at her and nudged Minhyuk. “See, she’s nice. Why can’t you be like her?” Before the latter could do anything else other than let out an annoyed groan, Jonghyun had waved and chirped a goodbye before exiting.
Minhyuk ruffled his hair in agitation. “I’m so sorry you’ve had to meet him. You’ve met Yonghwa hyung too, right?” When Krystal nodded, he groaned once more. “Then you met the two most
