A Sister's Gifts
Third Time's The CharmMake sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.
1 Thessalonians 5:15
Because she lived in the dorms with Sulli on the weekdays, Krystal was only able to meet her sister on the weekends. It really wasn’t much considering how there were about eight days in the month on average when she could meet Jessica compared to the other twenty two days when she’d be at school. And for the past three weeks or so, the two sisters’ weekend schedules were filled with events and meetings, so they weren’t properly able to have a sister bonding time.
Jessica was determined to change that on November 8th, the weekend after Minhyuk and Krystal met to work on their project.
“Today, we are going to have a Jung sister bonding day, and nothing will stop us,” Jessica declared once Krystal stepped foot into the apartment.
The flabbergasted Krystal who was being led right back outside cried, “But I just got here!”
“Doesn’t matter,” the older sister said determinedly. “We’re going outside and enjoy some time together.”
“But I just wanted to rest!” the younger one whined, but shut up as soon as she received an icy glare from her sister. “On second thought, a sister bonding day sounds nice too.”
Krystal obviously had no idea where they were heading, so she asked her sister, but to her surprise, Jessica responded, “I don’t know. I just want to get out of the apartment.” Krystal really hoped they wouldn’t end up shopping the entire day like how they usually do whenever they had a girls’ day out.
Much Krystal’s chagrin, the two drifted about the city until Jessica was finally satisfied with their location, which was a quaint, little street with small, unique boutiques.
“Here,” Jessica happily declared. “Here is perfect.”
The younger sister raised her eyebrows. “What about a mall?”
Jessica looked contemplative as she thought about how to answer. “Hmm, I think I don’t like shopping where there’s a lot of people. I prefer being just with a friend or two when I shop.”
The two entered a small shop that was longer and narrower than it was wide. Because of its size, everything was clustered together, yet it felt organized. It felt as though there was a method to the madness.
A lone employee welcomed them before continuing to put up clothing in their respective racks. Jessica immediately went to the sale section while Krystal slowly made her way around, only briefly looking at this shirt or that skirt. Only upon finding a small table of jewelry did she actually stop for longer than five seconds and be interested.
She didn’t realize she was absorbed with staring at the various necklaces and bracelets until Jessica crept up behind her and said, “What are you looking so intently at?”
Startled, Krystal whipped around and let out a sigh when she realized who it was. “Just some jewelry,” she replied, shrugging.
Her sister peered over her shoulder to look at the glittering pieces. “Ooh, they’re pretty.” She shifted to take a better look at them. She straightened and looked at her sister, asking, “You still have that music note charm you bought on your birthday, right?”
Recalling the beautiful, small gold charm, Krystal smiled and nodded. She was surprised, to say
