Perfect Turned into Ugly

No matter how much she tried, Sulli could not go back to sleep from the bright shine of the sun. She groaned and sat up as she looked outside the window, then smiled when she remembered that today is a school day, which means that she'll see KyungSoo.

In the speed of light, Sulli jumped out of bed and hurried to the bathroom. Washed up and reported back to her room to change. After settling into her uniform, she raced downstairs, said her good mornings to the maids, then stepped into the kitchen where her mother and father are eating their breakfast.

"Morning." Sulli said, beaming as she sat down next to her mother. "Morning," Her mother replied back. "You seem happy today." she stated.

"Because it's a school day."

"I don't see how that's exciting, especially for someone your age." She glared at her suspiciously.

"I have my reasons," Her mother nodded and said no more.

The maid gave Sulli her breakfast, and she immediately dig in, unaware of the strange looks from her parents. When she finished eating, she drunk the orange juice in one gulp before sighing in content and wiped with her hand instead of a napkin.

She burped and giggled to herself. "Excuse me." She mumbled.

"You know, you should learn how to clean after yourself. You're soon to be married." Her mother said.

Sulli rolled her eyes, getting up to put her plate away. Usually the maids take it away, but she didn't want to stay and decease this conversation. "I'm not getting married to him, mom."

"Of course, you are! This is a big deal for our company." Her father said. He looked at her, as if she's insane.

It was true, though, about the company. Her father's company established for her to marry some guy from another company. It will only help the company to grow, but Sulli didn't like the idea of marrying someone she hardly knows.

She loves someone else. But her parents don't seem to care about her love life. Not even her life itself.

"Our? Don't you mean your company? Since all you care about is yourself." Sulli mumbled the last part. "Stop it, Jin-Ri-ah. You know that's not true." Her mother said her full name. She always does, and it irritates Sulli.

Her father wiped his mouth and stood up. "I must go, now."

"Me and Jin-Ri-ah will go to the shop to purchase a wedding gown-"

"I told you, I'm not getting married to that guy." Sulli cut her off, sternly speaking.

"We told you, you will." Her father said. He put on his dress coat and straighten up his tie. Her mother stood up as well and fixed her, obviously expensive, red suit.

Sulli's hands clenched into fists. "Why are you doing this to me? Why can't I live a normal life as a teenager?"

Sulli hates being rich. She wish to be like normal teenagers doing normal teenage stuff. But, no! Her strict, spoiled parents won't let her, and it made her boil up in rage.

"Shut up and do as we say!" Her father roared, annoyed. Sulli does complain about this topic almost everyday. It irritates them to the edge.

"No, I'm tired of doing what you have to say! Why can't you listen to what I have to say?!"

Slap!

Her mother slapped her right across the cheek. Sulli didn't cry or flinch, she's used to the abusive behavior. "Quit complaining! You should be glad that we'll give you something that you'll never get in years!"

Without another word, Sulli immediately ran out of the house and headed to the school. She couldn't help but let her tears fall down her cheeks. Reaching to the school gates, she bumped into KyungSoo. So stuck up with the tears falling down, Sulli didn't know she bumped into him.

"Why are you crying?" He asked in a monotone. "It's nothing," she answered and KyungSoo shrugged, walking inside to class. "Hey, wait!" She called out to him, and he stopped to turn around with eyes clearly annoyed. "What now?"

"Can we walk to class together?" She nervously asked. Why was she so nervous all of sudden? She never used to be like this. Strange, she thought.

"No." KyungSoo simply replied, and Sulli frowned. "Why?"

"Because I don't want to be your near appearance." Sulli's frown deepen.

Just when he finished saying that, JongIn came running up to KyungSoo. "Hey, KyungSoo-ah!" He called out, smiling. KyungSoo smiled. "Hey, JongIn-ah."

Sulli looked at them both in complete stock, like she was watching a ping pong match. JongIn seemed to noticed Sulli's existence when he turned to Sulli and smiled. "Hey, you're Jin-Ra-ah, right?"

"Yes, but I'll like to be called Sulli."

"Oh, okay. Sulli-ah, nice to meet you." JongIn stuck out his arm for a shake.

"Yeah, hey." She didn't return his handshake but continue to stare in confusion. JongIn awkwardly took his hand back after no reply. "KyungSoo-ah, want to walk to class together?" JongIn asked. Sulli smirked, knowing that KyungSoo would reject him.

"Sure." What?!

They left, leaving Sulli dumbfounded. "What just happened?" She mumbled to herself. "Did KyngSoo-ah just accept JongIn-ah's offer?" Could...KyungSoo have a liking to someone for once? Shaking the thought away, Sulli chuckled to herself. Yeah, like that's going to happen, she thought and walked away to class.

