After having their breakfast, Chanyeol went back to the hotel while Aejin stayed outside. Throughout their meal, they didn’t speak to one another nor did they speak after. A heavy atmosphere surrounded them that even Yura and her grandmother noticed it but decided not to speak of it.

Aejin walked around the beach and sighed. The sun, along with the fresh air of Busan, calmed her down. Thankfully, the place they have settled in was a mere walking distance to the beach. It wasn’t too near of a walk, but the walk to the beach helped Aejin calm down.

She looked around the beach and marveled at its beauty. The water near the sand was light blue in color and the sand glided through her feet smoothly. There were tons of people in the beach, but the beach still looked clean.

Aejin thought of ways she could make the couple fall in love. She tried to strategize how she could make the two to drink a potion. It was quite easy to make Yura drink the potion as Yura was easily accessible to her, however Sungho was the problem. She barely had a proper conversation with him. It was almost impossible for her to make him drink the potion. Giving up on the idea of giving them the potion, Aejin shifted her thoughts in hitting the two with an arrow. However, it was quite difficult to do considering that the streets were quite open and Chanyeol would probably catch her if she tried to shoot an arrow from their room.

Chanyeol. Aejin groaned at the thought of him. Her irritation grew and grew at the thought of him, however the sound of the waves and the sand in her feet calmed her, not letting her irritation grow so much. She couldn’t believe how he could simply judge Yura based on what Sungho told him. For all she knows, Chanyeol was probably hanging out with Sungho at that exact moment.

Aejin shook her thoughts away and decided to leave the beach. She hasn’t come up with a doable plan to make the couple fall in love nor did it seem that she would be able to think of one anytime soon. Aejin walked away from the beach, unable to look away. It was rare for her to go to the beach, not because she didn’t want to but because she couldn’t.

Cupids were rarely given any break. People don’t have breaks from their lives, nor do cupids. But Aejin didn’t mind. She loved being a cupid. She loved granting people true love. Seeing people fall in love gave her so much hope, so much happiness. She wouldn’t trade her job for anything.

Finally able to look away from the beach, Aejin walked back to the streets. Not wanting to go back the motel and see Chanyeol, Aejin settled to continue walking around. Numerous shops were lined up along the. Every shop had different products which Aejin took her time admiring. One shop stole Aejin’s attention. It was a small antique looking shop. The shop’s exterior looked as if it was from a different time. Aejin couldn’t help but walk towards the shop as if a magnet attracted her to it. She entered the shop and a bell jingled. The interior of the shop looked much like the exterior. The shop was full of antiques and had the smell of antiques.

Aejin looked around for the owner but saw no sign of them. She quickly looked back at the door to see if the shop was open, and indeed a sign signaled that it was open. Aejin shrugged it off, thinking that the owner was simply at the storage or in the bathroom. Aejin looked around and marveled at the antiques. There were lamps, tables, fans, chairs and tons more of the old times. She walked towards a display case, where a cashier also sat. Numerous accessories were displayed on the display case, which Aejin couldn’t help but admire, as if it were the most beautiful things she has ever seen in her life. She graced her fingers on numerous necklaces and stopped when one caught her eye.

It was a gold necklace that had a strange looking pendant. It was a sword with two serpents surrounding it and a pair of wings on top. It seemed strangely familiar to Aejin but she couldn’t think of where she has seen it before.

“Good Afternoon.” A voice suddenly greeted, causing Aejin to jump in surprise. Aejin looked at the owner of the voice and saw a middle aged man. He had a dark hair that had gray streaks and had a kind smile on his face.

“What can I help you with?” he asked.

“Was this necklace a symbol of a past Korean king?” Aejin asked as she showed the necklace she was holding, “I’ve seen it before but I can’t remember where.” She expressed, her brows meeting in thought.

“Ah, the Caduceus!” the man sighed in delight, “This is not a Korean item, but rather an item of a god.” He said. At his statement, a name popped out in Aejin’s mind.

“Mercury, the messenger of the gods, the messenger of the gods, guide of the dead and protector of merchants, shepherds, gamblers, liars, and thieves.” She stated, earning the interest of the man, “Mercury always has his Caduceus in his hand. It represents commerce and negotiation.” She said, absentmindedly. It felt strange to her, to have something so close to the upper world. Humans have somehow found out of the gods but dismiss them as mere myths. It was rare for someone to bring it up.

“Miss, has anyone told you that you look much alike to the goddess Venus?” the man asked out of the blue, startling Aejin.

“Wh-What do you mean?” Aejin stuttered, not understanding what was going on. Why was her grandmother being mentioned? A chill ran down her spine. She didn’t feel right. There was definitely something strange about the man. The man only smiled at her with a mysterious smile.

“It’s getting quite late. I should really get going.” She said warily before she let go of the necklace. She gave a quick bow to the shop owner before she walked out of the shop, not looking back.

Aejin trotted back to the motel, her head full of different thoughts. She didn’t know what to think. Did people know of her identity? Was the man just a mere fan of the gods? She wanted to think simply of what just happened but there was something inside her that everything wasn’t so simple. However, there was nothing she could think of that the recent happening would prove a danger. Despite it being contrary to how she feel, she decided to let the happening go.

In a matter of minutes, she arrived back at the motel. She ignored everything around her and went straight to their room. Once she arrived at the room, she sat on the sofa and closed her eyes before taking a deep breath. Despite letting go of the recent happening, she still had a big problem in her hands. She still didn’t know how to proceed with her mission and it exasperated her.

“You’re back.” A very much familiar voice said to her.

Aejin looked up, trying her best to keep a straight face, not wanting Chanyeol to see a weak side of her. But when worry appeared on Chanyeol’s face, she knew she failed. She saw hesitation in his face before he spoke.

“Are you ok?” he asked. Aejin only looked at him not wanting to reply. She was perfectly aware that she wasn’t really ok and she was still upset at him.

Chanyeol could only sigh at Aejin’s silence. He wasn’t having a better time than Aejin. Just a day ago, he was getting ready to tutor Aejin just like he promised his past teacher, but now he’s suddenly at Busan being demanded by his supposed student to talk to a guy because she suddenly liked him. Nothing made sense to Chanyeol and somehow he knew that he wasn’t getting any answers any time soon.

         “Look

I dont get why Hongbin keep on asking Aejin to be careful of Jaeyoon just because she a witch. I really hope Baekyeon will somehow resolve their issues. More fluff? Yay.
I wonder will Chanyeol ever discover that Aejin is actually a cupid in the future chapters as the story progress.
