Chapter 19:  A ring symbolizes eternity...

During Jae Eun and Yoochun’s Ramyun bonding, Jae Eun couldn’t help but look at her  wrist watch and her phone every once in a while. Until she cannot take it anymore… She already decided to go home amidst contemplating whether Jaejoong really did forget her birthday or not.

When she reached home, she sighed in disappointment as she her conclusion earlier was right. There are neither balloons nor cakes, or even cooked foods or anything. A sleeping Jaejoong on the couch is the only one present. Due to her contained emotions, she didn’t bother waking him up but instead she went to her room to change her clothes and ran downstairs after a while.

“Stupid Jaejoong…” Jae Eun plopped down the other couch beside where Jaejoong is and turned the television on, “forgetting my birthday… Stupid stupid stupid!” she punctuated the similar words with a punch on the remote control button until the volume reaches mid-high.

That made Jaejoong stir from his sleep, “Jae Eun…” he smiled and sat up, “you’re finally home. Where have you been?”

“None of your business, idiot,” she whispered to herself the last word as she kept her stare on the TV.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” Jaejoong reached out for her urging her to transfer to where he is sitting, “are you mad?” he caressed her cheeks lightly.

“Nothing’s wrong…” her nose scrunched up, “really…”

Out of the blue, Jaejoong suddenly said with a smile, “saeng-ireul chukka hamnida…” ended with a kiss.

“Huh?” Yumi finally looked at his side, “you knew?”

“Of course. Why should I forget about this day anyway?” Jaejoong beamed, proud of himself, “you thought I forgot that’s why you’ve been calling me stupid earlier, ne?”

“How did you-“

“I know you very well, baby girl,” Jaejoong said as he squeezed her nose lightly, “work ed me up earlier that’s why I forgot to greet you on the phone earlier and I just thought I could treat you somewhere else when you get home but sadly, you came back home so late…”  he explained.

“I really thought you forgot, babo…” Jae Eun hit Jaejoong’s chest while pouting.

“Why would I?” Jaejoong hugged her even tighter, “by the way, I have something for you…” he showed her the little box he just caught from his pocket.

“What’s this?” she took a long hold of the velvet box.

“Why don’t you just look at it?” instead of giving her the most specific answer, he tried to convince her with another question.

And so Jae Eun opened it…

“A couple’s ring?” formed a big circle with her doe eyes widely opened.

“Would you accept my love, birthday girl?” and Jaejoong finally confessed to her.

Jae Eun then couldn’t hide her smile and say, “only if you put that ring on my finger…”

“Aigoo ~ of course…” he then held his hand and put the smaller silver ring on hers, “perfect!” he complimented then kissed her hand.

“This looks good on me!” Jae Eun raised her hand while looking at the silver accessory.

“How about you the other one on mine, too?” Jaejoong caught her attention.

Jae Eun then complied and put his own on him, “there you go, perfect like mine! And now, we’re officially a couple,” she clapped her hands together, “oh, by the way, have you eaten already?”

“Not yet,” he sighed, “you’ve eaten already, ne?”

“Yes, sorry,” Jae Eun pouted, “I’ll cook for you then, so you could eat,” she stood up and was about to head in the kitchen when all of a sudden, Jaejoong pulled her, causing her to sit on his lap roughly.

“What was that for?!”

“I’m not hungry so don’t bother,” Jaejoong’s right cheek brushed on Jae Eun’s bare arm that sent shivers down her spine.

“Y-yah~~ s-st-op that…” her breaths became subtly uneven.

Then finally, Jaejoong refrained from giving her skinship and grabbed her wrist, “let’s go sleep…”

“O-okay.”

When they were already at the hall that separates their room, Jaejoong opened his mouth and told Jae Eun what was on his mind.

“How about you sleep in my room tonight?” he said not letting go of her hands.

“Are you sure?” Jae Eun thought hard, “I mean, is it okay?”

“Of course it is…”

Jae Eun didn’t think twice, “oh alright.”

As soon as they are both inside, Jae Eun plopped down the bed first before Jaejoong. She was rolling over and over while giggling.

“Good night, my birthday girl,” Jaejoong switched off the lamp beside him and snuggled beside her, “sleep early so you won’t be late for school tomorrow…” he yawned while saying.

But before he could completely close his eyes out of tiredness, he heard Jae Eun spoke, “will you ever introduce me to your friends?”

“Eventually…” was the only word Jae Eun heard from his mouth.

The next day, the female kept on patting beside her, looking for the familiar figure and scent of a certain someone. But she failed nonetheless, she already opened her eyes and found no one.

“Where could he be?”

She proceeded to her daily routine before finally running downstairs, straight to the kitchen. Jae Eun found Jaejoong, who is already fully dressed for his work, waiting for her to have breakfast with him.

“Good morning,” Jaejoong smiled.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?”

“I did but you kept on kicking me,” he laughed out loud making the girl standing before him, blush so hard.

“Sorry.”

“No, it’s okay,” was he told her, “come and have breakfast with me.”

There was a slight silence once they started eating. It was only broken Jae Eun noticed Jaejoong tie unfixed.

“Let me fix your tie…” she skilfully knotted the tie in a nice form, “there~ that’s much better,” then she caught Jaejoong looking at her intensely, “what? Is there any dirt on my face?” she quickly brushed off her face.

Her lover then shook his head, “cancel everything you will do this coming Saturday,” he suddenly said.

“Why?”

“I’ll take you out,” Jaejoong said suavely.

She brightened up, “really???”

“Yes,” Jae Eun hugged him then, “I love you, baby…” he cooed.
