“It didn’t work. How is that even possible?” Aejin sighed as she successfully balanced her magic mirror on top of her mini closet.

          It was morning, and Aejin was running around her room, getting ready for school. Aejin was still half-dressed; her skirt was slightly falling from her hips and her blouse was still ed, showing a part of her bra and skin. Hongbin, who was talking with Aejin through the magic mirror, quickly looked away and shook his head at the girl.

          It wasn’t the first time he had seen Aejin half-undressed, though it was a rare sight for him. There were times in the past when Aejin did something similar to the current situation. Once, Aejin had talked to Hongbin while she was taking a shower due to an urgent case regarding her mission. Though it had already happened before, Hongbin couldn’t help but feel a little flustered  whenever he would see Aejin like this. Aejin, on the other hand, didn’t mind it too much. Her mind was too occupied with getting ready for school and the problem with Leo and Ellin to actually think of herself being half in front of Hongbin.

          “It’s possible for them to not fall in love immediately, but there wasn’t even a pull.” Aejin explained, as she zipped her skirt up, “Nothing happened. Not even a bit of change.” She said, recalling her experience the past few days with Leo and Ellin.

          “That’s really strange…” Hongbin commented, still with his eyes away from Aejin, “It should work, especially if you’ve already given them both the potion.” He said as he furrowed his brows, thinking.

          Aejin ran around the room and picked up the dirty clothes on the floor before placing them inside a basket. She quickly buttoned up her blouse and faced Hongbin – or the magic mirror – with her hands on her hips.

          “You can look up now. I’m done changing.” She said and Hongbin quickly looked up and met eyes with her. Hongbin’s eyes looked troubled as if he knew something yet he wasn’t telling her. Aejin knew that Hongbin knew something, even from before. She knew Hongbin was hiding something from her.

          “You know something.” Aejin said as she crossed her arms, glaring at Hongbin. Hongbin kept quiet, causing Aejin to roll her eyes.

          “You know, you shouldn’t keep secrets from me.” She said, as she walked around her room, resuming her preparation for school, “Whatever’s happening, I should know. It is my mission.” She pointed out. Hongbin sighed, knowing that he can’t keep his silence.

          “Someone must be countering the potion.” Hongbin spat, causing Aejin to stop on her tracks. Aejin’s brows furrowed, in total confusion, as she looked at Hongbin.

          “Who would counter the potion?” she asked, not being able to think of a person who would do such a thing.

          “I don’t know.” Hongbin sighed, confused as well, “But only a God or Goddess can counter a love potion. A cupid, to be exact.” He said. At Hongbin’s words, Aejin’s frown grew deeper. Aejin thought hard on her years on earth.

          In her five years on earth, she rarely encountered a cupid. Tons of cupids were on earth, and she was quite famous, being the daughter of cupid himself. But cupids on earth would be too busy to actually get close to Aejin, and if they even had time to see her, why would they counter a love potion?

          “Your brother…” Hongbin started, and Aejin already knew what he was going to say.

          “Why would he?” Aejin cut Hongbin’s words. Hongbin sighed, not knowing what to say.

          “Your brother can be hard to read at times, and he has his reasons for doing crazy things.” Hongbin said, recalling his past experiences with Aejin’s brother.

          Aejin’s brother was one of the best cupids in history. He completed ninety-nine percent of his missions, and all of the couples he held were in a stable and happy relationship. Aejin’s brother had quite an odd way of doing his missions. He would do crazy things, and would pair people up in ways you cannot imagine. Though he has a unique style of doing his duties, he always succeeded in his job.

          “He’s in Thailand. Only two or three cupids are assigned there. Won’t he be too busy?” Aejin pointed out, not finding it possible for her brother be near her.

          “That’s true, but we can’t be too sure.” Hongbin said, unconfident.

          Silence surrounded the room as both Aejin and Hongbin were confused and stuck. Neither of them knew what to say nor what to think. Aejin sighed and resumed in packing her bag for school. Whatever was happening didn’t really help her, and seeing that Hongbin was in a similar state to her, she was going to have a tough time in figuring out what was happening.

          “You should try hitting them with an arrow.” Hongbin suggested as Aejin slung her bag on her shoulder, ready to leave for school, “An arrow is stronger than a potion, which makes it harder to counter. Whoever’s countering the potion won’t easily counter the effects of a love arrow. By the time he or she even plans to counter the arrow, the effect will already take place. Even though they're not fully acquainted, we have no other choice.” He explained, and Aejin nodded obediently, finding no other option.

          Aejin walked towards the mirror and was about to place it inside her bag until Hongbin spoke again.

          “Aejin, keep your guard up.” He warned, “Whoever is doing this doesn’t seem to happy with what you’re doing.” He said. At his words, Aejin sighed and nodded. Tons of questions entered Aejin’s mind, but she tried her best to push them away. She had to focus on her missions, but she had to be careful as well.

          “I will.” She assured him. Hongbin sighed and nodded before his image vanished from the mirror. Aejin followed Hongbin’s sigh and quickly placed her mirror inside her bag.

          Aejin walked out of her apartment and walked straight to school, her pace faster than usual. She couldn’t take what was happening. Aejin had a debt to Ellin, for breaking her up with N. Now that she’s found Ellin’s mate, Aejin wanted nothing more than for Ellin to be with him. But something was stopping her from making it happen, or rather a someone.

          Aejin was stimulated; She wanted to get to school and just shoot an arrow at Leo. Ellin had felt a small pull to Leo; it was so small that Aejin almost didn’t get to feel it. It was Leo that she had to work on.

          Due to her fast pace, Aejin quickly arrived at her school and went straight towards her locker. She opened her locker and took whatever she needed for the next class with Ellin and Leo on her mind. Just then, her instincts kicked in and she quickly looked away from her locker, only to see Leo at his. Seeing Leo, Aejin’s heart beat went faster, but not because she was in love with him. Her body was itching to just shoot a love arrow at him but her mind stopped her and told her to wait. She couldn’t shoot a love arrow in front of all these people. They would think she’s trying to harm Leo, when all she wants is to help him.

          “What’s up?” a voice suddenly asked, making Aejin look away from Leo.

          “I failed.” Aejin said, seeing her friend, Jaeyoon by her side, “The potion I gave Leo didn’t work.” She said, obvious disappointment in her voice.

          For a moment, Aejin saw a hint of happiness in Jaeyoon’s eyes. It was only for a brief second, but Aejin had caught it. Aejin was about to ask Jaeyoon on why she was strangely happy that day when Yunha arrived.

          “Leo looks really handsome today.” Yunha said as she walked towards her friends. At Yunha’s words, Aejin couldn’t help but fidget at her place.

          “Do you remember that guy, Taecyeon?” Aejin changed the subject, unable to listen to her friend’s fangirling, “Was he nice?” she asked, pushing her friend to tell her about their time together.
