Baekhyun had stared at nothing for almost an hour. Accounts were piled on his table but he couldn’t finish his job with clear mind. Not after he caused Minseok’s death. It’s been 49 days and the next day will be his memorial. He had so much to apologise, but he was just too little too late. Chanyeol gave him bit space; only known Minseok as his housemate and casual fling. But who was he kidding? Minseok was the one who understand, understood him more than himself.

“Hello, earth to Baekhyun?” Chanyeol knocked his cubicle with his wide smile.

“Oh, Chanyeol, what do you want?”

“Let’s grab lunch together. It’s on me,” Baekhyun agreed just so not to be drown in his misery alone.

Baekhyun carefully took out all the cucumbers in his plate. Chanyeol laughing at him made him remember how Minseok would tell the waiter to put aside cucumber while ordering. He has been seeing Chanyeol over few months but still he never noticed the little details. He burst into tears and Chanyeol thought it was the cucumber.

It was the reunion dinner for Chanyeol’s alumni that night. Baekhyun was forced to be his plus one while he rather be with Minseok as in watching their old home videos, replaying all the love songs and cheesy lines Minseok had recorded, and staring at their lovey-dovey photos all night long. The night’s been good. Chanyeol did all the talking and he just need to smile. Not until he saw a familiar face.

“Baekhyun, meet Kyungsoo. My best friend,” Chanyeol introduced a small man with big eyes in front of him.

“Hi, I’m Kyungsoo. And this is my husband, Kim..”
