Badass Robot

What if

Class concluded. I sounded like a badass robot being a unintentionally. This is what a lecturer of a class consisting of 160 students is suppose to act. I drew up that point all on my own. Actually, I'm just an idiot. 'Idiots.' I muttered as I tidied up my stack of paper.

A shadow appears. 'Dr Kim.' a small voice greets me. Facing her, I couldn't help but be confused at this individual. She is pretty, sophisticated and, most importantly, smart. 'Question?' I answered. She stands there, muscles looking slightly more tense. I glanced at her hands being placed one over the other as they held her book. 'I need your assistance on a matter I would rather be kept private. Somewhat of an extra tuition.' I gestured her to take a seat. Considering how curious I was getting even before she states the full details of her proposal, we both needed to rest our laurels.

I didn't prompt her for more specifications upon sitting. I simply let the silence of a ticking clock be her motivator. 'Well...' she lets out a deep exhale. Nervous. I'm liking this. 'Earlier you stated the battle of nature and nurture. Used the example of Genie to support your point of how important a child needs proper nurture to fit into society. Then show how nature have shaped us biologically such that throughout history that human have the instinct to prey upon the weak. In other words, it is dark psychology. That maybe it is nurture that had kind of been the key to unlocking the black box that each and every holds.' I nod my head at her perfect summary of my half an hour lecture.

'Your main point, Ms Seo.' I directed her to a more direct approach. 'I need to understand love.' If I had liquid in my mouth, it would have been spalted over her face. 'What?' I could only respond with that word. 'An individual confessed. Called me her soulmate. It is perplexing enough that she loves me when I'm rather 78 percent sure that I have no indulge in any signs that may imply an interested party of coutus. I mean why should a soul need to mate anyway when it may very well be an intangible object that is conjure up for the convenience of mankind in addressing the unknown.' My throat dry. My mouth just wouldn't close.

My eyes squint. Just who is she. Am I staring at the true badass robot?

'Dr Kim?' she politely poke away the bubble of bewilderment. Mouth opened then shut close. Leaning back onto my chair, I kept our gaze locked. She doesn't even blink. A finger rises and points rudely. 'I'm a doctor that had majored in criminal psychology. I'm not sure if I'm the right individual to be consulted.' I state the facts and hope she leaves after that. 'No offence Dr Kim, I believe you are the perfect candidate.'

Wow. That word blasted my whole mind upon hearing her response. 'Your reputation in the university is rather perculiar. I must say a lecturer with such prestige qualifications yet is being upstaged by the stories of her uality is rather illogical. Still, with the rumours and gossips that gallops the rounds of the psychological faculty, I can firmly say that you may be the only reputable source that will enlighten me. Being raised in a staunch christian household, I must say lesbians are taught of to be as bad as Lucifer. So please, will you spare some time in educating me about love between two homosapiens?' Listening to her case, I hereby conclude the true badass robot sits before me.

Taking a moment, I sat upright. Her strictly straight posture is making my body conduct the mirroring effect. Perfect. 'Alright.' I spin the ring on my right index finger with my thumb. Processing her words, my predictament, her inquisitives, Sunny's words, somehow a rather distored jigsaw is completed. 'Be my psychologist. I will be your case study in understanding human behaviour with regards to love. This is my proposal.' This is my mental brain travelling on the fast track. Like my old ironing board being folded, her back leaned back slightly. I guess this offer is rather odd.

'When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.' She whispers a qoute of Maya Angelou. I must admit, I am intrigued by her. 'I understand Dr Kim.' She outstretch her hand. I took it with my right. Proper etiquette affirms our deal. 'Since I am the subject and am aware of my status in this study, it will be unwise if I am to be the one grading your paper. Your reports shall be handed in to Dr Lee. I will inform Dr Lee of our situation. This has to be kept private and confidential. Hence, I will inform you of the location of our first session.' She attentively listens to my instructions. Somehow I was imagining her to be that robot that stores each syllabus in her head with her eyes.

I scribbled down my contact details on a post-it. As she neatly place it into her purse, I reminded her of the need for confientiality. In return, I was provided with her contact details on the other side of my post it. Had the robot already memorised all that? She bow, dimissing herself. She too her leave from the theatre. I slump back down onto the chair at the sound of the door closing behind her.

Taking out my phone, I typed;

Met a real robot. Drinks on me tonight. Carl's at eleven.

Then send it to both of them. After a minute, I realised just how messed up I was by that badass robot.

Reading this makes me interested in psychology hahaha. I have a few questions though: 1) Taeyeon and Jessica were lovers right? 2) What was the relationship of Jessica and the guy who Taeyeon?

Great story author! I like your style of writing :) It makes me think. I am honestly marveled on your choice of words and how it just screams wisdom (in my opinion). Keep it up! :D Hoping to see more works from you!

Do you write in your native language? If so, I wish I could read that. You have beautiful ideas, really, very profound and fresh. And your style of writing is poetic, it brings out the vibe you want to emulate and the picture you want to depict. So much so, I can almost imagine you excelling in other field of arts such as filmography and visual arts. However, and please don't take it personally, I feel that you are somewhat limited by this language. I wanted to, but honestly I couldn't finish everything because I find the construction awkward. I hope you are not offended by this. And I can sincerely say, amidst my difficulty in reading your work, I feel what you are trying to say.

Chapter 20: The ghost came and left?! She does feel for Taeng, that I am sure. Chapter 18 was intense. Not to say the rest of this story is not! Ha! A different way.
"I am not good for myself too. However, I do not have the privilege of walking away from that. " Ha... Funny.

Chapter 17: We do try to rationalize happenings in our life. Weren't we taught to do that? Sometimes in situations that may require our feelings, we still stuck to what we know. It's works doesn't it?
Sica, this ghost (at least to me), has finally materialized more...