~(*8*)~

The day passed and it's already lunchtime. BaekHyun and TaeYeon decided to walk around the school campus since they both are not hungry. As they walked, BaekHyun put his arm around her shoulder to pull her closer.

"Hey, babe~ Guess what today is." BaekHyun said.

TaeYeon pretended to think. "My birthday?" BaekHyun gasped and looked at her wide eyed.

"Is it really?!" TaeYeon couldn't help but laugh.

"No. I'm only joking."

BaekHyun nervously laughed with her. "Me, too. I could never forget you're birthday." TaeYeon hummed in response.

"It's a Friday! We should go out and get something to eat. What do you say?" asked BaekHyun.

"I'll love to but I can't. I'm staying after school for practice." TaeYeon replied and smiled apologetically.

"I'll stay with you."

TaeYeon looked at him. "Remember the last time you stayed?"

During study hall, BaekHyun had gotten bored and wanted to play with TaeYeon, but she was busy. So he decided to get a book to kill time. Unfortunately for him, the book that he wanted was being taken from Zi Tao, one of Yi Fan's "buddies". They argued for a good three minutes until they really started to get into  fight - over a book. After that incident, they were kicked out of the library.

"I promise to not get bored again. But seriously, honey? How can I not get bored?" He pouted.

TaeYeon giggled. "My Baekkie is so adorable~" BaekHyun blushed as she pinched his cheek. "Jagiya~ Stop it. It hurts."

She stopped and smiled before she kissed the cheek where she pinched it. "There! Is that better?"

Being the childish kid that he is, BaekHyun pouted and shook his head. He pointed at his lips. "Right here, it hurts really bad, jagiya~"

TaeYeon once again giggled and kissed him. It started as a peck, but BaekHyun held her cheeks and kissed her back passionately. They stopped for air. TaeYeon laid her forehead on BaekHyun's and smiled. "I miss it when we kiss like that." She managed to breath out.

"Me too. It's very rare." TaeYeon nodded.

Suddenly, KyungSoo came walking up to the two lovebirds with a scoff on his face. "A little bit of PDA is okay, but making out is overboard, don't you think? Oh, yeah, you have a hard time thinking, BaekHyun-ah, so it kind of make sense."

"Oh, shut up! We were just kissing." BaekHyun crossed his arms and scolded.  "Why were you looking anyway?"

KyungSoo rolled his eyes. "It's kind of hard not to when you see a gorgeous lady kiss a dumb brat." He smiled at TaeYeon and she giggled in return.

BaekHyun scoffed. "Hey! Stay away from her, you short owl eye freak."

"Barbie called. She said she wants her wardrobe back."

"Hey!"

"And to think I will let you guys hang out with each other tonight was unmistakably out of the question." TaeYeon sighed.

"I could never hang out with this guy even if you paid me," BaekHyun turned to his girlfriend. "Babe, you have to believe me. One time, he chased me around the park with a knife in his hand, like a old man chasing kids for going in his yard. He wants to kill me!"

"Maybe if you wouldn't have annoy the guy so much then he wouldn't kill you." TaeYeon admitted.

"Thank you, TaeYeon-ah." They smiled at one another. "My pleasure."

BaekHyun's eye twitched in shock. His girlfriend is siding with his killer. How nice is that!

TaeYeon turned to BaekHyun and frowned. "Why don't you hang out with ChanYeol-ah tonight? He seems down and depress lately. What's gotten into him?"

"Oh, he just found out that YooSun-ah had her first with Yi Fan-ah, and he's sad that he's not her firs-"

"Whoa, whoa, what? Hold on. YooSun-ah did what?"

BaekHyun paused and looked at his girlfriend. "N-Nothing."

TaeYeon squinted her eyes and glared at him. It's the look that says tell-me-or-you're-going-to-suffer-to-pay-your-hospital-bill-from-the-amount-of-pain-I'll-give-you. BaekHyun doesn't like that look. As much as TaeYeon looks cute and pretty, she can also be scary.

BaekHyun sighed in defeat. "She and Yi Fan-ah did...umm it."

TaeYeon lifted an eyebrow. "It as in, it?" BaekHyun nodded while TaeYeon eyes widen.

"She what?!"

"That's exactly why I came here, TaeYeon-ah. I want you to talk to YooSun-ah." KyungSoo said. TaeYeon blinked in confusion. "Talk about what?"

KyungSoo uncomfortably shifted from his stand. "You know, a girl talk," He pauses. When he sees her not replying, still confused, he continues, "You know, how you girls talk about...uhh it."

That seem to lid a light bulb. She nodded for understanding. "Ohhh! I know what you mean, but why? Can't she talk to her mother about it?"

"My mother is really out of the question about that. And besides, I want you to talk to her because you're young and good friends with YooSun-ah."

She thought about it for a moment before nodding. "Okay, I'll do it."

~(p-p)~

As soon as YooSun opened the front door, she was immediately crushed from a bone crushing bear hug. She could barely breath from the impact, almost passing out until the bear, actually a person, pulled away from her.

"Oh, YooSun-ah! It's sooo great to see you again!" It's her grand-mother.

YooSun forgot that her grand-mother was a athlete person in her youth years. She used to do all kinds of sports: basketball, baseball, volleyball, snowboarding, rock climbing, skydiving, tennis, soccer, her favorite, and so many more. She still have some muscle left in her body. That explains the bear hug, YooSun remembered.

"It's great to see you too, grand-mother!" She hugged her back. YooSun loves her grand-mother. More like admire or adore her. It's not a piece of cake to see an elderly woman doing stunts and tricks at their age like her grand-mother.

Her grand-mother pulled away and gasped. "Look at you, child. You grown so much," She smiled, and YooSun returned it by smiling back. "You remind me just how you're mother looked like in her teen years."

"But I was not hard-headed like her," YooSun's mother came from behind her grand-mother with a look of disappointment and anger.

YooSun remembered the argument with her mother yesterday. For a second there, YoSun felt guilty, but yet again, it's her life, not her mother's.

"Oh, stop it, HaeYoung-ah. You were just the same," The elderly retruded back. "Besides, I don't see YooSun-ah as a hard-headed person. She's a sweet angel."

Ms. Do turned to her mother. "You don't know half the things that are going on here in this house, mother. And on top of that, YooSun-ah is a teenager," She turned back to YooSun, who has been looking down at the ground in shame. "All teenage girls are the same. Looking for love when they're too blind to notice they're in danger."

YooSun silently prayed and hope that KyungSoo haven't told their mother about her and Yi Fan. Thankfully, she haven't told him that they're continuously doing it from time to time, whenever Yi Fan feels like it. But the way that her mother said it made it sound like she knew.

She bite her bottom lip and thought, please don't find out. All hell will break lose if she knows.

"HaeYoung-ah, you're talking nonsense again," Grand-mother said. "Not all girls were like that; I wasn't. And I'm sure others, too."

Ms. Do still continued to glare at YooSun, sending chills down her spine of nervousness. Oh no, she thought, it's obvious that she knows. YooSun's life is over, she knows it for sure.

Ms. Do's mother frowned as she looked around. "Now, where's your adorable son, HaeYoung-ah? Did he not come to school today?"

"He should be here shortly, mother." Once that was said, the front door opened and it revealed KyungSoo. He stepped in with his usual, doll expression until he spotted grand-mother with wide, open arms.

"There's my favorite grand-son. Come here and give you're old pal a hug, you squishy jellyfish!" KyungSoo ran into his grand-mother's arms. KyungSoo is another one who loves his grand-mother, but he hates the fact that she does the sporty stunts. It could damage her body, he fears, and he doesn't want that.

"Hey, grand-mother," He pulled away. "It's nice to see that you're not dead yet." YooSun and her mother eyes widen but the elderly woman just laughed it off. "That's true! The old woman still got the moves." She winked.

"So, grand-mother, what brings you here?" YooSun asked.

"I just wanted to see my grand kids, that's all."

"You came to see us from coming all the way from Guangzhou, grand-mother? Really?" KyungSoo said.

Their grand-mother isn't Chinese, she just lives in Guangzhou because she likes it there, she once told them.

The old woman motioned for the kids to sit on the couch as she sat on the armchair. One they sat down, she begun speaking; "I have wonderful news. Remember the Chinese woman I told you about that I grew up with all my life?"

"Guan-Yin-ah." KyungSoo replied. His grand-mother nodded.

"Yes, that's her. Well, I just found out that one of her sons is getting married next week. She told me that I may invite as many people as I like, and I would love for you kids to come."

"A wedding," YooSun never been to a wedding before. It would be great to see the experience of one. She can even ask the bride how it feels to become a wife--not like she's going to get married anytime soon. "I'll love to go."

"Excellent! We'll leave on Monday. Oh, Guan-Yin-ah will be so happy."

"That's funny. I thought it was her son's wedding, not hers." Ms. Do joked and her mother laughed. "What can I say? She loves company."

"But wait, I'm confused," said KyungSoo. "You came here all the way from China just to ask us if we wanted to go to a wedding? You could've just called, you know?"

Ms. Do's mother shrugged. "Like I said, I wanted to see my babies."
